Yasuo Passive Ability
Introduction
Hello everybody today I will walk you through a very in-depth Yasuo guide in the Top Lane. Yasuo is such great champion for it's playmaking potential and ability to hard carry games. This guide is mainly for top laners who want to learn Yasuo or Yasuo mains who want to be able to play him in the Top Lane.
Any feedback is appreciated and hopefully my guide will help you become a better Yasuo player
Pros
+ High DPS + Very fast mobility with Sweeping Blade + Tank killer + Amazing playmaking potential + Good farmer/Great split-pusher + Hard carry potential |
Cons
+ A lot of bad matchups + Really bad against hard cc and silence + Very bad when behind + Squishy if he is not ahead |
Runes
Greater Mark of Attack Damage Will help a lot for winning early trades. Yasuo has a lot of bad matchups top lane however these will help you solo kill them early and snowball.
Greater Seal of Scaling Health These are great because Yasuo's base health stats aren't that good compared to other top laners. Your Way of the Wanderer shield is already good enough for trading and the extra health will help. They also outscale the 9+ armor route.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist Pretty straight forward, these are the best against AP match ups and are just overall good late game against any AP champion.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed are very useful for Steel Tempest since it will reduce the cool down and you will have better trades. It will help your cs and trades overall.
Flash: This one is a must have on Yasuo. It allows for more playmaking and escapes. You can also do the Sweeping Blade Steel Tempest Flash combo so the enemy doesn't have time to react and guarantee your Last Breath |
Teleport: For top lane you will need Teleport so you can teleport bot for plays or so you can split push and then teleport to a teamfight. You want to be split pushing and putting pressure on sidelanes. Also if you die early you can Teleport back to lane and not fall so behind. |
-
Way of the Wanderer: This passive doubles Yasuo's crit so having 50% will turn into 100%. Not only that but it also builds up a shield as you move and when you are hit it blocks most of the incoming damage unless you're behind. Use it to trade whenever it is up and you will out trade your opponent 90% of the time.
-
Steel Tempest (Q): Steel Tempest has lower the cooldown based on the more attack speed you have, therefore building attack speed items will make it a 1.33 second cooldown ability. This ability also crits and it's Yasuo's main source of damage. If you hit 2 Q's the 3rd one will turn into a tornado which you can throw or use it after Sweeping Blade for a AoE(Area of effect) knock up.
-
Wind wall (W): It blocks all projectiles like Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow which makes it one of the best abilities in the game. In teamfights use it to block all the damage from the enemy ADC.
-
Sweeping Blade (E): This gives Yasuo so much mobility. You can use it to dash around minions, dodge skillshots, and engage on the enemy team.
- Last Breath (R): For the next 15 seconds after using it, Yasuo's critical strikes gain 50% bonus armor penetration. Use it on your opponent and you will win the skirmish. If used on 4-5 people on a teamfight it's like a guaranteed win.
Boots are situational and depends on the enemy team. If they have hard cc then go Mercury's Treads but if they have a lot of ad and lethality instead then go Ninja Tabi. |
This item is great on Yasuo. It has such good synergy with the champion because it lowers you Steel Tempest's cooldown and due to your passive you get 60% crit, it also gives you movement speed and makes you more mobile. For skirmishes it's great because you take 12% less damage from the enemy champion |
This item is great on the current meta and it also has great synergy with Yasuo. It's great for split pushing and 1v2s. It's also makes you a tank killer and you should have no problem 1v1ing tanks |
This item is literally made for Yasuo. You get more crit damage and it gets you a 100% crit when combined with Phantom Dancer. This is a core item and will give you so much damage |
This will give you really good tanky stats so you can survive longer in teamfights while dealing tons of damage. It's also great against crit ADCs. If they don't have any crit champions then you could easily swap it by a Dead Man's Plate. |
Build this against AP champions to survive their burst and be able to kill them. |
In teamfights Yasuo should try to ult the enemy carries and he will easily burst them down. Focus the enemy carries and after you've taken them down focus on the tanks. You want to use Wind Wall to block all the incoming damage from the enemy ADC, after they are dead you can focus on the tanks and should have no problem killing them with the 50% armor penetration from Last Breath and Blade of the Ruined King plus the 100% crit |
Overall Yasuo is really fun to play, and although most people play him in the mid lane, he can still be a very powerful top laner in the right hands. This is the end of my guide, hope you guys learned something :D and GL in SoloQ
