By Elpatronchico
Introduction
π–•π–†π–™π–—π–”π–“π–Žπ–Ÿπ–™π–†
---

Hello, I'm π•»π–†π–™π–—π–”π–“π–Žπ–Ÿπ–™π–† and i'm a Yasuo main with about 1 million K pts.

I've played Yasuo since he came out, and i've got great success with him.

But Yasuo is a very hard and mechanical champ, that often rely's on his Q's, as well as his E

Why Yasuo ?

Quoted:
Death is like the wind, always by my side

Yasuo is a very hard champ to master. Even the ones who played him for a while, often learns new things and combo's with him. He is often very good at taking out squishier champs, but struggle with tanks and bruisers. I see many people often get's so good with this champs and so many kills, that they end up greedy and always try to kill instead of focusing on objectives,CS and helping your teamates out.
I would say that the first you should do if you are new to this champ, is to train on getting CS and focus on freezing waves, so you have a better time killing your enemy

Fleet Footwork VS Conqueror

This often get's confused. When should I pick Lethal Tempo and when should I pick Conqeuror ?

Lethal Tempo is often good against teams, or midlane enemy who can poke you very well, as well as hard mashups that you don't want to engage fights with, but to poke them and eventually kill them.
Conqueor is often used for enemies with high AD, like Garen, Talon , Singed , Aatrox etc. Altough Conqeuror is very good with Yasuo , it is not viable for every game, because it dont give you that much needed health you get from everything you hit as you get from conqueror.

Very strong when the enemy is pushed up and a new minion wave is approaching. This allows him to use his Sweeping Blade
E
to catch up to his enemy laner and then knock them up with his Steel Tempest
Q
. Yasuo can quite easily set up ganks with this tactic as well.Playing around the Wind Wall
W
can allow him to completely dismantle ranged enemy matchups. He can run around the windwall and save himself from a lot of damage this way. Agaisnt melee champions, it is always wise to back off and maintain some distance from them.Post-six, he becomes extremely strong due to his Ultimate Last Breath
R
crowd control as well the bonus armor penetration he gets upon using it. Combined with his item powerspikes, it makes him a force to be reckoned with, even if he is behind in lane.

Improper usage of his Wind Wall
W
can get him killed in the lane. This is especially true against ranged matchups. The alternative is to back off, which allows the enemy to just zone Yasuo off the wave.Very vulnerable to crowd control as it prevents him from casting his Sweeping Blade
E
for a while. He can’t cast Sweeping Blade
E
on the same target twice, so he can easily be caught out.Although a power house, he is very squishy and can easily be burst down if he happens to mis-step. This can happen quite a lot if he is pushing the sidelanes, and overextends.

Boots

Choosing the best boots can be a little hard. There are 3 types boots i usually take, but i often buy Berserker's Greaves

Berserker's Greaves

You should pick Berserker's Greaves if you are up against an easy champion that you very often counter. I use this boots 90% of games because of the Attack Speed that is crucial for Yasuo

Plated Steelcaps

You should buy these boots if you are up against a AD champ or a tank, often used against champions that counter you well, such as Renekton or Mordekaiser Although I don't really use it, it could be a lifesaver in some mashups.

Mercury's Treads

You should buy these boots if you are against a heavy CC team- but they lack the Attack Speed that you get from berseker's greaves. If you are up against a Malzahar you should use this or Mercurial Scimitar.

Best Mythic Items To Choose

Immortal Shieldbow

This is a good Mythic Item that gives you everything you need for Yasuo. Use it if you are up against a Champion who has Burst Damage, such as Zed and Katarina
The best thing about this Item is that it provides protection that prevents you from dying from Burst Damage.

Kraken Slayer

This is a good Mythic Item if you are up against a Tank or Bruiser because of its Passive. After every third blow, you inflict damage in the form of True Damage, which can destroy Tanks. I personally have started using this Item for its potential, and because there is almost always at least one Tank in my game.

Galeforce

This is a good Item for squishier teams, for its cloudburst and gets more Damage if it hits a Champion who has the most Missing Health.
However, I would rather choose Infinity Force , because of its Attack Speed and Move Speed, and because of Galeforce long Cooldown.

Infinity Force

This is an item I have often gotten good results with, especially for the Attack and Move Speed that it gives and its Passive. Usually I use this when I'm fed, and when I run against Champions that I can dodge easily, like Ryze, Brand or Syndra. However, would not choose this one before Immortal Shieldbow because these can give Burst Damage.
Pros and Cons
Pros
+ High mobility
+ Can deal great amount of damage
+ Good in teamfights
+ Good at escaping
+ Ult can be used whenever someone is Airborne
+ Good at Cs and minion clear
Cons

- High ban rate
- High learning curve
- Squishy
- Very hard to master, and this champ is not the best in the meta.
- Easy to miss abilites
- Vulnerable to CC
.Combos and Tricks with Yasuo

Yasuo has a couple of Tricks and Combos with his kit, so i'm going to break some down for you.

Airblade

This is a good combo for yasuo, using his Ult. By throwing his tornado first, and then E + Q on a Champion, minion or a camp, and then pressing R, gives more Damage. However, you must have a certain cooldown on your abilites.

Flash + Q combo

This is one of the easiest combos to use for Yasuo. Basically you use this when you want to finish a enemy that is low on healh, but you dont reach.

+

Poke combo

This a good combo for poke, use this to poke your enemy. Engage with E on minions or Champion then AA on enemy Champion, and Q, then go out with E on minions.

Laning

As I mentioned above, many Yasuo run aggressively and usually find their way to kills. Although this is important for him to be able to win, this can make you instead feed. Therefore, it is best to first read the situation you should be in. For example, if you're running against a Syndra, you should customize first of all your runes and your build path. In lane you'll let her push, and try to poke her as much as you can. A good strategy is to freeze under turrent deny her farm if you are fed. If you don't become a Fed, try and find a gap, and if she misses/uses abilites then you can go in. Tex if she uses her CC, you're free to attack.

Usually you want to run aggressively with Yasuo, but you also need to know when not to run it. For example, you should freeze lane if you run against a champion who can poke you. Yasuo is a champ who always wants to find a gap to attack on, and always wants to dodge abilities with his E, so using this in a good way makes him unstoppable

Ganks and objectives

Gank with Yasuo can be a bit difficult, but is very good for him. Your path should usually be to push your wave quickly, and then move towards the bot or top to find a simple kill. You can use [scuttle crab] to advance your E and you can use your R when you see someone getting knocked up.
In jungle, you can dash over walls, using camps, like gromp , Raptors and Krugs
Here is a video of how to dash through walls using camps.
