Hi, i'm Big_Teemo_is_watching_you (username is Alex26000). I will explain you why pick Thresh mid and when pick / don't pick him.

Why Thresh AP mid?

Thresh AP mid works quite well thanks to his infinite ap which synergize well with Rabadon's. He can do a full combo for 190% of his AP + (souls + 200% ad) = 190% AP + Souls + 200% AD.
(With DFG 228% AP + Souls + 200% AD)

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-Infinite AP
-Tanky late game for an AP carry
-Great utility and damage

Cons:
-No escape
-Ratios need a lot of AP
-Need some skills to hit
-Teammeates will flame you

How to trade and harass

Always open a trade with or and then combo with or (and if you want to kill him).
When you harass, use and, ONLY if you have HP regen or want a full combo, link it with .

The farming phase

The farming phase is VERY important with Thresh (more with Thresh AP). With this collect, your AP will up of 0.75 (0.975 with Rabadon) thanks to . Favor farming to harass/poke since when you will arrive late game / very late game, nobody will survive to your Q-E-R combo with DFG (except tanks).

When pick/don't pick him

Pick him when you are against a champion who doesn't have any escape, or one or two with long-cooldown, so you can hook him easily.
Don't pick him against high mobility champions, as you won't be able to hook them.
