Summoners!

-Flash fits good on him, can help to escape when your ult is on cooldown!
-Ignite, finisher good vs Tanks! (or Anivia)

Items!

-Heavy Mana, you will need that for your ult!
-AP, he's an Ap assasin what did you expected?
-Cooldown Boots, normaly build on him! (Sorcery Boots work too)

Abilitys!

-Max your Q poke and damage! (also grants a magic shield)
-Than E good to catch enemies out! (needs 5 Spells cast in his range to be used)
-Max W Last! (Empowered AA with Ap scaling)
-Ult, Gapcloser, Damage, Mana intense!

Masteries!

-Thunderlords Decree fits well on him (on Assasins)

Runes!

-AP in quints and Glyphs!
-MagicPen in the Marks!
-Health in Seals!

Match-Up!

-DON'T play him against Ad assasins/fighters (Zed/Talon/Yasuo)
-Can be played against Ap poke or assasin (Ziggs/Ahri/Vel'Koz)
-Very effective vs Immobile Ap's (Twisted Fate/Annie/Veigar)
