His bleed can make it really hard for you to heal. Almost no way you win this matchup.
Wukong
Wins trades easily. Will try to poke you lvl 1. His knockup and clone will make it hard for you. Try your best to poke him with your q's but once they're on cooldown, you'll probably die. Don't use all three of your q's but limit yourself to 2.
Fiora
Extremely balanced champion I'd say. You don't win this matchup. Her parry, mobility, and ult will make it a living hell to play against her.
Sett
You have more range than Sett but he can easily run at you and ult or stun you. Poke him with your q's and if he's chasing you, q and e backwards to not die and maybe kill him.
Cho'Gath
Literally doesn't harm you. You beat him early and you can burst him down with Serylda's Grudge. Use your q's for poking as you would do for every matchup and you'll win against him easily.
Mordekaiser
You beat him early game but he can be a bit of a problem if you don't keep harassing him with your q. Try and save your ult when he ults you and kite kite kite. Q e backwards and force him to use his barrier. Stay out of his passive ring and dodging his abilities should be fairly easy.
Teemo
His blind barely effects you. You can't go for an all in at lvl 1 so try farming under tower till you hit 6. Then killing him should be no big deal.
Irelia
Dodge her stun and you'll probably win. If she has ignite, ask for a gank since you literally can't do anything against ignite as Aatrox. Poke her a lot early and try going for an all in at 6.
Jax
Jax can all in you lvl 2 so try and cs under tower. You won't beat him in lane so just try team fighting.
Illaoi
Dodging her abilities can be quite hard since they're so big. Try dodging her abilities as much as you can and ask for a gank since you don't beat her lvl 6.
Nasus
Don't. Let. Him. Stack. That's all you need to do against Nasus. Push up hard and harass him with your q and it's an easy win for you.
Renekton
His mobility and stun will make it difficult for you to play against him. There is a slight chance you can win this but in most cases you probably won't. Just try team fighting and poke him with q early game. If he goes in on you just run.
Maokai
You destroy early game but he can be a problem in team fights. Try not to push up too hard or else he'll bring you under tower and maybe a jungler will appear out of nowhere.
Riven
She wins trades because of her motility, stun, and barrier. use your q to try and get her low and try fighting her when her q is on cooldown.
The main goal when playing Aatrox is to annoy your laner with your q early game. He's does fairly well in teamfights but when cc'd hard, you'll in most cases end up dying. He get's countered easily by ignite and grievous wounds and isn't the best pick right now but that doesn't mean you should try him out.
Why Aatrox Isn't Good
Aatrox wins a lot of his matchups due to his strong early game but gets shutdown way to easily. If the enemy laner goes ignite and executioners or bramble vest first back, you're screwed. His q can be dodged easily if the enemy has a lot of mobility (Riven, Renekton, Vayne etc.). His w doesn't really have something that's really good in it. In fact, his w is very bad as it's easy to get out of and even if your w hits, there's no gurantee that it you will kill them when they get pulled in. It takes a while to pull the enemy and can be avoided easily. His e is very short and doesn't give Aatrox the best mobility but is good when paired with your q.
What is Good About Aatrox
Aatrox has a strong early game and is pretty good in teamfights and 1v1s. His q does decent dmg and when paired with your e, you win fights easily. His auto attack cancel is essential to winning fights. Aatrox isn't really the fastest auto attacker so that extra dmg with your e auto attack cancel is really good. His ult gives him insane healing and when paired with gore drinker, your q's and e's, It makes it hard for the enemy to kill you.
Why You Play Aatrox
You play Aatrox if you don't like dying. Aatrox is really good at 2v1s. Aatrox is also a fun champion to play but sometimes won't be if you have a tough matchup. Aatrox is also pretty easy to learn and teaches you a lot about the game such as wave clearing, poking, kiting, auto attack canceling and using item actives.
