Introduction

Hey this is Sneaky from Cloud 9 and this is my Vayne guide!

Runes

The runes are standard ADC runes that I run on every champion.

Masteries

21/9 with points in Frenzy . Basic ADC set up with no points in Blade Weaving or Spell Weaving since they're pretty sub-par on Vayne. The rest is basic and necessary.

Skill Sequence

R > W > Q > E. You're entirely auto attack based so you'll want to focus on that. Maxing Tumble gives more stealth during Final Hour but less damage overall. Your trades will be better with Silver Bolts maxed. Maxing Condemn first or second is pretty useless since it isn't activated all the time.

Abilities

(Passive) Night Hunter
Vayne's passive gives you a bunch of free movement speed when chasing. The bonus gets a lot stronger when you use Final Hour, which is what lets you chase for kills and reposition more quickly in team fights.

(Q) Tumble
Cooldown: 6/5/4/3/2 seconds
This is your primary ability. You'll want to use this to get that little bit of range for your auto attack, dodge an ability, activate your stealth, anything basically! You can't go over walls with this!

(W) Silver Bolts
Your primary damaging ability. It activates after every 3rd auto attack in a row on the same target. This can also be activated with your Condemn. Condemn should give you two stacks of Silver Bolts which is insane damage.

(E) Condemn
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12 seconds
This is your wall-bang. You slam people into walls and unload your damage into them. This can also be used as an interrupt for most gap-closers if timed well. You should be looking to use this anytime you see the enemy near the wall. Doesn't matter what else you're doing. Stop, drop, and wall-bang.

(R) Final Hour
Cooldown: 100/85/70 seconds
This is your damage steroid for that extra overall power you need to kill somebody. Use this at the start of any duel and spam your Tumble while in this. If you achieve a wall-bang during this do NOT use your Tumble for the duration of the stun. The main use of your Tumble is to cancel the enemies' auto-attacks, start up your next auto, and make the enemy guess where you are. With every Tumble you should be changing direction to make your enemy even more confused.

Items

Early Game
Start with a Doran's Blade, Health Potion and Stealth Ward. For your first buy, you'll want to go for Bilgewater Cutlass. It builds into your Blade of the Ruined King while also being easy to buy. After the bilge if you can't afford the actual Blade of the Ruined King and you have Boots + Dagger + 225g, buy Berserker's Greaves.
Mid Game
Past the Blade of the Ruined King if you haven't bought Berserker's Greaves, get them now. You'll want to go for Youmuu's Ghostblade next since it scales insanely well with your Blade of the Ruined King, and the active is also really nice for chasing people down. A big feature of the Youmuu's Ghostblade second is being able to two shot the ranged minions and 3 shot the melee minions, which helps immensely for pushing.

Your next buy is dependent upon your gold/the enemy team.
-If the enemy team has armor go Last Whisper
-If the enemy team has no armor and you have 1550g go Infinity Edge
-If the enemy team has no armor and you don't have 1550g go Phantom Dancer
Late Game
For your 4th item if you're getting wrecked by un-dodgable spells you'll want to build accordingly.
-If against Zed, Twisted Fate, build Quicksilver Sash
-If against Fiddlesticks, Fizz, Ahri, build Banshee's Veil.
I really dislike going for defensive items but there are special cases where I do buy them. My criteria is basically just if the specific enemy is really fed and there's nothing I can do to outplay his damage. Like against Orianna she could be really fed but I can sit far enough back to stay away from her damage, whereas a Fizz will be able to go untargetable and jump past my whole team, then use his Q-ulti on me for insane damage. So for the most part avoid defensive items.

Last item is just whatever piece you didn't build already out of my list. Sell boots for Zephyr after you have a full build!

How to play Vayne

(Early Game)
Your main goal is to farm and look for wall-bangs with Condemn. All-in on a wall-bang and you'll win the lane. Other than that you want to dodge every damaging ability you can with Tumble. Harass safely with Tumble and farm up. A decent trade early game at near full mana is to auto attack, Tumble to the side, and then Condemn them and run away. Even if it doesn't proc the second part you get the Silver Bolts proc. At level 6 you get decently stronger but you need items to actually duel people. The mid game is where you shine.

(Mid Game)
You'll want to run off into a sidelane with a Vision Ward when there isn't an objective and place your pink. If you're purple side put your pink in the river brush. If you're blue put in Tri-brush. The denial of vision is going to help you an insane amount. They'll be scared of jungle pressure and you'll have a bush you can safely camp in. Group with your team when an objective is coming up and stay in the back of fights to deal as much damage as possible. If the enemy team grouped earlier than yours then you can go for a flank on them. Vayne flanks are pretty good since you can stealth around and get a free wall-bang.

(Late Game)
You'll do loads of damage to anybody you hit. Thornmails don't apply to you since your actual AD isn't that high. Focus the highest threat near you and Tumble around!!
