Who Am I?
Hello! I'm Tartmeringue, a fairly new support main who makes guides for fun. In this build guide I'm going to talk about how to play Support Shen and more specifically, Hybrid AP Utility/Tank build Support Shen. I'm fairly new to Shen and more specifically, support Shen, but he has a lot of potential on bot lane! There's only like. Two other support Shen guides out there so I thought I'd share my potential build and, because the other guides don't have much on match-ups, I'd work on slowly filling out the Threat and Synergy section as thoroughly as I can (Go look at the other two if you're getting into Shen support, they will be more helpful). I will update as often as I can to enter more match-up information.
How to play Support Shen
To play support Shen, you need to focus on engaging, peeling for your adc and warding. Extra emphasis on peeling and warding.
Shen has decent early game, so if you are with a bursty adc with good early game feel free to take advantage of that to initiate fights with the enemy botlane. I've won quite a few early game fights from punishing poor positioning with
Shadow Dash and taunting the enemies so my adc can safely follow up.
Shen really needs and wants to ward, so you should try placing deep wards to catch sight of the enemy jungler far before they come close to ganking. Even if you're not in the enemy jungle placing wards, try maintaining river bush and keeping vision priority. (Also, don't be stingy and have at least two pink wards on you at all times!)

Steel Shoulderguards are for better early and mid game trades. Relic Shield for better scaling with your abilities and utility/support items.
