I'm X crispy lips X and I am a plat jungle/mid main with an unexplainable addiction to unconventional champions. Every once in a while I stumble upon something that works really well. This is my first guide, but I figure after a few hundred games with Kog, I've basically tried it all. Season 3 was my first season playing league and I carried myself to plat with AP Kog. Kog is even more viable as an AP caster in season 4 since the change to his Q that allows him to stay well away from the dangers of team fights. And plus, if Froggen can do it, you can do it, right?

I have to add this disclaimer to my guide. Kog'Maw is very vulnerable to gap closing assasins. If the enemy team picks Zed, Akali, Kha'Zix, etc., it's probably best to avoid AP Kog'Maw.

Obviously flash is a necessity. I have experimented with other summoners and found that barrier tends to be the most useful. Ignite requires you to get closer than you need to. The only summoner other than barrier that I found useful was ghost.

Farming with Kog'Maw becomes stupid easy once you hit your first item. The "E" "R" combo is easily enough to clear full waves mid game and late game one "E" is plenty for the whole wave.

Your role as AP Kog'Maw is to blast artillery pre-fight to chunk away at the enemies health. Once the fight breaks out... your role doesn't really change. Cast your "E" and "Q" at/through the front line and continue to fire artillery at the squishies in the back. Don't forget to weave in an auto attack every once in a while to proc Lich Bane.
