Introduction
First of all I will start with the reasons why I decided to write this guide, and ask you for a favor.
There were two main reasons:
- To improve my Lulu gameplay;
- To improve my english writing skills.
On this guide I will cover the reasons why you should play Lulu, but most importantly, how you should play Lulu. Remember: This is just a guide, it is not a pre-defined rule, it will be best if you don't follow this guide line-by-line, add to your Lulu your own ways of playing, and she will grow stronger and stronger.
- Because it is fun.
I could end this chapter here, this is enough reason for you to play Lulu, but if thats not enough, these are some other important items:
- She has the potential to take down by herself most Glass Cannon champion. (Yes Katarina, I'm looking at you). (Also, here goes a tip if you play Katarina: Don't dive a Lulu. If you really want to do so, make sure her spells are on CD or she is out-of-mana, if you aren't sure of one of those cases, don't dive a Lulu, her Wild Growth won't let your CD reset, her Whimsy won't let you escape).
- Here most of players will hate me: She has a good split pushing power. Don't call me names yet, hear what I have to say: A banner of the command, A zz'rot, a fully upgraded Whimsy. That's all you need, if the other team don't plan an ambush, you will have a safe escape, and the minion upgraded by the banner + zzrot minions will help you wipe out waves and waves of enemy minions.
- She is easy to play. Altough she may be hard to master, her ultimate, shield, and high basic attack damaging are a very error forgiving kit.
- You will spend hours trying to master Lulu. Idk where I heard it, but I totally agreed when I heard someone say: "You could write a whole essay about if its better to use Lulu's spells on allies or enemies." And that is true, because this is the hardest thing about Lulu: Decision making.
- She has lots of overplaying potential.
- She is very fun to play. I know this was the first topic of this chapter, but this is so true that it needs to be remembered. There are lots of champions that are fun because they are too op, or because their kit has some good potentials, or because idk what. That's not the same as Lulu, Lulu is just fun, her glitter, her voice, her dressing, Pix, her taunt, her laugh, her dance, and the face/commentaries of your opponent when you overplay then are awesome.
Runes

Greater Quintessece of Scaling Cooldown Reduction
- THIS RUNE IS FOR A PREVIOUS VERSION OF THE GAME. USE MANA REGEN SCALING RUNES INSTEAD, I SHALL SOON UPDATE THIS GUIDE.
Greater Mark of Hybrid Penetration
- There isn't much to say about this rune, as the tanky champions get stronger, this rune also gets stronger.
If you dislike this rune, good options (in my view) are Magic Penetration or Attack Speed (Good for Lulu thanks to Pix).
Greater Seal of Scaling Armor
- As a support there is great chance that you will face an AD enemy, also, in the current all AD meta, even the enemy support may be an AD champ, so I think this rune is pretty strong right now.
If you dislike this rune, good options (in my view) are armor, health, scaling health, percent health.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
- Facing a strong AP enemy is easier if you have MR. Most poke support are strong AP, só this will give a good chance when facing them.
If you dislike this rune, good options (in my view) are AP, scaling AP, scaling Mana.
NOTE: I love scaling runes, they are like extra stats that grow stronger as my champion gets stronger. At level 8 most (if not all) scaling runes are a bit stronger than flat runes, at level 18 their power are way bigger, even if the flat stat runes are way more useful at the beginning, I feel that because scaling runes are better at late game (even not having the same impact as flat runes at the early game, thanks to high developed builds) they can be much more game changing than flat stats runes. Also, note that scaling CDR is an exception, because 15% CDR is about half the CDR cap.
First of all, I shall thanks Emikadon and "-A Whimsical Wonderland Support-" Guide, featured on this website, this guide helped me so much to learn, to play and to love Lulu. Thanks to Emikadon I learned enough to try to learn on my own. Although currently not updated to current season, A must-read if you want to master Lulu.
So... You came all the way and is tired for reading all this guide, or just want to know more about me, or whatever... Well, I'm currently GOLD 5, and I'm aiming for a higher Elo by playing mostly Lulu. If you want more League of Legends Information about me, you can check OP.GG or any other site, my Summoner Name is Ignem, and I play at the BR region.
!Future Plans!
You know, I know this guide is pretty abandoned, but I love it, and I wish I had more energy to develop it. In the near future I'll try to keep it up-to-date with recent updates, and maybe in the next few months add one chapter or two after finishing the current ones.
