This is my guide on how to support with Kayle. her heal isn't all that good so instead of building her totally AP we'll build her AS/Hybrid with as many on-hit effects as we can find to debuff them while dealing some pretty heavy damage and still being of some use healing.

If you've read any of my other guides, you've probably noticed that I seem to like Flash/Exhaust...well, here we go again.

Clairvoyance I don't like it much myself, get it if you like.

Exhaust I love this spell. It ruins their damage, slows them, and if you have the mastery point it also further debuffs their armor/MR.

Ghost Your heal already gives a ghost, making Flash more useful than this.

Clarity You don't tend to have problems with mana.

Flash Saves lives and gets kills daily.

Teleport Not bad Kalye, get it if you want.

Cleanse Not bad. Lower priority than some others.

Ignite See above. The debuff is nice if they have Mundo, Vlad, etc, otherwise leave this to a carry.

Holy Fervor A good passive for Kayle, works especially well with champs like Fiddlesticks and Sunfire-Tank Mundo (See my Mundo build).

Reckoning Awesome spell for harassment earlygame and damage mid/lategame.

Divine Blessing Not very good as a heal till later in the game, haste lets you postpone buying better boots.

Righteous Fury This is essentially your auto-attack. It's where all your power is, and you want to have it up pretty much whenever you're attacking.

Intervention Pretty much speaks for itself. Long CD and game changing. You can use it to stop a kill on you or a teammate, towerdive, bait, take down their entire team 2v5 with someone like Twitch or Brand, you get the idea.

Start with a Sapphire Crystal and immediately upgrade it to a Tear of the Goddess and you'll practically never run out of mana(Blue buff also helps)(except doing Baron when your tank is mia >_< we got him, anyway...), then get Boots

Malady Get this next-you don't need better boots just yet due to your heal.

Ionian Boots of Lucidity K, now you need the boots.

Guinsoo's Rageblade This is practically made for Kayle, with her new passive.

Black Cleaver Starting to see a pattern here? Cripple them with auto-attacks while building up your own strength.

Optional Items

Nashor's Tooth This will max your CDR so you can keep Righteous Fury active all the time, give decent AS, and give a little AP. And the MP5 is kinda useful after you get rid of the Tear of the Goddess.

Banshee's Veil Without this or Merc Treads or Quicksilver Sash or Cleanse you're a lot more likely to die.

Frozen Mallet This is just plain decent.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter I'd use Frozen Mallet instead but I'd assume this slow stacks with the slow on Reckoning.

Rabadon's Deathcap If you want to build more AP go ahead, but the ratios on Diving Blessing and Righteous Fury got nerfed, and Reckoning is good more for the damage boost and slow than the damage.

Phantom Dancer I'm not a big fan of CrC on a hybrid, but movement is always useful and AS is really good due to having anywhere between 2 and 7 on-hit effects.

Tiamat Now I've heard this is good on Kayle, but the main selling point on it is it's unique. So if you're trying to carry your team, sure, why no-waaaiit a minute! Sure, your damage is good, but really-leave that job to Twitch. I doubt Tiamat applies on-hit effects on the splash, which means we don't care about it for this build. You. Are. Not. A. Carry. Just remember that.

Trinity Force Well, it's better than Tiamat. It gives all the stats you want, the problem is it give a little of everything so not as much AP/AD/AS as we could want. And it's the most expensive item in the game. "But the unique..." Remember what I said in Tiamat? "You. Are. Not. A. Carry." Even though the extra Mana/Health/Speed may seem pretty good, if you really want to carry find another champ. It's possible to carry on Kayle, but it's possible to carry on Karma. I rest my case.

Situational Items

Wit's End If they have a magic heavy team and they're focusing you this can replace Nashor's Tooth.

Madred's Bloodrazor Generally you only get this if they have 2 or more champs with at least 3000 health.

Frozen Heart Yes, a tank item. If they're ripping your team apart with physical but have really weak magic (it happens) you can substitute this for Banshee's Veil (If your tank won't get it it's your job to as support). If the problem stays (lolwut?) you can substitute Frozen Mallet or Randuin's Omen or Thornmail for Nashor's Tooth. Let's see them get though that!

Abyssal Mask If you a magic-heavy team and no-one else will get it.

Sword of the Divine Pretty much only get this is they have Jax.

Kayle is best on a side lane, and can become very successful 1v2.

Rules for laning with Kayle

---

Rule #1: Don't melee auto-attack if they're ranged.

Rule #2: Use Righteous Fury to last hit, then farm/harass while it's up.

Rule #3: When they try to last hit, push them back with Reckoning, if you feel like it you can also hit them a couple times with Righteous Fury. When they''re back out of range, turn back to minions.

Rule #4: Don't use mana when you don't need to until you finish your Tear of the Goddess.

Rule #5: (General rule of laning #1) Try to keep the minions at about the halfway between the towers. Too close to them means you're wide open to ganks (unless you ward), and too close to your tower means less last-hits.

Both Blue and Red buffs are good for you, but only get Blue if there's no one like Anivia on your team who can wreck them with Blue, only get Red if there's no-screw it, just grab red, and only get either if there's no jungler on your team.

Overall you end up with(with the full build and Rageblade procced):

2515 Health
Over 1500 mana (depends on how long youo hold on to Tear of the Goddess, can get up to 2350)
around 9 Mpen not counting your passive and Malady's unique.
