Champion Build Guide
As Bard mid you want to: - roam a lot early and support scuttler - hit good stuns and deal a lot of damage - initiate fights with Q, E and R - peel for teammates - use Tempered Fate effectively |
Bard is great at roaming. He has insane mobility with Magical Journey and can initiate fights by hitting a good Cosmic Binding. He can catch people with Tempered Fate and peel for allies with Caretaker's Shrine. You can also support scuttle early, because you always have a place to proc your Cosmic Binding on (a river-wall or just the crab). Your early damage is also very high. |
Bard has very high burst-damage with meeps and Electrocute (lvl. 1 Q + AA combo (with Doran's Ring) does 52 + 168 = 220 damage). You can lock targets down with Cosmic Binding easily and secure easy kills. Avoid 1v1ing in open spaces, since there will be few opportinities for you to get your stun off and walk away. Remember: Cosmic Binding continues a fixed distance after hitting the first enemy. This can both increase and decrease the range the Q travels compared to the indicator. |
If you are going for a roam, you can either use your Magical Journey in the river or before to get around the map more quickly, or you can use it at the entrance of the lane to quickly flank the enemy laner. You should always look for engage Cosmic Bindings to pick up a quick kill and start a fight. If you or your allies are too far away from a single enemy to engage onto them, you can use Tempered Fate to catch them and line up an easy Cosmic Binding. |
In fights you can use Caretaker's Shrine to peel for allies, or to help your allies close up to the enemies with the MS buff. You can use it on yourself to heal some health back and escape, but remember, that the animation locks you in place for a moment, which can cost you your life in some situations. Sometimes when escaping it's better to just go for a chime lying around to gain some distance and then W. |
Tempered Fate is a very versatile ability, which can be used in many different ways. While roaming you can use it to angage onto the enemy laner. Just R them to line up an easy Cosmic Binding and secure a kill or draw summoners. You can peel for allies by Tempered Fateing either them or the threat to either kill them while keeping your carries safe or to have your allies gain ground. Next to taking champions out of the fight, you can also take monsters of turrets out of the fight. If you want to towerdive the enemy toplane, just R the tower after engaging to take little to no tower shots. You can stall baron, save your turrets or R their team to steal drake. Tempered Fate is very versatile. |
