Fizz can be a powerfull snowball if used correctly. As an assassin, fizz can do a lot of splash damage and assassinate a champion easily unless the champion has a strong health. Fizz is not a good match up with ranged champion because of his lack of ranged skill. But with everything ready, fizz can easily turn the table around. I'm not a good player but I have plenty of experiences with fizz. I recommend watching some video or read some sources on using fizz to improve your skill.

Spells: ignite and flash are the ideal spells for mid lane.

Items: I personally prefer purchasing the corrupting potion and keeping it 'till the end. Fizz doesn't have high health and mana regeneration, so the corrupting potion can be quite handy. All my Fizz build sets are based on AD. Fizz is a beast with high ability damage.

Ability: You can start with E, but I personally prefer starting with W. E uses too much mana, while W doesn't use as much mana and can help you with a great early farm.

You shouldn't depend too much on your team and try to carry as much as possible for a higher win rate. I played Fizz for a while now with an extremely high KDA. I main fizz for mid most of the time and learned a lot about fizz and how to use him in different situations. You will need plenty of practice to master his ultimate, and learn some clever tricks with his E by watching other videos. I hope you will use my guide in good use and master Fizz ASAP.
