Hello ya'll, I'm a silver scrub thats been around a few seasons. I'm here to help out my fellow iron and bronzies. This is my first guide, written from my personal experience playing Cait. It's by no means a definitive guide to the champ and how to fully utalize her. I would encourage doing more research with other guides/vids/pros to better your knowledge depth on Cait.

Overall, she's a great ADC for beginners to to spend time mastering. Her base damage and range gives her an early game advantage. So you should be AA and trying to bully the enemy lane when not cs'ing.


Additionally, with the recent durability patch, Cait can be useful to secure dragons quicker.

Unfortunately, Caitlyn does fall off mid to late game.

This is your main 'damage' ability, used mainly to harrass / damage during fights. There is about '1 second' cast/delay time where you can't do anything as the ability is casting. Enemies can try to side step while you're 'widning up' the ability.

Combo: wait for an enemy to step on a trap, then use your 'Q' to guarantee damage.

Useful for a multiple array of uses. These can be temporary wards as they grant temporary vision when placed. If you're unsure if an enemy is lurking in a bush, throw down a trap.

Traps root an enemy chamption for 1.5 seconds.

Make sure to stack traps defensively or offensively. Enemy laners looking to tower dive you, place traps around you so they can't dive. If your lane is pushing, as it naturally should, you can place traps behind you to help prevent ganks.

Mainly used for repositioning, weather it's to chase an enemy or escape. If the net hits an enemy, they are slowed for a brief second.

Remember to shoot in the opposite direction you want to go.

After a brief channel time, Cait will fire a bolt at her enemy. This is a point and click ability, so the enemy has to be visible in your 'range'. Some players tend to save this, hoping to secure a kill after a team fight. Alternatively, it can be used to lay down damage if an enemy is at half hp, etc...

Note: this ability can be blocked by an enemy walking in front of the target. So if you ult the enemy adc and the support walks directly in front, the support will take the damage.

Even though your support will be doing the bulk of the warding, do your part as well. Use a trap and your trinket to help establish vision. About midgame, switch your trinket out for the blue trinket to help ward objectives from a distance. I don't see a lot adcs do this but it's really helpful to have at least one blue trinket on the team.
