Introduction

Hey Guys!

I used to be the highest ranked Zed Main on the Eu West Server and today I want to teach you something about the Champion that I've been playing for 4 years now.
And I am actually the only person who received coaching from LL Stylish himself. (Yes I have proof of that).

Zed is the most iconic Assassin in League of Legends, with a kit that has been pretty balanced since release. Due to his high pickrate I would say that the community agrees with me, when I say that he is a very unique and fun champion.

His job is to eliminate high priority targets with Death Mark and get out with Living Shadow.

He excells at splitpushing because of his good Waveclear with Living Shadow, Razor Shuriken and Contempt for the Weak.
Thus he can create enormous pressure on a sidelane, which will alow the rest of your team to force a fight against the weaker links of the enemy team and maybe even sneak a big objective.

I hope I can maybe teach you a thing or two about Zed that you didn't already know!

cheers and thanks for clicking on my guide.

Spells

Razor Shuriken

This ability allows you to get some free cs from long range that you wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
It also allows you to poke Melee opponents when they try to go for cs.

Living Shadow

This ability allows you to make quick escapes over walls.
You can also use it to combo your Shadow Slash and Razor Shuriken for some quick and safe poke. You can also do some neat outplays in combination with Death Mark.

Shadow Slash

This in combination with your Living Shadow slows your opponent, making it easier for you to lane Razor Shuriken. Keep in mind that this also reduces the cooldown of your Living Shadow by 2 seconds for each enemy champion you hit with it, giving you even more escape/outplay potential.

Death Mark

Zed's most iconic ability. His primary all in tool with a lot of outplay potential.
This ability can also be used to escape and dodge enemy skillshots with.

Tipps and Tricks

Since I've been consistently spamming Zed since Season 4, I got a list of tipps and tricks some people might not know about.

- Try to have your Serrated Dirk Passive up before you poke or engage on someone to maximize your damage output. That 40 damage also counts towards your Death Mark pop, which will increase the chances of getting a solokill tremendously.

- Using Living Shadow and instantly swapping places with it will change the direction you leave your Ultimate depending on where you placed Living Shadow.
This is very useful against enemy champions who throw their CC behind themselves to predict your landing spot ( Charm, Steel Tempest, Petrifying Gaze)

Moar Tipps and Tricks

- When playing against Champions with Camouflage Try to use Ignite before they enter their Camouflage so you can see their silhouette, which makes it easier to predict your Razor Shuriken.

- Cleanse removes Exhaust. So you can take this against Matchups where you are sure that the enemy will take Exhaust. It's usually only worth if you can counter some of their cc along the way with it ( Petrifying Gaze, Pick A Card, Frozen Tomb).

- Keep in mind that you need to shove your lane before roaming to a sidelane so the enemy midlaner is stuck at his turret with a whole minion wave, making it impossible for him to follow, unless he sacrifices that said minion wave.

- When farming with Razor Shuriken make sure you don't hit the unwanted minions as this will cause the lane to stay even or maybe push towards your enemy. You absolutely do not want to push your lane because it makes you vulnerable to Jungle Ganks unless you never use Living Shadow which will leave the enemy midlaner untouched.
Hitting the enemy midlaner with your Razor Shuriken while farming with it can turn the lane in your favor very quickly.

- If you are having troubles with hitting Razor Shuriken on your enemy, you should try to set your Razor Shuriken on Smartcast with range indicator. It's personal preference though.

Poke Combo

1. Basic Poke Combo
Use Living Shadow either to the left or right side of your enemy, use Shadow Slash for the slow and then fire Razor Shuriken. You throw Living Shadow at an angle to the enemy because it makes it harder for the enemy to dodge your Razor Shuriken.

The Line

The Line
'The Line' is a very basic Combo when you want to kill people.
Credits to Azoh for making this Video! Would highly recommend checking out his YouTube Channel if you want to learn more in depth about Zed.

Febiven Combo

Febiven Combo
I'm calling this the Febiven Combo because this is the Combo he used to solokill Fakers Azir.
This is the Combo you are going to use when you want to surprise your opponent with some quick damage.
Since you used Razor Shuriken before ulting, your Basic Attack and Shadow Slash will instantly proc Electrocute. The Electrocute Damage will also be counted towards your Death Mark pop.

Kite Combo

Kite Combo
As the name suggests, you use this combo to take as little damage as possible and to maybe even dodge some crucial spells from the enemy.
Here's an example.

Kite Combo

As you can see, I used Death Mark on Orianna, placed my Living Shadow behind her, went back to my Death Mark shadow and then switched places with my Living Shadow to finish her off with Razor Shuriken and Shadow Slash.

Kite Combo
The second variation of the Kite Combo would be to use Living Shadow in a safe spot, then Death Mark your opponent, switch places with your Living Shadow and use Shadow Slash into Razor Shuriken via your Death MarkShadow and watch the enemy die to your Death Mark. This is mostly only good when you are low HP and can't afford to take a hit.

Shadow Reset

With rank 5 on your W Living Shadow and ~30% Cooldown Reduction you can fully reset the Cooldown of Living Shadow by hitting your E Shadow Slash on 4 enemy Champions. This allows for some neat and unexpected mobility outplays.

All in Combo

This is the Combo that will guarantee you a kill the enemy.

The key is the be patient after using Death Mark.

Press R on your opponent, wait until you can get a good angle for your Living Shadow or until they use their escapes such as Flash, Arcane Shift etc.

Then procceed to do your normal W E Q Combo on them. If you are standing right next to them, you will get the increased slow from your W which will guarantee your Tripple Razor Shuriken.
