Introduction
WARNING!This is NOT a beginners guide, basic game Knowledge, Champion and itemization knowledge is recommended!
This guide is ment for players who have this basic knowledge. Elo should be high Gold to Low Diamond.
I don't recommend it for higher elos either
I'm not responsible for any elo Loss :^)
Because of this I skip Itemization and Skill Information and will Focus on "competitive" play / proper jungling
Some Background Information:
I'm currently Platinum 1 with Dia 5 MMR, where I main jungle with a 65% Winrate.
(Safe to say I got some solid Knowledges about jungling.)
I'm definitely not a Morgana main but I enjoy her, plus I had no experience with her in the jungle.
The Patch 7.24 had some interesting Features, for example the change for Morgana to clear even healthier and faster.
So I tried one clear in Training mode and were pretty surprised how easy and fast it was.
Have fun with my first guide !
Pros
|
+ Great clear + good ganks with chilling Smite and Dark Binding + Good CC + Great Utility + can adapt to any Team comp + The enemy won't know where you start either know you are jungle in Champion select, which is a huge benefit |
Cons
|
- Weak against early teamcomps - Weak against jungler who do immense pressure early - Mana hungry - not mobile - no real pressure - Team dependant |
Ok, let's make it clear: Morgana jungle is NOT OP, it's more like a cheese pick which just got VIABLE during 7.24. It got some parallels to the playstyle of Ivern jungle! |
The first path:
As shown you aim to get Unsealed Spellbook here's the reason why:
Unsealed Spellbook gives you 25% CDR on Summoner Spells, which means you have Smite faster.
Together with Lucidity Boots you have 35% summoner CDR, which is huge.
Why bother to have smite earlier up?
Believe it or not, Morgana's Passive Soul Siphon heals for ANY Spell, yep even smite, you heard it!
I've not done the maths yet but you should get a good chunk of HP with smite than without your passive.
Your HP is at 190, I smited at 200 hp, basically you should get 133 HP back.
As I smited my HP was at 362
which means I got 162 HP back instead.
At Level 1, this makes a difference.
Now imagine you got smite 25%faster, that makes your clear Overall better and healthier
Morgana heals for 15/20/25/30/35/40% (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) of the damage her abilities deal to champions, large minions, and large monsters
At Level 18, smite deals 1000 damage, so your passive alone gives you 400 hp back. Combined with the heal from smite 70 (+ 10% maximum health)(Morgana max base health at Level 18 is 2009) it should heal you around 670hp
Other Bonuses Unsealed Spellbook provides:
- better heals from potions
- Exchange your Summoner Spells -> Just tell your lanes to deepward and *skidibip* no one expects a Morgana jungle teleport from behind right? (They dunno).
Perfect Timing explains itself, alternatively you could go for Hextech Flashtraption for really cheesy ganks, it worked quite well |
"Why not Cosmic Insight? It boosts your summoner Spell Cdr buy 5% and Overall CDR by 5%?"
Well simply because 5% is not that relevant and Approach Velocity gives Utility which synergizes well with Morgana
I don't recommend Magical Footwear[size] neither Minion Dematerializer

The second Path:
ALTERNATIVE RUNES (discussion):
First to say, I didn't try Glacial Augment yet, but it seems pretty powerful aswell combined with Everfrost
I dont even have to mention that it synergizes with Morgana perfectly.
- Manaflow Band really gives you a safer mana use when you dont have Blue Buff it's essential in the first clear! |
- Waterwalking Since you are very slow and get outrotated fast, it's just the best Option here (by far) |

The first Clear:
If you are matched against early aggressive junglers go to Jungle Matchups and Counterjungling to get more Information.
EDIT:
I don't recommend starting wraiths anymore since Morgana's w Cooldown got hotfixed, from 10 seconds Level 1 to 12 seconds. This makes a huge difference
On the other side you start botside blue OR botside wolves (both possible).
Hunters Talisman is perfect here.
You don't need a leash, the enemy won't expect you to start there, and you will cast your Tormented Shadow permanently.
Your first clear should look like this:
1. Wraiths EDIT: Start red/blue after Hotfix in 7.24
2. Red Buff
3. Wolves
4. Blue Buff
5. Gank
So after your first route you have multiple Options
OPTION 1: If you see the enemy jungler top and it's too late for a countergank / risky, check his wraiths, your Tormented Shadow should secure it easily.
After that if the enemy mid laner Plays aggressive, you can abuse that and gank mid.
OPTION 2: Don't miss your Chance when the enemy mid laner Plays too aggressive and punish him
OPTION 3: You can go and gank top lane, Keep in mind that the enemy jungler might be around
Tips:
- Wraiths are your best friend, and after that Golems, you can clear them so well you could do it seven days a week as a low income Job and still be the happiest man on earth.
Jokes beside, just don't miss These camps.
- We can't talk about your solo drake potential tbh, only try to secure it after succesfull ganks
- The first ganks are very succesfull, the enemy will simply underestimate your jungle potential.
After your first clear you want to aim for your Golems, so dependant on your Starting side you want to gank either top or bot.
Now should be the time things get pretty interesting, as you probably forgot by now, we still have the glorious
If you didn't use flash yet this step could be a gamechanger
So this step is to ask your Team if they could deepward bot/top (prefer bot),
and you Change your to and spamping (make sure you do tbh, your team won't expect you to TP either) for a TP when you think the time has come.
Meanwhile you can clear your camps so you don't waste potential time
(optional: Change your Smite to Teleport, might be even better)
Optional Uses of TP:
- safe Towers!
- counterganks
- apply pressure in general
Let's Focus on the weaknesses of Morgana jungle, which is simply enemy early aggresivness coming from their jungler.
So maybe you picked before the enemy jungler and suddenly you have to Play against something like:
That's pretty bad tbh, you should pray that you don't become the prey (sorry for the pun).
BUT, it's not the end of the world!
I got stomped by a nidalee, but I learned from that.
For example:
This happened to me versus Lee sin
You start botside wraiths
You see a Ward being placed at your wraiths or your red
Keep in mind: we don't want a in our jungle like the first 20 minutes
What do you do?
Simply avoid botside right now!
With the preseason changes wolves give you Level 2 at Level 1 just like the wraiths, so start there and then into your blue.
PRO TIP: This causes confusion, it makes it way harder for the enemy jungler to track you. It is similar to going to the gym trying to build muscle. If you want the muscle to grow, you have to confuse it. In our case our muscle is our elo
Next, if you are sure the enemy jungler invaded your red, simply get his red and gank from there.
