Pantheon Basics

AD Pantheon:

(icon=Pantheon size=64)
Pantheon Basics:

Pros:
1- Good at farming (with his HS more or less)
2- Stun
3- Carry
4- Personal Teleport (ult)
5- TONS of AD
6- Blocks every fourth attack (Passive)
7- All around fun to play

Cons:
1- Squishy late game
2- Generally targetted in team fights
3- No escape method
4- Mana thirsty

I hope I haven't scared you off now... Here is my build to Pantheon... I realize it is very long but I wanted to have lots of detail and it's a guide after all... So yea.

Runes

For runes I like to build him with flat health quintessences. In my personal opinion they are the best for any champion.
Next, I have Glyphs for mp5. This helps you get your combo off early game more often
Marks of armor Pen.
Seal of evasion for Dodge

These runes I have found are the best all in all for Panth. It helps with survivability as well as AD.

Items

Items:

Core Build:

First:
Ok. Here we go. Your first item should be Meki Pendant. Keep it until you feel that your mana problems are dissipating. AKA keep it till mid game. AKA around level 12sish

Boots:
I recommend trying to build this item for survivability. Depending on the team I would go with either or

Last whisper gives you a fair amount of AD plus a TON OF ARMOR PEN. This item is perfect for Pantheon.

This item gives you everything you need. AS, AD as well as Armor.

After:
Now here comes the fun part. Some like to begin with the *suprise* classic BF Sword massacre. But what I have found is that yes, you do lots of DMG, but only if you have enough gold to get these very expensive items. So instead I like to build panth more for survivability and DMG. NOT TANKY THOUGH.

Instead I have taken into consideration the squishyness of Pantheon and built him accordingly. Now of course ever game is different. If you didn't start off doing too well and you would rather try to cut down on the deaths you can build more defensively:
If the team is...
AD- get
AP-
A mix of both- (I like frozen mallet the best because of the slow and extra AD)
If you are dying a lot: Guardian's Angel

Of course, you may use any other defensive item(s) but I use these... So... I recommend them.

More on Guardian's Angel:
One of my favorite items in the game. It is great for any carry and it can really make wonders happen in team fights. This is A MUST! As pantheon you are squishy and you will be targetted and die very often. However, if you get this you can deal TONS of dmg. Get focused. Die. Then help your team mop up any stragglers. Some like to get revive instead but I find that this works just as well and doesn't take up a very valuable summoner spell slot.

From there you should begin your massive AD rampage:

Next, I like Infinity Edge. It gives you a nice chunk of AD to put your team ahead and it makes your crits do even more damage. This is great when you crit everything below 15% health.

Keep in mind however, that or work really well all depending on your situation. If there are lots of tanks on the opp team get BC, if you need that life steal grab BT

Why these items over other traditional Pantheon items?
I have played pantheon for a long, long time. He was my first main character, I check the patch updates SPECIFICALLY to see what has been changed about him, I am constantly experimenting with him in game play so that I can keep getting better with him, he is my favorite character.

So you should listen to me when I say this. Pantheon is not a tank. That's not how I play him. But honestly you could have 1000 AD whatever. YOU CANT DO ANY DAMAGE WHEN YOU ARE DEAD. It's a new concept I suppose. That is why this build is different. You have some builds that build him straight AD, some DPS, some even super- tanky. This build gives you enough AD to do some serious damage to champs and it gives you enough defensive options to stay alive long enough to help your team. Therefore, I rest my case.

Abilities and Ultimate

Abilities:
Passive:
Aegis Protection
After attacking or casting spells 4 times, Pantheon will block the next normal attack that deals more than 40 damage to him.

- Can block tower hits, Gp's parley, as well as any other physical attack

Spear Shot
Pantheon hurls his spear at an opponent, dealing 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 + 100 / 115 / 130 / 145 / 160% of his attack in physical damage.

Cooldown 4 seconds | Cost 45 mana | Range 600

-Low CD. Great for harassing enemies. Does TONS of damage early game

Aegis of Zeonia
Pantheon leaps at the target enemy champion and deals 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+100% of ability power) magic damage and stuns them for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 second(s). Pantheon also instantly refreshes his Aegis Protection.

Cooldown 12 seconds | Cost 70 mana | Range 600

- Very important for your W E Q combo. Stun that increases in duration every time you level it up

Heartseeker Strike
Passive: Pantheon gains 100% critical strike chance against targets below 15% of their max health.

Active: Pantheon focuses and deals 5 swift strikes in front of him for 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 + 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40% of his total attack damage as physical damage per strike. Deals double damage to champions.

Cooldown 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 seconds | Cost 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 mana | Range 400

- Passive is very cool. It can really help you out sometimes when 1v1ing other champs, and last hitting minions
- Active DOES A TON OF AOE DAMAGE. Great for casting into teamfights from a safe distance

As far as skill sequencing goes. I get SS for the range and early damage output. Then I get the stun... for... Stunning purposes. And finally the HSS to complete the W+E+Q combo. From there I level up HSS as much as possible, then stun so that the duration lasts longer and finally SS. Obviously I level up my ulti whenever possible.

Ok. Onto your combo in more detail. First you stun, While stunned you cast HSS so that they can't escape from it without taking a ton of Dmg. Next, You spear as they are running away. Early game this usually gets champs to below half health.

Ultimate:

Grand Skyfall
Pantheon gathers his strength and then leaps high into the air, crashing down at the target area a few seconds later. Deals up to 400 / 700 / 1000 (+100% of ability power) magic damage to units at the center (down to 33% at the edge) and slows them by 35% for 1 second.

Cost 150 / 250 / 350 mana | Range 25000 (worldwide)

-Basically, your ultimate is easy to avoid. The other team gets a warning which gives them enough time to flash, ghost, cloak, whatever. Your ult can be used for... 3 things I'd say
1- Teleporting. It is a great personal teleport and it can give your team that extra push if you ult in on a tower with low health and take it out. It's also great for Backdooring if there is a defensless inhib and the other team is pushing like there is no tomorrow.
2- Team fights. Again, you should probably jump from your platform and remember that four seconds of channeling is a long time in this game. Anything can happen in those four seconds. Try to make sure that your team isn't dead/ retreating/ being dominated before you ult... cuz if they are thennnn... You are screwed.
3- Chasing. If you see an enemy player retreating with little health left from your teammates in another lane go for it. Keep in mind their speed and basically you just have to rely on your instincts of where they may have ran off to. Also... If a rammus just tanked a tower by himself and he's running away (with 50 hp) Take into account his powerball. This applies to any other champ with any annoying speed boost or something.

Game Play

Early Game:
Start off getting a Meki Pendant in order to combat and Mana problems that are bound to happen early game. Pantheon is super mana thirsty... And if you are constantly having to B then you are going to be missing out on some chances to get some kills early game.
I highly reccommend harassing with Spear Shot early game because the dmg output is high. By the time you get to level 3 you should have your W+E+Q combo ready. Pick a squishy character and once you have harassed enough try to get a kill with the Stun HS SS combo. Keep in mind that you are decently squishy yourself and don't go for the kill unless you absoulutely know you will be able to get the kill and escape alive.
Survivability is very hard to obtain with Pantheon. So even though you may be dominating early game I would not recommend getting SOTO because stacks will be hard to maintain.

Mid Game:
Once you get to level 6 you should go B, buy some things (Hopefully you have atleast one kill if you have been harassing and using your combo well enough) and if you can, then ult (otherwise go back to your lane. With this build you should have enough mana to use your ulti fron anywhere) Remember that you have to channel for 4 seconds so keep that in mind. Plan ahead. If by midgame you have taken out the tower in your lane then I suggest ganking and helping other lanes out. Pantheon really has no escape mechanism so pushing your lane to the second tower would be very dangerous.

Late Game:
Pantheon is VERY VERY hard to be good with late game. He is one of the more squishy characters at this point and he does so much damage that you will undoubtedly be the main target for the other team. However, though his early/ midgame thunder may be slowing down there are many things you can do at this point.
First of all, though it may have been nerfed, your HS still has a lot of range. In teamfights stay behind the tank and cast that for TONS of DMG.
Second, Keep in mind that your ultimate is a personal teleport. When their team is pushing a lane try ulting in on a turret with l
