AP Shyvana Jungle for players in Iron to low Gold

By RandomJungler124124
Why should I play Shyvana?
Low elo junglers usually do the same mistakes that prevent them from climbing :
- They play champions that are weak in low elo, like Lee Sin or Elise, because they take a lot of skill to play, or because they are good early, but below gold, early kills are not that useful because your laners will usually throw away leads
- They do not farm a lot
- They do not focus objectives (Drakes, Heralds, Towers)
- They try to gank a lot and be a good teamplayer at all costs

AP Shyvana is not about that. It is about being selfish, having a LOT of farm, getting every objective, and destroying the enemy carries in teamfights.
What should I know about AP Shyvana?
AP Shyvana works because of her E in dragon form. It has insane range, a hitbox so huge it is almost impossible to miss, and big base damage as well as a huge AP Ratio. And with this build giving 45% CDR, it is up every 4 seconds or so.

Try and always keep an eye out on the minimap, ping allies if you think the enemy jungler is coming, try and track where the enemy jugler is. That is very useful for your team.

Disclaimer : your allies usually do not understand what AP Shyvana does, and will usually flame you (This is League of Legends after all). However, the flame stops miraculously when you start hard carrying the game. If they are annoying, mute them (DO NOT argue with them), say "just play", take a deep breath and focus on your game.

It was played in the LEC (The equivalent of the Premier League for LoL) by Jankos. Here is a link to a video he did, 1 year old but still relevant : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U37JTpeTnM8
Early Game - Lvl 1-3
My usual route is : Start on your red buff, then go for krugs, raptors, wolves, gromp, rift scuttler (If this route is done correctly, it spawns around the time you reach it, depending on your leash), then go into the enemy jungle, steal the raptors if they are up, leave a ward in the bush near the raptor pit, and leave another ward in the pixel bush in the river, then blue, then back.
Early Game - Lvl 4-5
After your first back, you have : vision on the bush in the enemy jungle, so you know where the enemy jungler is (Hint : if he is not on one side of the jungle, he is in the other one). Go for krugs and/or wolves and/or raptors, then try to get drake using your sweeper to check for wards.

Getting drakes is especially important because thanks to your passive, you do them really quickly, and it gives armor and magic resist.

Do not try to go for ganks, unless the enemy is out of position and low. You are useless at this stage of the game.
Rest of laning phase
It is time for the most useful advice in this guide :
DO NOT GANK LOSING LANES.
I will repeat because it is important :
DO NOT GANK LOSING LANES.
When I say losing lanes, I mean lanes that are already decided (big difference in minions, kills, lvl). If your Darius is 0/4 and the enemy Renek is 4/0, this lane is done and dusted, and if you decide to go there, you will give Renekton a double kill, after which he will proceed to back, tp bot, and get another double kill on your botlane.
And even if the gank works out, so what? Your Darius is still behind.
Instead, mute Darius and go mid or bot or drake or herald or counter jungle.

Try to do something on the map whenever your ultimate is up.
That can mean :
- Ganking bot : my favorite option. You can try to ult on your enemies, but usually, just use your ult to get to the right distance, throw your E in dragon form at the enemy botlane, they will die or take a lot of damage and back off, then push the lane with your allies and throw your E at them under turret. Even if they don't die, they will lose cs and this will free your botlane to put pressure somewhere else
- Ganking mid : the midlaner usually can't kill you by themselves, so using your ult on them can work. Other than that, same as ganking bot
- Ganking top : be careful that the enemy top isn't too far ahead
- Invading : your ult can be used as an escape as well. If you are 1 lvl ahead or in some matchups, you can try and kill the enmy jungler.
- If the drake or herald is up soon, it can be useful to keep your ult to fight for that

Also, whenever drake or herald is up, go for it, using sweeper to see if there are wards, and then if there are wards, clear it and think about going for the objective or not (if you think the enemy jungler is coming, don't go for it). If there are no wards, just take the objective.

Try and use herald before 14 minutes to get plate gold. Something I love to do is take herald, go top immediately, kill the toplaner or chunck him to 20% HP, then take the first 2 plates and finish the turret with the herald. This gives an insane advantage to your toplaner.

And the rest of the time, you should be farming. The aim is to have around 8 cs/minute at least (That's 2 camps per minute on average).
Mid-Game - Teamfights
If you don't have ult, go into the jungle and farm until you have it. Ping your fury bar and send "Be careful" pings to your team so they back off.

Then in teamfights, DO NOT TRY TO GO IN WITH YOUR ULT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. You are not tanky, you will die and fast.

Instead, you can use your ult to push back an assassin or a tank that is destroying your backline (Garen, Zed, Renekton). Try and auto attack their frontlane (The Nashor's Tooth gives you decent damage with your auto attacks) as it will increase the duration of your ult. Even though you are not tanky, the enemy frontline will rarely focus you in my experience (which is a mistake, they should)

And use your E whenever you have it, in direction of the enemy carries. If you land it, they will lose half their HP and have 2 choices :
- Going back and leaving their frontline to die
- Staying and dying super quickly as they have so little HP
Iron to gold players will usually stay and die.
Late-Game
Be careful to avoid getting caught (you are not tanky),don't fight without your ult.
