Champion Build Guide
Introduction
Hi Guys, my name is Strider and I am a Master Yi main on the NA and EUW servers. I know what you're probably thinking 'wait, you're not Hashinshin, you're just some random pretending to be him'. I understand how the title of the guide can be confusing, I put Hashinshin's name in the title because I wanted to publish a guide on how NA's super top plays the Madman of Zaun.
Pros and Cons of Dr. Mundo
+ One of the tankiest champions in the entire game + Insane sustain with his passive and Maximum Dosage + Really good damage numbers for how tanky can get + Can splitpush and teamfight well + A very good counter to magic damage based opponents |
- Weak early game - easily kited since he has no mobility abilities - Countered by tank shredders like Master Yi and Kayle - Lacks hard CC. Only has the slow from Infected Bonesaw |
Skill Order - Explanation
#1.
Masochism 2 / 4 / 5 / 7 / 9 #2. Infected Cleaver 1 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 13 #3. Sadism 6/ 11 / 16 #4. Burning Agony 3 / 14 / 15 / 17 / 18 |
This is the standard skill order used by Hashinshin. Most Dr. Mundo players max Infected Bonesaw first but Hash opts for Blunt Force Trauma first. Blunt Force Trauma increases your AD by a good amount, in addition to bonus damage on the first hit which scales with your health. Blunt Force Trauma can also reset your auto-attack timer meaning you can use to double-hit and deal a lot of damage in a short space of time. Infected Bonesaw is maxed second as this ability is core to Dr. Mundo's kit. He uses it to farm safely from range or poke down your opponent, as well as to slow enemies chasing him or close the gap on a fleeing enemy. Heart Zapper is maxed last since its only use is for pushing waves and when you are all-in'ing an enemy champion. Of course, put points into Maximum Dosage whenever you can. |

Runes

For your Rune Shards the first one is always going to be , this is because the bonus attack speed will help us in early game trades as well as last hitting minions. The second one is situational, you want to take a resistance rune that counters your lane opponent, so if you're against Tryndamere go or if against Rumble go . For the last one you usually want to go but if you wish can take another resistance shard. |
Core Items
Sunfire Aegis, Ninja Tabi (most of the time, can be switched for Mercury's Treads) and Spirit Visage are going to be the three major items you are building every single game. Sunfire Aegis is built first because it helps us with wave clear as well as more damage when we all-in an enemy. After Sunfire we want to upgrade to tier 2 boots, most games Ninja Tabi will be the right choice as most top laners and junglers are AD but if there team is heavy on magic damage then do not hesitate to go for Mercury's Treads instead. After boots we want to build Spirit Visage, this item gives us a ton of HP, MR, CDR but most importantly it multiplies the healing we get from our ultimate Maximum Dosage, this is why this item is built every game on Dr. Mundo, its simply too good to pass up. |
