Hope you will have as much fun playing that build as I had! ^^
Sorry for the late reply though, was at a festival this weekend! :D
The damage output of this build can still be very strong, if you play it correctly!
But I just realized that I haven't updated the item choices completely.
With the items being the way they are now, it is very wise to build a Morellonomicon on Akali.
Not only for the bonus magic penetration, but also for the grievous wounds it inflicts.
This makes it a lot easier for you to burst down your targets.
So in short: yes, the burn Akali build is still very much viable (play it top lane if you want to try it). But I still need to update the itemization for the latest patch!
Hope this answer was helpful for you!
I was just curious if it would be worth giving that build a try.
Now I have my answer, thank you! ^^
Glad I could help, let me know what your opinion is about the build when you've tried it!
I am looking forward to trying this build!
I am still fairly new to this guide writing.
Tried your tank build and it worked to perfection! ^^
Yes, at the moment the tank build is really strong if you know how to play it.
I am planning on putting up some videos real soon.
But I haven't found the time to do it yet!
It is one of my favorites to play toplane, it gives you so much dueling potential.
The idea is that you indeed play the game more like a duelist.
You need to stay in combat to proc your Grasp of the Undying.
It gives you a decent amount of health back and increases your trading potential because of the sustain you have.
Akali can naturally sustain good by herself, if you can get a passive proc off together with Grasp of the Undying you will be able to last in fights so much longer than when you are playing assassin Akali.
In the early game, when you only have your Hextech Gunblade, your damage won't feel much different from normal Akali. When you start getting your tank items you will notice the difference, you will not burst down your targets like you are used to.
With the tank build you can stay on enemies and sustain so much that they have a really hard time killing you, while you are still dishing out good damage.
I can really recommend to try this build. It's a lot of fun and you'll get the idea better by using it than by reading about it.
Looking forward to seeing the guide getting finished.
Maybe it's just not updatet yet?
