PROS


+ Lots of tools to engage and disengage.
+ High damage.
+ Bursts down squishies.
+ High mobility.
+ Low ban rate.

CONS


- Vulnerable to CC.
- Squishy champion/Can be bursted down quickly.
- High skill floor since if you don't land everything perfectly it can result to a death.

Precision


Conqueror


A solid option for Akali, easy to stack and very effective for her kit since it provides massive advantage in long fights by providing healing and damage.

Fleet Footwork


My go to when i am facing ranged matchups beacuse of the sustain. The healing and mobility are all she needs. She can just Q Five Point Strike the enemy, back off for the passive and then auto them to get the healing and the mobility to back off and avoid poke. Or just Q, auto attack, and then disengage and get less damage but also deal less damage. Easy to kite the enemy and be more active in the laning phase.

Triumph


This is my choice for Akali since they changed it. Presence of Mind has been nerfed (no longer provides extra energy) and Akali's Q Five Point Strike has been buffed (lower energy cost). So it is kinda useless right now, while Triumph offers sustain in fights and the extra gold, which added up is a lot. So i choose Triumph every game and i had no energy issues in mid and later, only in early when the Q costs like 120 energy but after putting 3 points into it everything rolled smoothly. So in my opinion it is worth the sacrifice to go for the Triumph, it feels a lot better.

Legend: Tenacity


Akali's friend is her mobility and when that mobility is removed from any kind of CC you life becomes a nightmare. Personally i go for Legend: Tenacity every game no matter what, since there will be at least one slow or stun or anything immobilizing in the enemy team. You can go also for Legend: Alacrity if the enemy has very low CC potential. It helps proc passive more easily and push and take down turrets faster.

Last Stand


A very controversial rune slot. Both Last Stand and Coup de Grace are good choices. When i get Precision keystone i choose Last Stand since it synergises perfectly with the healing they provide. When you get down you are not looking to kill and get out but to stay in combat and heal with your kit, runes and items. So i find Last Stand to deal more damage than Coup de Grace when the game ends.

Coup de Grace


My choice when i go for the burst/one-shot build with Electrocute. It synergises with your R Perfect Execution since it deals execute damage. It also helps a lot to burst down squishies and maximize your damage. You have no healing and thus you don't want to stick around and fight when being low.

Domination


Electrocute


Your choice when going for the burst/one-shot build. It scales very well with AP and enables you to snowball uncontrollably. It is best to go for it when facing squishy teams with one to zero tanks since you will have a hard time facing a tanky team with this setup and will most likely get bursted down when you unleash your full combo and be left with nothing. Also a very good choice vs melee mid laners where you have trade advantage early to poke them away from the lane or kill them. Either way you get the advantage and snowball.

Taste of Blood


It compensates Akali's weak early game with the sustain which offers. The heal may feel small but it adds up a lot throughout the game and with the high damage you get some insane clutch potential.

Eyeball Collection


You can take this or Ghost Poro according to your playstyle and preferences. Both provide raw damage for better scaling.

Ravenous Hunter


The omnivamp is really good on this rune and helps a lot with your sustain. Another option is Ultimate Hunter for more R plays in the game. It is again a personal preference and playstyle just like Eyeball Collection and Ghost Poro. Both options are great.

Ultimate Hunter


Great option for reduced ultimate Perfect Execution cooldown and more outplay potential. I choose this over Ravenous Hunter for the burst/one-shot build since you don't want the healiing but the damage, and having your ult back up more often contributes a lot. I just grab Taste of Blood for the sustain in close situations.

Resolve


Second Wind


For ranged matchups where you will get poked a lot. Offers great sustain to survive the laning phase and not get pushed away and prevented from scaling.

Revitalize


Again for poking matchups. Boosts your overall healing to withstand the damage you take and helps having better trades since the increase is really good and your healing sources a lot.
SPELLS
Flash a must for Akali. Tool for engage, disengage and repositioning since positioning is everything for Akali. Also it can be used with her abilities to execute combos and surprise enemies.

Teleport is used only if you aren't sure about the matchup. Take Teleport and secure the lead by gaining an advantage on your health or items when the enemy has no time to base but you cheat with your tp. Or by teleporting to other lanes and help them. It can't match Ignite but solid option vs losing matchups.

Ignite gives that little extra damage that is needed in some fights. And is overall the best option for snowballing and for small skirmishes where Akali shines. Get an early kill with it's help and then snowball out of control by roaming and chocking the enemy team.
EARLY/MID/LATE GAME

EARLY


Akali's early game isn't the best nor the worst. Play it safe untill level 3 and then start pressuring a bit the enemy laner. Look for opportunities to get a kill and then snowball from there. Overall play safe really early and start unleasing the assassin moving towards mid-game.

MID


In mid-game you want to duel the enemy laner and/or shove the lane and look for roam. You have great 1v2 potential so don't be afraid to try those skirmises where enemy jungler comes with his laner. You can turn tables and snowball hard after that.

LATE


Akali falls off a tiny bit in late game but that doesn't stop her from closing the game and carrying. You have to be more precise about your picks because a mistake can destroy you since all the squishy targets have built items to counter you like Zhonya's Hourglass, Guardian Angel etc. You should look to clean up fights by bursting squishies and you will be fine.
ABILITIES

Assassin's Mark [PASSIVE]


Akali's passive Assassin's Mark provides additional damage, movement speed, range, and energy restore on your next auto as you kite in and out of range. You want to abuse melee champs with procing Assassin's Mark using Q Five Point Strike or E Shuriken Flip and then kiting with the auto.

Five Point Strike [Q]


With your Q Five Point Strike you want to kite as mentioned above at max range. When you put some points in Q Five Point Strike and with Presence of Mind you will be able to use Q Five Point Strike more than once in a trade.

Twilight Shroud [W]


Twilight Shroud is the ability which you want to play around. Also it restores some energy for more Q Five Point Strike. You can mark it with your E Shuriken Flip and when used in tight terrain like jungle it is shaped differently so use this to your advantage.

Shuriken Flip [E]


Your E Shuriken Flip is very crucial to land for your burst. When chasing targets try to E Shuriken Flip backwards and use Q Five Point Strike mid E for max range.

Perfect Execution [R]


Remeber your R Perfect Execution is a targeted spell so it's optimal for picks now because it reduces utility in team fight. You can R Perfect Execution the frontline to pass through and burst squishies in the backline or catch people split and solo-kill them. Also can be used from your W Twilight Shroud to escape tight situations just R Perfect Execution at specific angles to slip though.
