Karthus in my opinion is Ahri's easiest matchup by far. Karthus is very immobile and usually very squishy, so catching him with 1 Charm mid-late game will have a high chance of ending in a kill. Karthus has a very hard time trying to hit Ahri with his Q's too, especially when she is dashing around his dead corpse. Early game try to dodge any Q's he might throw at you and be careful of ganks with Karthus Wall as it can be very effective at securing kills.
Ezreal
Ezreal is a fairly simple and easy matchup. He has a hard time pushing a wave without using his ult which means it's easy to roam as Ahri and not worry about losing much mid. Ez is extremely squishy at all stages of a game too, so you can always burst him without even hitting a charm. His damage can be surprisingly high though so it is important that you try to dodge his skill shots. Potions are quite key to a poke heavy matchup too in order to make sure you can't get poked out of lane, because you can't dodge them all.
Zyra
Twisted Fate is one of the easiest matchups for Ahri due to how squishy and immobile he is. Lane phase he can be a bit of a pain if he just shoves with his Wild Cards (Q) and at 6 you must be careful of his ult to other lanes. A good thing to do is put deep wards in the enemy jungle so that you can see where he is going and warn of his Ult TP. You rarely even need to hit Charm in order to kill a TF so hitting it just seals the deal.
Twisted Fate
Zyra is an easy matchup because of how squishy she is all game. As Ahri you can literally just Ult in, Charm, Q, W and she'll be dead. The only thing you need to be careful of is being caught in her Grasping Roots (E) as full AP Zyra has a serious amount of damage with her abilities. But vs someone as mobile as Ahri, there isn't much a Zyra can do.
Cassiopeia
Cassiopeia is another matchup that Ahri excels in through her mobile ult and great burst damage. Pre 6 Cass can be quite tough with her poison spam, but starting boots should help a lot to dodge her moves. Post 6 fights are heavily in Ahri's favour as she can dash around and dodge almost everything Cass puts out. She is also another immobile champion so catching her with a charm is quite easy.
Fiddlesticks
Fiddlesticks is a relatively easy matchup for Ahri. In order for fiddle to get his damage off, he has to stand still and Drain, which sets up for an almost unmissable charm followed by an easy kill. Fiddle will be quite squishy throughout the game but you should watch out for the Hourglass. In lane phase he will likely throw his Dark Wind (E) at the minions to try and get bounces onto you so try to stand back from the minions when he uses E. The thing to watch out for with Fiddle are ganks aided by his Fear and Silence, if you aren't careful you can easily die to his CC. Make sure you buy Treads in this matchup.
Vel'Koz
Vel'koz is a very easy matchup for Ahri. It is so easy for Ahri to dodge every ability Vel'koz has. It is especially easy to dodge his Ult and hit an easy Charm. The only time Vel'koz becomes a slight problem is when he is sieging you at your tower, he has good poke and good damage so you have to still pay attention to dodging his spells.
Annie
Very, very hard matchup, she can fully burst you with her ult and there is almost nothing you can do about it. Tibbers can also be used to block Charm. Play safe, farm with Q and harass when you can. Annie is quite immobile however, so ganks or catching her out of place can easily end up in a kill.
LeBlanc
LeBlanc is one of Ahri's hardest counters. LeBlanc has the perfect kit against Ahri, quick burst damage, hard CC and very mobile/slippery making it hard to hit a charm. A good LeBlanc will be able to zone you from almost level 2 because you simply cannot trade with her. LeBlanc can have 2 dashes to put a lot of distance between herself and Ahri and her passive clone can also prevent some damage from Fox Fire (W) and Spirit Rush (R). The best way to kill a LeBlanc is to act as quickly as possible, getting all of your skills off immediately so that she does not have time to dash away and after her clone procs you can chase her down with the remainder of your ult charges. Early magic resist is also highly recommended in this matchup or she will simply insta-kill you.
Vladimir
Vlad is an extremely hard matchup for Ahri and he pretty much wins the lane from level 1. He has very good poke from the start with his Q and because it gives him life back it makes it hard to poke back with Orb. You will almost always be out-traded with Vlad so it's best to not even bother. He also has the ability to dodge everything you have with a well-timed Sanguine Pool and if you are ever low under tower expect a tower dive because he can lose the tower aggro by using his Pool. His ultimate amplifies the magic damage you take so make sure that you never fight him while it is on you. Hourglass is quite good against this because you can stasis the detonation of his ultimate just before the 5th second makes it pop. I suggest you start Boots or Flask in this matchup because you will need the extra sustain. Basically the only way that you can beat a Vlad in lane is from jungle help, otherwise just play very safe and focus 100% on farming and avoiding trades so that you will still be strong come mid and late game.
Kassadin
Kassadin is another tricky matchup for Ahri. The magic shield he gets from his Q enables him to out trade Ahri almost every time. The only way Ahri can equally trade with a Kass Q is by hitting the return on Orb of Deception (Q) as it does true damage. But Kass has a much easier time point and clicking so it's generally not wise to trade. Ahri's Q does outrange Kass though so you can get some favourable damage done by staying out of his range and throwing your Q's out. Unfortunately there is no real way to shut down a Kassadin as Ahri so the best thing to do is make sure you get as farmed, or more farmed than him so you are of equal power level.
Lulu
Lulu is an extremely hard matchup for Ahri, mainly due to how hard she becomes to kill with her Ult and Shield (E) while at the same time doing insane damage with Glitterlance (Q) and her Auto Attacks. She has very good poke in lane by using her E on a minion and then Q in in the direction you are in and it does quite a chunk of damage. The best way to play against a Lulu is to pay attention to where she places her E and then dodge the Glitterlance when it shoots out. Lulu is very hard to pin down and kill so I find the best way to play this matchup is to just play safe and farm. The best chance you have of killing Lulu post 6 is from a jungle gank.
Malzahar
Malzahar is one of the hardest matchups because his combo can kill you and there isn't anything you can do about it. Lane phase all a Malzahar will likely do is farm with his Malefic Visions (E). Play passive, keep up with farm. Jungle help would be the best way to get a kill on him due to his E pushing the waves in to your tower. Magic resist should be purchased in order to survive his combo and have a chance of killing him.
Swain
Swain is one of Ahri's hardest matchups. His 2 main harass abilities are unmissable and they do a lot of damage, there is almost no way an Ahri can out trade a Swain so I do not recommend even trying it. Ahri will also lose all in fights at level 6 due to Swains ability to cripple champions by slowing and rooting whilst gaining a load of health back from his ult. The best way to play this matchup is to play as safe as possible, trying your best to CS where you can. You will definitely need jungle help and you will most likely fall behind in CS, but as long as you are not dying you should be fine. Morellonomicon is a great item against a Swain as it will cut his ult healing by half when he is damaged.
Katarina
Katarina is a skill matchup, it can go either way really. It all relies on whether or not you hit your Charm when she ults. If you miss Charm then you will definitely lose the fight, and if you hit it then you will win the fight. She can be very annoying to lane against despite her being melee. She will constantly throw her Bouncing Blades (Q) at the minions hoping to get a hit on you. This can be a good thing though as it will naturally push the lane into your tower which can leave Kat slightly vulnerable to ganks. Hourglass can also work very well against Kat because if you miss or don't have Charm up you can Hourglass to prevent taking damage from most of her ult. Alternatively when she ults you can ult straight out and then back in once it has ended.
Morgana
Fairly even matchup, most of the time ends up in a farm lane. Morg can be quite hard to deal with because of her Black Shield making her un-charm able but Ahri has a nice kit against her being able to dash out of the ult chain and dodge binds so easily. Once Morg's Q and R are on cooldown she doesn't really have anything for a few seconds. Highly recommend getting Treads in this matchup to reduce duration of Bind and Ult.
Orianna
Orianna is another skill matchup in my opinion, it can go either way. Orianna has a very large amount of poke damage with her Ball so it is important that you stay well back so that she cannot hit you with it when she tries to farm minions or go for you. This matchup pre 6 is usually quite farm heavy with a bit of back and forth poke, but post 6 I would say Ahri has a slight edge from being able to dash around Ori dodging her abilities. You just have to keep an eye on where her Ball is and be ready for her ult. Early game do not try and trade auto attacks with her as she will do a lot more damage because of her passive.
Ryze
Ryze isn't so hard now that his Q has become a skill shot. It now stops at the first unit hit which means that you can avoid them by standing behind your minions. Ryze can still very easily lock Ahri down though with his instant cast snare which can make ganks very scary for Ahri. The best way to handle this matchup is to take advantage of his low Auto Attack range and spell cast range. Your Q will outrange most of what he can do and if he is playing so aggressively to try and zone you, call for a jungle gank and it shouldn't be too hard to punish him as he is also quite immobile.
Jayce
Jayce is quite a hard matchup for Ahri because of his insane ranged burst and he can get to Ahri quite easily with Hammer Form. Save your Charm for when he goes in for the swing with his hammer because when he jumps to you it becomes very easy to get a Charm off. Jayces that stay in ranged form and farm are a pain because it is hard to kill them and it could likely turn into a farm lane. Be aware of Jayce's position to try and predict his Shock Blast/Acceleration Gate combo.
Yasuo
Yasuo is a very annoying champion to play against. He isn't all that difficult but his Wind Wall makes it such an annoyance for Ahri as it literally blocks every single one of her spells. Yasuo is very easy to poke down with Q and autos though and if they are playing aggressively they can be easily ganked. One thing you should make sure that you always do is Auto him once when his passive shield is up, this will decay the shield allowing your spells to do full damage once his shield is drained.
Irelia
Irelia has an easy time against Ahri in the early stages of the game. It's very hard to bully her and stop her from farming and so it's often good to just ignore her and farm yourself. Save your Charm for when she jumps on you with her Q, or is right in your face. Watch out for any low health minions because she can use those to creep surf with her Q and get to you very quickly. Her E will stun you if you are higher health than her so watch out for that and buy Treads to reduce the time you will be stunned for. Rylai's is great in this matchup because you can easily kite her as she only has her Q to get to you and it's a fairly high cooldown. The health from Rylai's is also amazing against Irelia because it counters her True Damage on W and she also has mixed damage anyway. Finally, never fight her without Spirit Rush because you'll just die.
Brand
Brand is easier than most as Ahri. The 3 dashes on your ult make her perfect for dodging around his skills and it should be very hard for a brand to land a stun on you post 6. He does have an insane amount of damage though and if he does land a stun he can likely fully burst you. He is also extremely immobile which makes all ins or ganks on him easy to pull off.
Ekko
Not too hard of a matchup. The only time you'll struggle in in the early game. Ekko has insane burst in the early stages of the game and it's very easy for Ekko to poke you down with a couple of Timewinders and then jump on you with Phase Drive. Play quite safe in the first few levels and keep your distance. Watch out for his Parallel Convergence too. This is where he throws out a projectile and when it lands it will create a bubble and if you are standing in the bubble when Ekko enters it you will be stunned. Make sure that you never stand in his bubble because it's often the only way he can easily kill you. His ultimate is quite annoying and it can make it hard to actually kill Ekko because he'll just jump back when he's about to die. Ahri can deal with this quite well though because while Ekko is Charmed, he can't activate R and so if you manage to burst him down while he's Charmed he basically won't have an ultimate. Once you get your ult and start to get items it's very easy to poke him down with Orb and then go all in for a kill. First few levels are the only time where you can expect to struggle.
Cho'Gath
Cho'Gath isn't too hard and he's basically won through certain items. Early game, don't even try to harass or bully him because he'll just heal it all back from his passive. Keep your distance in this matchup because he will try to hit you with his Feral Scream while he's farming the minions and his Rupture can very easily end up in your death if it's paired with a gank. Morello will help cut his healing and the CDR is needed for more uptime on Spirit Rush. The second important item for this matchup is Treads. It will reduce the amount of time that you are silenced by his Feral Scream and it will allow you to get away from him and use your abilities sooner. The second major item to counter Cho is Rylai's. Cho is extremely easily kited and with Rylai's he basically can't get to you. The health also means that he won't be able to burst you down and it pretty much counters the True Damage on his Feast.
Ziggs
Ziggs is an average matchup although slightly easier than most, he is extremely easy to kill for almost all of the game due to the way that they build and he has very limited mobility that often won't be enough to get him away from a dashing Ahri. Ziggs is only really a problem during the laning phase. He has some of the best poke in the game and he can farm from a very safe distance with his Bombs. He is usually very safe from ganks too with his Satchel (W) and Minefield (E). Late game he does a lot of damage too but as Ahri with 3 dashes it usually isn't too hard to dodge his abilities and pull off a kill on him. Most games vs a Ziggs you will end up farming for most of the early game or if it is an aggressive Ziggs you might be able to get a gank off on him. But mid-late game is where you will shine in being able to kill him.
Nidalee
Nidalee is a simple matchup, she isn't very hard to kill as she tends to build like a glass canon in order to deal the maximum damage with spears. Make sure you try to dodge her spears by standing behind minions and keeping vision on her at all times. When she does engage on you in cat form it is quite easy to land a Charm and then kill her with all of your cooldowns. Early level 2 boots can greatly help in this matchup to make spear dodging easier.
Karma
Karma is an average matchcup, she has quite a lot of damage with her poke and she is quite mobile with her speed buffs. Karma also has a very effective shield and heal that can make it quite hard to kill her but generally it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Watch out for her Snare which starts as a leash to you, if it goes off you will receive a hefty amount of damage. Just farm and harass with Q until you find an opening to go in for a kill. Ahri's ult is also great for dodging her main source of damage (Q) and breaking the tether on her snare (W).
Urgot
Urgot is a failry average matchup. Your biggest advantage is that you should be able to poke him with Q quite easily due to his low auto range. Early game is to stay well behind your minions to block any Q's he throws out and if you get hit by his Noxian Corrosive Charge make sure you immediately back off as far as you can. Post 6 fights you should have the advantage by being able to dodge his E and some Q's with Spirit Rush. Watch out for is his ultimate, especially when used in conjunction with a gank. When you do get ulted by him it isn't too hard to just trade ults and get the hell out. Do not fight him when he has his E on you, you won't be able to win because you won't be able to dodge anything. Urgot is also very immobile so jungle ganks can be very successful. Due to his immobility it is fairly easy to hit him with a Charm at any stage of the game and if you ever catch him with some backup he will have no way of getting out.
Xerath
Xerath is a fairly simple matchup again because of his lack of mobility and that all of his skill are so easily dodged by Ahri's R. Xerath does have very strong poke though, which means I recommend early boots in order to dodge his abilities during lane phase. If he pushes the lane to try and siege you at tower he also becomes very vulnerable to ganks and having no mobility it can often end up in an easy kill.
Lissandra
Lissandra is a fairly easy matchup as she has very short casting range, making it easy to poke her down and always be in range of a Charm. Another reason the matchup is in Ahri's favour is because Lissandra's Glacial Path (E) has a very slow animation and she cannot instantly get from one place to another, it takes time, and in that time she can be Charmed and will be unable to travel to the end of the Glacial Path. The things you have to watch out for with Lissandra are her CC and her Ice Shard (Q). In lane phase you should stand way to the side of your minions so that when she Q's the minions the Shard will not split and hit you. Her CC is the main part of her kit you should be careful about as she can stun lock someone for a good 3 seconds. Paired with a gank and it becomes an easy kill. Because of her CC I recommend getting Treads in this matchup.
Lux
Lux is an average matchup because all of her abilities can be easily dodged by Ahri's Spirit Rush. Lux is also usually very squishy throughout a game so landing 1 Charm on her is usually all it takes to secure the kill. In lane phase she will try to hit you and the minions with her Lucent Singularity (E) so try and stand away from your minions. If she does hit you with her E she will most likely try to Auto you to get the passive proc which does quite a lot of damage, stand well back if you do get hit so that she cannot Auto you. Her passive lasts for 6 seconds so after that you can move back up again. When playing vs Lux remember that her Snare (Q) can hit 2 targets and it can travel through a minion that takes the first bind so a Lux will likely try to bind you if you are behind only 1 minion.
Heimerdinger
Heimerdinger is a fairly rare matchup but he isn't too tricky. The thing that makes Heimer so strong is his turrets and as Ahri you can outrange them and kill them with your Orb of Deception, essentially taking away his biggest tool from the fight. Heimerdinger will naturally push a lane when he places his turrets down so ganks are usually quite easy to pull off on him. Just make sure that you are aware of his turrets when you go in for a fight because they deal a lot of damage. He has some poke with his Micro-Rockets but you can avoid them by standing behind your minions and they aren't too hard to dodge. Basically the only thing you have to keep an eye on are his turrets because they are quite annoying for Ahri outside of their damage by being able to block Charm and charges of Fox-Fire.
Akali
Akali is a strange matchup; you have an easy time pre 6 but a hard time post 6. The best thing to do in this matchup is harass early with Q and autos. Jungle ganks can be used to secure an easy kill if you have a way to reveal her stealth such as Lee Sin or a pink ward. Never engage after 6 when your ult is down. Save your charm for when she jumps to you so that you can get an easy hit with it.
Anivia
Quite annoying to play against, dodge stun to avoid taking a lot of damage. Be careful for jungle ganks with her Wall. Be aware of her passive (Egg) when it's up and when it's down. Has a hard time CS'ing under tower so pushing early can gain you a lead in CS. But be careful of ganks. If you can't pop her Egg pre 6, try to roam when you get your ult because it will take too much to kill her and her Egg.
Galio
Galio can be a tricky matchup due to the general idea of how he scales with magic resist. A Galio will very quickly get a lot of magic resist but still do quite a lot of damage because of his passive. He is a very easy champion to farm with and he has good sustain with his Shield (W). His ult enables him to have some high burst damage too. Galio is a melee champion which means that auto attacking him early game is quite important. Because of the items he will be building you will probably have to get a very early Void Staff to do much damage to him. Try to stay out of range of his ult at all times so that you can charm him to interrupt the channel. Don't expect to get many kills against a Galio so try and roam as much as possible to find kills that way.
Viktor
Viktor is an average matchup. he wins the early game but due to his lack of mobility and that fact that Ahri can almost completely avoid his ultimate and Gravity Field (W) it's not as hard as it could be. Viktor can give Ahri quite a hard time in the early game as he does trade very well with his Q + Buffed Auto and his Death Ray (E). Avoid trading when he goes in for a Q + auto, play safe until 6 where you have a major advantage.
Azir
Azir is an iffy matchup, it can be quite hard but usually it isn't too bad. Azir is very good at poking with his sand soldiers and he has very good disengage with his ult, but he is quite a squishy champion with no sustain so killing him is not much of a problem. Early game he will likely try to bully you with his soldiers so play safe and farm until 6. You likely won't be able to kill Azir without your ult as they tend to play quite far back and CS with their soldiers. Make sure that you always stand away from his soldiers to stop them from hitting you but also to stop Azir from dashing towards one and knocking you up.
Diana
Diana is another very hard matchup for Ahri due to her having quite high burst and being able to stick to Ahri easily with her own dashes. She is similar to the Akali matchup only Diana has a fine early game being able to CS and harass with her Q. Play safe and try to dodge her Q's. Save your charm for when she dives onto you. You can auto attack her early game when she goes for CS as she is melee.
Fizz
By far my most hated matchup in League. Fizz is all kinds of annoying for Ahri to deal with. He can dodge everything you have to throw at him with his Playful/Trickster which will leave you dead in the water. His damage is high enough to insta-gib you too if you get caught by his R. Early game you want to try and harass him with Q and autos as much as possible as he is at his weakest in the first few levels. Make sure you try not to throw out your charm until you know he has used his Playful/Trickster otherwise you will never hit it. Use your ult to dodge his when he throws it at you, even if it ends up wasting your ult, it can save your life. Play safe and be aware of how easy he can delete you and dodge everything you have.
Syndra
Syndra is another one of Ahri's hardest matchups. This is because of how her kit allows her to blow up targets quite easily once a stun is hit. Syndra has very good early game poke with her Q and she can set up jungle ganks by stunning you with her E. It is very important in this matchup that you try to dodge her harass, boots start is one way to maximize the potential of avoiding damage. At level 6 do not engage in a straight up 1v1 unless you hit Charm prior to taking any damage. Even then you might still die to her Ult + Ignite. It is best to just play passive and wait for a gank or an opportunity with a nice Charm hit. This is another matchup that I would highly recommend Treads.
Talon
Another tricky matchup, Talon has insane burst that can insta-kill most mages if he catches them with a full combo. Being melee you can kind of harass him early game with autos and spells but he can also hit back with his Rake (W) so make sure you stand well back from him. Now that Talon has lost his silence he is much more manageable but he is still a scary foe and you must play with care. A good thing for you is that when he Rakes the minions or you he will inevitably push the wave making him easy to gank, take advantage of this as shutting down a Talon would mean he can't burst you down as well.
Veigar
Veigar is a very hard matchup for Ahri because of his entire purpose of deleting mages in an instant. Despite being a hard counter, the lane phase is actually fairly easy. Veigar will usually not bother you much as he will focus on farming up his AP with Q. You must watch out for ganks with his stun however; they can be very effective and will likely secure a kill on you if it is a jungle like Lee Sin or Jarvan. The most important buy in this matchup is Treads, as it lowers the duration of the Stun so that Veigar cannot easily land his Dark Matter (W) and I highly recommend getting early magic resist to stop his Q + R from instantly killing you. Because the lane phase should go fairly smoothly, you will be well farmed moving into mid-late game but be careful of Veigar Stun because he will prioritise you for his combo throughout the game.
Zed
Zed is quite a difficult matchup for Ahri due to how slippery he is and the entire matchup is based on whether you hit the Charm when he ults you. When Zed ults you he will appear behind Ahri, meaning that you have to throw your Charm backwards in order for it to hit. Once you complete Hourglass the matchup becomes a lot easier but Zed is a hard champion to lock down and kill. Early game you can't really harass him much as he will stay back and throw his Shuriken (Q) at the minions. The best thing to do is farm up until you get Hourglass and then you can fight him without worrying about missing Charm. Some Zeds will use there W aggressively to try and harass you, which also pushes the lane. This is a great time to get a gank as his only escape will be on cooldown.
Hi I am BP, and this is my guide to my beloved main, the AHRI.
Well the AHRI is a primary class champion: magician as his secondary is assassin.
Before you play with it is better to know how it works with videos on youtube for example to have you get the hang of how it works and especially his combos, simply because there are many.
PS: I'm sorry if I miss a sentence or something, it's because I'm Brazilian and I do not know how to write English very well.
Runes
Runes
It is always good to be safe than sorry, right?
So I prefer to use my runes like that but you can use the same runes Ap why not make so many more differences I always better to use a bit of armor from time to time (if you get my drift).
Magic Resist
magic resist is simple, since you are in the mid you will be against a (mostly) Ap champion, and you do not "disappear" with only one enemy skill you need a little magic resist.
Magic Penetration
You are a Mage.
Ability Power
The normal for every mage is the ability power.
Mana Regen
Being a mage Ahri needs mana (lots of mana) mainly because she spends a lot on her abilities, if you can not save mana without the blue I recommend you put on your rune mana regen.
Masteries
Masteries
The masteries I use the Assassin Ap but you can make changes to your taste like put instead of "Assassin" you can put "secret stash" for you to recover more mana and life.
Spells
Spells
Is really good use the spells "flash" and "ignite" but if you stay worried with your opponent is nice use the "barrier" and the "cleanse" or "exhaust" is a good option (ps:only use the exhaust in great concern).
If you know to be indented you can remove the "flash" and substitute for the other examples.
Farming
Farming
If the farm is always good you focus on being aggressive while farm ... is a good technique but it is always good practice to not give an opening to the enemy.
Skill Sequence
Skill Sequence
The choice of skills is especially of who is playing, but, I prefer this sequence of skills because:
The orb of deception is the best to start because you can use it to farm and it is also the skill that you should up.
The charm I prefer up per second but up it per second is the best option when you want to agressive more but if you are not so well and want to concentrate on the farm the best is up the W (Fox fire).
As I said earlier W is best when you want to get better on your farm being like this, you should know by now.
Spirit rush your R you simply go up because it serves both to escape and to deal damage.
Team Work
Team Work
She is very fragile so stay behind when you have a team fight is very good because at least you do not die so fast unless you have zhonya to leave (if you have so do not have to worry too much).
