You should mainly be looking to play around your adc as zilean even if they fall behind this is usually the best thing to do.

if your adc refuses to group afther you have taken the t1 turret in botlane feel free to leave him alone there on his own risk.

you should really be looking to group but do not take any minions as taking the minions can really set your laners behind or make them unable to purchase their next big item powerspike.

You dont want to be a burden to your team so be respectfull to them and let them have the gold

Kleptomancy simply gives zilean everything he needs, potions wards gold for items and you could even sell the adaptive force item or things you dont need you get from kleptomancy, sometimes it even gives you a free skill point and potions are very good on zilean as he is a squishy champion and very safe aswell with this build and the runes i recommend for him

Why would you want to take either scorch or transcendance?

Well, Scorch simply gives you a bit better poke in lane allowing your adc to all in enemies quicker even though zilean himselve already has good poke if he lands some Q's

Transcendance gives Cdr at level 10. adds scaling through converting cooldown reduction to ap.

I know it might seem like a good idea to build Deathcap every game, especially while having such a low ultimate cooldown late game, the negative to deathcap however giving you and your team less safety that you could get from a banshees or shurelyas.

Yes it is a good item, but ur a support and its also very expensive to buy aswell, most of the time you wont even get to that point in to a game that you could afford a deathcap and an elixer.

And No this item being expensive is not a reason for you to take cs or gold from your laner what you can do however is q w q the enemy jungeler's raptor camp and hope its up.

this will give you a little more gold income and deny the enemy jungeler the small raptors.

I simply do not agree with taking comet or any other rune than kleptomancy on zilean as it gives you no gold, no potions no wards no free skillpoints which are all things kleptomancy will either give or could possibly give.

and even against bad matchups or ranged matchups, when you stun someone you could proc kleptomancy off of them and it will add up in to the mid-late game.

Please do not pick zilean in midlane, he simply has the perfect kit for support and i believe he should only be picked as support.

Well, to put it simply zilean can safe his adc with his ultimate.

zilean can give his adc movementspeed with his e, zilean can reduce his q and e cooldown with his w zilean's ultimate has a low cooldown lategame allowing you to use it very soon afther it having safed one of your allies.

and so there are some things like landing your stun that might be a bit more difficult as zilean.

knowing when to ult someone, here is where experience comes in but once you know these things and get good at landing the stuns he will outdo any other ap support in utility or damage.

if you care about getting honored by ur teammates zilean is the perfect champion for you to play as support.
