PROS

• Her ultimate ability and Vastayan Grace gives her great mobility.
• Charm is a great means of isolating enemies, making them great targets for you and your team.
• Thanks to the tutorials, she's probably your first mid-lane heroine if you're playing on a fresh account!

CONS

• Greatly relies on positioning and on allies to initiate in order to be effective.
• Damage is solely reliant on Ability Power - making it difficult to kill enemies who greatly invest in items that improve their Magic Resistance.
• Damage from Fox Fire and Spirit Rush don't always go towards your intended target because of positioning of yourself and/or enemies.

Ahri is a heroine that's at her best alongside allies that can back her up in fights - or better yet, start them for her so she can finish them. See the "Synergies" tab for a detailed list of heroes I find to fit the bill.

In the laning phase, try harassing your opponent using Ahri's Orb of Deception. If possible, try maximizing the distance so that Ahri's Orb of Deception hits your opponent just before it returns to her.

If you'd like to get some kills during your laning phase, wait until you can secure a kill using Charm. Of course, I don't recommend you do this once you immediately get a level into Charm. Rather, you should wait until you can spec a level into Spirit Rush - then you're have ample opportunity to go all-in and get some kills.
