Now onto Sion! After watching the video above you should now know how his basic kit works and picked up some cool tricks on how to play him correctly. Let’s talk about how to carry games on this champion! Sion early game does massive damage to minion waves and champions. His ability to not only clear quickly but also harass his opponent is core to how his play style works. As Sion you should make an effort to actively split push and farm throughout the game in order to not only apply pressure, but to stack up your W’s passive as well.
When laning you should use your wave clear to your advantage. Even against unfavorable matchups your ability to push lanes will still come in handy. Use your Q and W to enter your enemy’s zone of control, and constantly aim to both CS and harass. Lane domination and harass is Sion’s strong suit, make use of it, but don’t overdo it as this can lead to the enemy jungler coming top to stop you. Pre level 6 Sion is very susceptible to ganks, so make sure to keep the area warded before attempting to push onto your opponents turret.

When engaging the enemy team, Sion plays best in closed off areas such as the jungle and river. With his AOE oriented kit, his abilities work best in small areas, allowing him to CC an entire team at once. When team fighting on Sion you shouldn’t try to get full Q’s off, as most of the time you won’t land them. Instead aim to charge your Q to about half and create team wide knock-ups to turn fights.

Use your ultimate! At max level and 40% CDR, his ultimate is on an incredibly low cooldown. You should be using it actively to not only engage team fights, but to disengage from bad situations as well. Whenever you use your ultimate make sure to use your W during it as well. The shield will always come in handy when trying to soak up extra damage when initiating a fight, and will be right on time when attempting to land a kill.

For summoner spells you should be open to what your team needs. Mobility spells such as flash are important to have early game in order to get out of sticky situations, but late game they can fall off. Teleport is a great spell to always have in order to make use of Sions split pushing potential. However when we tried ghost on him we found ourselves underusing the ability. Build around your playstyle and what you feel your team may need during the game.

To conclude, we feel that Sion is a very strong top laner and jungler. His ability to engage team fights and turn losing one’s around with his CC is extremely beneficial to your team for lining up kills. We feel Sions playstyle has a unique niche in League that we haven’t yet seen before, and we’re excited to see where you guys can take him!

If you stand in a bush or in the fog of war and Q onto your enemy, they will be unable to see the area of effect indicator!

It’s crucial that you use your Q W E combo immediately off of your R to secure kills.

When pushing lanes make sure to use your W to not only to push the lane, but to harass your opponent as well.

Sion is not a champion who typically does well with basic attacks, so when you're out of abilities and in a bad spot, it may be a good idea to leave.

If Sion ever does find himself in a bad spot, he can use his ultimate as a disengage tool to get out of any bad situation quickly.

If you can get the slow off from your frozen gauntlet you’ll almost be guaranteed a stun from your Q.

You can activate your W while charging your Q or your ultimate.

Make sure to use your shield to its fullest extent in the jungle before popping it for maximum sustain.

If you know you’re going to die, don’t run, fight. If sion can get a decent amount of an enemies health chunked before he dies, he can become reborn to enact revenge.

Sion has great wave clear, but before pushing a lane too hard, make sure to have vison control over the map.

Upon dying Sion will still apply on hit effects from his items and you can still use them as well.

Make sure to use your E to not only harass your opponents, but as a way to close gaps or enlarge them between you and your opponent as well.
