Introduction

!!!Disclaimer!!!

This guide is not to be followed exactly every game. The build will suffice in many situations but can be substituted for items that I will provide later in the guide.

Ahri is a very mobile AP Carry that can burst down many champions in any lane the she is in. This guide is mainly for "The Summoners Rift" map and the middle lane. When played well, Ahri can destroy most mid lane champions (of course there are always counters) with the massive amount of damage that her abilities offer. I have chosen each and every portion of this guide specifically for the best interest of Ahri gameplay.

Also understand that Ahri is squishy. I do try to make the best of this problem with the "recommended" build that I offer (but it does not eliminate the problem). This is a guide for Ahri, not a guide for how to play League of Legends. Refer to New Player FAQ by Mowen if you want to learn about how to play the game (as this guide seems to sum up everything the best).

!!!Who Am I!!!

I am ShadyBane of course. I have around 400 wins in regular games. And over 70 games in season two alone for ranked games. You can choose to follow me and my guide or not.

Awesome stuff. Now that that is understood, lets get on with it.

Pros / Cons

!!!PROS!!!

-High Burst Damage
-Nice CC with Charm
-High Mobility with Spirit Rush
-Offers true damage with Orb of Deception

!!!CONS!!!

-Requires Spirit Rush for mobility
-Still a squishy carry
-Requires some skill to maneuver best placement for abilities

Summoner Spells

!!!Recommended!!!

Flash - Still the greatest escape method (even after season two nerf)
Ignite - Gives the extra damage to kill the enemy (can fail easily with this spell though)

!!!Alternate Options!!!

Teleport - Great for getting into a position that may be sensitive (a lane that is about to lose a tower)
Cleanse - Can be used as an escape method (if you feel flash isn't for you)
Ghost - Can help to get into position, or get away from a position.

!!!Not an Option!!!

The rest of the summoner spells are better for other positions and would be best if avoided. Of course it is my opinion, and I am entitled to it.

Runes

The Runes that I have chosen are there for a reason. They offer Ahri ability power for her early game.

!!!Recommended!!!

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration - For the extra Magic Penetration to kill enemies
Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration - To help with the mana problems that she has (mainly early game because items fix this later)
Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power - Gives an AP boost (mainly early game)
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power - Again for the AP boost

!!!Optionals!!!

All other runes can be an option for Ahri, but some are obviously better than others. Go with the provided runes and you can't go wrong.

Skill Sequence

Your Orb of Deception (Q) is the most important skill for dealing damage on Ahri. This spell should be maxed first due to the massive amount of damage and healing that it provides with Spell Vamp.

Your Fox-Fire (W) is also a very important skill that should be maxed second. This spell also helps deal massive amounts of damage to your foe.

Your Charm (E) is important for setting up your damage. This skill is great for setting up the quick burst damage that Ahri is so great at.

Your Spirit Rush (R) is awesome. This skill is great for positioning your damage and getting close/away from the fight. This skill does a nice bit of damage, and when mixed with her other skills, gives the all around nuke damage.

Items (Important)

The items I offer in the build up top are for reference and not to be followed every time. The items I have chosen are there for a reason.

!!!Recommended Items!!!

Doran's Ring - This is the best early game item due to the fact that it provides enough sustain and extra damage for the cost. I understand that this item does not work towards other items, but is best because early game is very crucial.

Boots - This item is just a gateway for the Sorcerer's Shoes that should be gotten soon after.

Hextech Revolver - This item provides Spell Vamp for extra damage and healing per ability used. This item is helpful for sustain and extra damage output.

Sorcerer's Shoes - Your tier two boots for outputting more damage and better movement.

Catalyst the Protector - This item helps with those nasty ganks and team fights. This item is also for your Rod of Ages (which also gives great sustain).

Will of the Ancients - The finish up for the Hextech Revolver. This item gives sustain and even more damage from the Hextech.

Rod of Ages - After your Catalyst the Protector has built up a little bit, you can go for a Rod of Ages. This item, as stated before, gives sustain and a little extra Ability Power.

Rabadon's Deathcap - Great item for ton's of damage. Boosts AP based on other items as well as a base amount of AP. Very strong choice for many AP carries.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter - This item is awesome for sustain and extra damage. The slow is what makes this item awesome. It provides your team extra time to grab that straggling survivor that has now been slowed.

Zhonya's Hourglass - Last but not least, Zhonya's Hourglass. This item makes you untargetable for a few seconds which can be great if you accidentally get out of position. It also gives a bit more damage.

!!!Optional Items!!!

These items can also be great picks for Ahri, but don't quite fit with the build that I have provided. They all have their own specific use, but really depend on how your particular game is going.

Abyssal Mask - Helps for those AP heavy enemies. Gives the extra Magic Resist but has the awesome effect of weakening the opponents Magic Resist.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity - Awesome for the pesky cooldowns. Can help but doesn't seem to be as efficient as Sorcerer's Shoes.

Lich Bane - Probably the most controversial item for Ahri. Some say that it is great for her because she needs to get close. I feel that she has enough burst damage to kill most of her enemies without the need for an auto attack. Can be effective if player can manage spell usage very effectively. It is hard to get an auto attack in when you are in the heat of the moment for an AP carry. If you feel that Lich Bane is better than an item that I have provided (namely Zhonya's Hourglass), then switch it out in your game. I leave this item for those like an Akali.

Void Staff - Can be an awesome item, but runes and Sorcerer's Shoes tend to provide enough Magic Penetration for her.

Gameplay

!!!Intro!!!

First things first. You are in the Que choosing a champion. Hmm this fox looks cool, I think I will choose her. So you do. You then wait for that Shaco that has a computer ran by Gerbils for thirty minutes and finally get into the game. Once in game you dance for a few seconds in the summoner pool and purchase some items. You look at all the items that you wish you could have. But, what you do is decide to go with a Doran's Ring first. You then decide with your team how awesome you are going to be in your lane and find out that your nemesis, Kassadin is mid. You think to yourself, "****, what am I going to do with a Kassadin mid." But it is OK.

!!!Early Game!!!

All you have to do is play the lane game. What I mean by that is a little bit of poking while keeping up your farm. Early game your objective is to get the highest amount of creep score as possible. To poke those pesky opponents all you have to do is use your Charm (E) and follow it up with a nice Orb of Destruction (Q). After you have activated these two abilities, make sure to back up so that your opponent does not provide a quick counter strike that deals precious health to you. Continue to farm by last hitting. I cannot stress this enough. Last Hitting is the most important tool to keep in mind for early game. You need creep score to achieve any items. Now that you have completed your first six levels of Ahri, you continue into mid game.

!!!Mid Game!!!

Mid game is when you have that awesome ultimate. Use your ultimate to set up your kills. You can use it once to get into position while dealing the amount of damage that it offers, then use your Charm (E), and then follow with your Fox-Fire (W), Orb of Deception (Q), and Ignite. Then, while your enemy is scampering off use your ultimate the remaining two times and continue with any spells that have come off of cool down. Kill Confirmed. Continue farming and avoid getting ganked. Make sure to provide your team with the essential Missing In Action Calls and help your jungler set up ganks when possible. Make sure not to push your lane very far unless you are absolutely certain that you will not be disturbed. After mid game has been finished, on comes the most important part, late game.

!!!Late Game!!!

Late game is when your team fights come. Continue farming when possible but be there for your team. Make sure to grab the stragglers that are out of position with the ability sequence that I described above. Make sure to get lots of kills and have fun doing it.

Summary

Now that you know how to play Ahri, get out there and do it. Have fun and get lots of kills. Just remember that Ahri is still a carry and cannot take a lot of damage. She is strong and can eliminate an enemy within seconds. Remember to position yourself correctly for your abilities so that you don't die and you get kills.
