Threats & Synergies
Big Skill Matchup The recent itemization and rune changes changes has made Vlad a lot stronger than Zed because it allows him to get 41% Cdr as soon as he hits lv 10, allowing him to perma shove you in and win short/long trades. Just use R to get an extra shadow or to dodge his big Aoe (E) because the Death Mark itself will most likely never deal any damage to him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1r8pMpKuXA Watch this Video to get a better understanding of this matchup
Unbeatable unless you get a gank or she fucks up very hard, start taking short trades with Lv 4.
Play super aggressive and you should be able to solokill Lv 4. Try not go get poked too hard in lanephase and you should win all ins and outroam her without any problems. Aftershock Lissandra can be annoying, but you have a big window to kill her when Aftershock is on CD. Generally a pretty easy matchup Force Bone Plating with Q and then use W E Q to trade.
Also one of the easier matchups in my opinion. After lv 4 you should look for trades or even all ins. Try to get Lv 6 before her and all in her for the kill. Either W E, take W AA dodge Charm with R and murder her or straight up R, wait for her to dash and then W tripple Q.
Also pray to god that you have a decent jungler. She will most likely take teleport against you, so you can't allow her to shove pre 6 in order to get item advantage. Just try to somehow bait her tp and outroam her.
Skill Matchup. Rush Hexdrinker and hope that he's too stupid to R you after you come out of your ult. Your chances of killing him pre 6 are pretty bad because of his Passive Shield. You outscale him pretty hard, you should use that to your advantage. Of course Qss fucks him really hard
Pain in the ass pre 3 Make sure you get Lv 4 with an equal amount of pots as she has, you win lane from that pretty hard. Quick tip: If she uses E then Q's again, she can't control the ball for ~5 Seconds, use that to all in her.
Also a Dorans Shield/Second Wind matchup, he pokes the f... out of you in lane. You should be able to outroam and solokill him after Lv 4 when you have Hexdrinker.
You can abuse the fuck out of him since he lost ~50 HP at level 1.
This is a coinflip matchup. I would always go Cleanse against her, even if she doesn't have exhaust. Try to dodge as many Q's as possible. After Lv 5 you should win because of your damage output. Dorans shield is a great item against her if you are not confident at dodging her Q's.
You usually solokill Corki at Level 5, Exhaust is not a big deal, you can just kill him through it.
Rush Hexdrinker and respect her damage output. She has high base HP which makes it hard for you to kill her. Quit trading when she pops W.
In this matchup you have to rely on his mistakes. Do not take any trades with him, let him start the trades. When he E's on you, just place W behind yourself and Q E him. He loses every trade that way.
I always take exhaust and rush hexdrinker against this guy. try to either dodge the initial cast of the Shark or when it pops up with R. W away from his E and you should win trades/all ins. Also here try to Q him when he goes for last hits.
Don't walk too close to Daggers laying on the ground, try to Q whenever she goes for a cs with a melee attack, rush hexdrinker, all in er at 6 and tripple Q her while shes ulting.
Punish him as much as you can. Q him when he goes for a minion, force him to use Q to cs so he can't use it on you. After 6 you R -> wait for him to ult -> W on him and tripple Shuriken him for a quick kill. He outscales you hard though, keep that in mind.
One of the easier matchups, Lv 6 you should win all ins. Make sure to keep track of her W Pad and dodge either Q W or E with your R. Quick tip: W onto her when she's about to W to dodge it.
Take Cleanse and show her who's boss. You take cleanse because she will most likely go Exhaust and if not you can use it against her E and surprise her. If she steals your Cleanse it's pretty much useless for her. You can kill her after Lv 5 and snowball from there.
Abusable pre 6, but after 6 just perma shove and roam.
A good TF Player can make lane hell for you. But a bad one is free 300 gold every time he comes back to lane. If you are looking for an all in, try to dodge his Gold Card with Death Mark and beat him. Don't walk too close to your minions when he has a red card up. When his W is down it is usually a good time to all in him even pre 6. Keep him pushed in so if he roams he at least loses a wave and you get some turret plating gold.
Rush Hexdrinker, after lv 5 you should win short trades and kill her at lv 6.
Try to hit Lv 6 before him and all in him immediately after you hit 6. You need to snowball before he's unkillable because of his R. Respect his lv 2/3 damage output because he will most likely have 2 points in W which makes him stronger than you. Make sure you back off when you have 2 Passive stacks on you because he can kill you pretty easy with passive proc. Quick Tip: Ignite reveals his Silhouette while in R, makes it easier to predict Q's.
If you don't force her to back after a trade she will win because she can throw Q at you while you try to get back behind your minions. Either make her disappear or don't try to swap with your W
Skill matchup, good luck
Let him shove so you can get cs under tower without him poking you. Look to harass him whenever you can and all in him at lv 6 for a free kill.
Same as Cassiopeia. Matchup can be more difficult if the Xerath is good.
You win this at every stage of the game. Your poke is stronger, you have enough mobility to make his E useless and your ult can be used to dodge his ult, which is his primary damage tool.
Karthus is a free lane he cannot stop you from getting onto him he will outrade you lvl 1-2 if he uses his abilities on you only. But this will leave him with no mana So you get a free lane afterwards lategame karthus wins from you as killing him in a teamfight wont make much of a difference
dont stand close to minions and Q farm early at 6 get a hexdrinker if you are losing or dirk when winning Force her ult with w-e-q combos then go in for the kill afterwards. Or use ult to gapclose when you know you can kill her after her ult expires. Kayle outscales you hard late tho
She wins pre 4. Post 4 you can start taking trades with her. Lv 6/7 you can easily all in her.
Dodge W or E with Death Mark and you win the all in. Proc Bone Plating with Q and trade with W E Q afterwards.
Prepare to get shoved in constantly pre Lv 4. Make sure to keep your distance from your own wave because he's gonna W it and since he puts 3 points into W early it will do more damage than Q. Rather dodge W than Q. After 6 W E Q, dodge his E with Death Mark and force sums or kill him.
You lose trades early, but you should be able to kill him once you hit 6. Dodge his E Chain with R so he doesn't get to proc aftershock, ignite so his W doesn't heal him as much. In case he steals your R just wait for him to cast it and throw your Qs behind yourself for nasty damage.
Perfect jungler if you need someone to finish the kill if your Death Mark wasn't enough to finish.
I used to be the highest ranked Zed Main on the Eu West Server and today I want to teach you something about the Champion that I've been playing for 4 years now.
And I am actually the only person who received coaching from LL Stylish himself. (Yes I have proof of that).
Zed is the most iconic Assassin in League of Legends, with a kit that has been pretty balanced since release. Due to his high pickrate I would say that the community agrees with me, when I say that he is a very unique and fun champion.
His job is to eliminate high priority targets with Death Mark and get out with Living Shadow.
He excells at splitpushing because of his good Waveclear with Living Shadow, Razor Shuriken and Contempt for the Weak.
Thus he can create enormous pressure on a sidelane, which will alow the rest of your team to force a fight against the weaker links of the enemy team and maybe even sneak a big objective.
I hope I can maybe teach you a thing or two about Zed that you didn't already know!
cheers and thanks for clicking on my guide.
This ability allows you to get some free cs from long range that you wouldn't be able to get otherwise.
It also allows you to poke Melee opponents when they try to go for cs.
This ability allows you to make quick escapes over walls.
You can also use it to combo your Shadow Slash and Razor Shuriken for some quick and safe poke. You can also do some neat outplays in combination with Death Mark.
This in combination with your Living Shadow slows your opponent, making it easier for you to lane Razor Shuriken. Keep in mind that this also reduces the cooldown of your Living Shadow by 2 seconds for each enemy champion you hit with it, giving you even more escape/outplay potential.
Zed's most iconic ability. His primary all in tool with a lot of outplay potential.
This ability can also be used to escape and dodge enemy skillshots with.
- Try to have your Serrated Dirk Passive up before you poke or engage on someone to maximize your damage output. That 40 damage also counts towards your Death Mark pop, which will increase the chances of getting a solokill tremendously.
- Using Living Shadow and instantly swapping places with it will change the direction you leave your Ultimate depending on where you placed Living Shadow.
This is very useful against enemy champions who throw their CC behind themselves to predict your landing spot ( Charm, Steel Tempest, Petrifying Gaze)
- Cleanse removes Exhaust. So you can take this against Matchups where you are sure that the enemy will take Exhaust. It's usually only worth if you can counter some of their cc along the way with it ( Petrifying Gaze, Pick A Card, Frozen Tomb).
- Keep in mind that you need to shove your lane before roaming to a sidelane so the enemy midlaner is stuck at his turret with a whole minion wave, making it impossible for him to follow, unless he sacrifices that said minion wave.
- When farming with Razor Shuriken make sure you don't hit the unwanted minions as this will cause the lane to stay even or maybe push towards your enemy. You absolutely do not want to push your lane because it makes you vulnerable to Jungle Ganks unless you never use Living Shadow which will leave the enemy midlaner untouched.
Hitting the enemy midlaner with your Razor Shuriken while farming with it can turn the lane in your favor very quickly.
- If you are having troubles with hitting Razor Shuriken on your enemy, you should try to set your Razor Shuriken on Smartcast with range indicator. It's personal preference though.
I'm calling this the Febiven Combo because this is the Combo he used to solokill Fakers Azir.
This is the Combo you are going to use when you want to surprise your opponent with some quick damage.
Since you used Razor Shuriken before ulting, your Basic Attack and Shadow Slash will instantly proc Electrocute. The Electrocute Damage will also be counted towards your Death Mark pop.
The second variation of the Kite Combo would be to use Living Shadow in a safe spot, then Death Mark your opponent, switch places with your Living Shadow and use Shadow Slash into Razor Shuriken via your Death MarkShadow and watch the enemy die to your Death Mark. This is mostly only good when you are low HP and can't afford to take a hit.
The key is the be patient after using Death Mark.
Press R on your opponent, wait until you can get a good angle for your Living Shadow or until they use their escapes such as Flash, Arcane Shift etc.
Then procceed to do your normal W E Q Combo on them. If you are standing right next to them, you will get the increased slow from your W which will guarantee your Tripple Razor Shuriken.
