Now to get started.

I have been playing Riven since she has came out, ever since S3 update, she is jesus solo top.

I have done two items build for you, one for versing heavy ad such as Irelia and one for versing annoying off-tank AP's such as Rumble.

PROS

High damage

Pretty tanky

Very high mobility

Low-CD Execution ult

AOE stun that deals damage

No mana/energy/fury or whatsoever

CONS

Not as tanky as other (off)tanks but can be

Weak to hard CC and armor

Proper skill timing is essential

Marks:

9x Greater Mark of Armor Penetration
Best marks for Riven in the game, with that early armor penetration you should easily score a first blood if your team decides to invade, if not well you should for sure get first blood at top.

9x Greater Seal of Armor
Your typical seals for any solo top player, great for sustain against champs like Gankplank

9x Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Once again, your typical Glyphs for any solo top.

3x Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
Good for your early game farm and harras with Riven

BUILD 1 - AD Heavy

Depending on who you are versing, is what you will build first.

Irelia - Gangplank = Cloth Armor + 5x Health Potion

For any other champions, such as - Renekton - Rumble etc. - Boots + 3x Health Potion

Ninja Tabi - you can stay in your lane longer, due to the armor, and won't have to worry about the op minions.

The Brutalizer - After season 3 patch, this builds into Black Cleaver which is seriously one of the most op items atm in LoL.

Last Whisper This i believe to be one of Riven most common items. the extra armor pen you receive will make you unstoppable as Riven

Frozen Mallet Another good item that is decent, wth its passive slow + extra health, makes riven unbeatable and hard to run away from.

Atma's Impaler Gives you some nice armor to be able to survive through team fights.

Warmog's Armor great late game item, will give you some more survivability for late game + extra damage from Atma's Impaler

Build 2 - AP Heavy

Mercury Treads Now that they have magic resist and the tenacity, will make riven very strong early game against them hard ap's to get you fed.

Ravenous Hydra New item for melee fighters, this item is great to beat your opponent in farm, the aoe on creeps make you the absolute best creep farmer in the game.

Last Whisper Once again this item is just great for Riven

Maw of Malmortius Great item for a heavy AP team, if you are having trouble in lane against Teemo or Rumle try to rush the Hexdrinker first it will give you some more sustain against AP's

Mercurial Scimitar Great item versing a champion with any kind of slow etc., such as Gangplank you will be able to instantly pop the item and fight with all your combos.

Guardian's Angel Last but not least, this item will keep you going for team fights, even if you do die, you come back with your Q ready and it is instant death for the opponents.

Sight Ward - These are your best friend for top, make sure you try to always buy at least one to ward river, if you can, try to grab at least 2, so you can ward river and tri-bush.

Flash + Ignite - Most Standard spells for any solo top.

Flash + Exhaust - I personally only ever take exhaust if i'm versing Renekton or Gankplank - both these champions can catch up to you even after you use your combos to get away, so Exhaust is a good spell for them.

Always remember BUY WARDS it annoys me if i'm jungling and my top has not bought wards, i'm fair sure every jungler would agree with me in saying my top lane never buys wards.
