Threats & Synergies
If you get a Draven in your match do not pick Lucian. With your 500 unit range you cannot fight him, all will almost definitely lose against him.
If the enemy team has both Xayah and Rakan, dodge. Their combo is too insane for you to outvalue in solo queue, especially alone.
Protects his ADC way too well, you will not have any kill pressure against Braum.
Miss Fortune has a range advantage, as well as a damage advantage, so it is optimal to pick another ADC or just dodge.
Let Caitlyn push you under tower with her Q, don't go for cs if she has her head shot it's not worth it at all. Start Doran's shield and farm under tower until you get a cutlass; dash into her use the slow to help your support land their abilities and ult her.
Try and not trade with him while he has his fourth shot up. Wait for him to waste both his Q and fourth shot on the wave and then engage or trade.
You should try and pressure him , to delay his power spike, more precisely Rageblade.
In lane you should be able to beat her. In the late game watch out for her Q invisibility.
Wait for Kog'maw to waste his W then go in for a trade or engage.
His passive makes you very dangerous in lane and even in the late game. With his ult he can create really easy fights.
Leona has a lot of stuns, so she can keep the enemies still and allow you to burst them down.
He is a really aggressive support with a high pick potential with great mid and late game.
A skilled Thresh player is a great support to have, and will synergies with any ADC.
Nami is a great enchanter support who can give bonus damage, peel and keep Lucian alive.
Lulu improves your all in potential, damage and survivability.
Yuumi gives great healing, bonus AD with her passive and her ult can lock down enemies so you can pick them off easier , and ult easier as well.
Taric has a great kit that compliments Lucian well.
Blitzcrank has great pick potential and kill pressure.
Soraka has great peel and can keep you healthy for a long time.
Karma has a lot of damage and shielding, and can help you secure lane easely.
Morgana has a lot of crowd control, but she isn't that great for all ins.
Rakan has a great kit, but doesn't have excellent synergy.
Zyra has a lot of poke, and her ult is great, but doesn't do extremely well with Lucian, she is OK, as the category suggests.
Her E buffs your passive, so you can dish out around 200 true damage at the five minute mark.
Brand is an ok pick with Lucian, because he provides great poke and damage in lane so you push them out of lane easier.
Sona doesn't bring much to the table, as all the supports in the low and none synergy categories.
Usually Bard players can be useful , but sometimes you get a really bad one who can ruin your laning phase and late game.
Lux isn't a great support in my opinion, and shouldn't be played as such, being an excuse of a support just because of her Q and W.
Malzahar is alright with his ultimate and having kill potential, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Vel'koz offers a lot of damage with some crowd control with his slows and W, but isn't that exceptional.
In my opinion Galio doesn't bring much to the table as a support, and now that he got nerfed and can't Flash+W, he is pretty much just a midlaner now.
He doesn't provide anything useful to Lucian that other supports cant do. Some other champion provide the thing Fiddlesticks does more effectively and safely.
Excepting a massive health pool, Tahm Kench doesn't bring anything special to the table, just like Fiddlesticks.
Xerath is a borderline support that doesn't have anything useful in his kit.
Zilean isn't a great support and you should dodge if you get him in your team.
Champion Build Guide
After a 0.4-0.25 second delay (based on level), Lucian fires a laser in the direction of the target enemy, dealing 85 / 120 / 155 / 190 / 225 (+0.6 / 0.75 / 0.9 / 1.05 / 1.2 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to all enemies in a line.
Lucian fires a shot that explodes upon hitting an enemy or reaching the end of its path, damaging enemies in a cross pattern for 75 / 110 / 145 / 180 / 215 (+90% AP) magic damage and marking enemies hit for 6 seconds.
If Lucian or any of his allies damage a marked target with their basic attacks or abilities, Lucian gains 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 flat movement speed bonus for 1 second. This does not consume the mark.
Lucian dashes a short distance. Relentless Pursuit's cooldown is reduced by 1 second per Lightslinger (passive) hit, doubles against enemy champions (2 second reduction per hit, 4 seconds total for a full passive proc).
Lucian starts firing 20 / 25 / 30 shots in the target direction for 3 seconds, each shot damaging the first enemy it hits for 20 / 35 / 50 (+0.25 per attack damage) (+10% of ability power). The Culling is considered a channeled ability and it can be interrupted, but Lucian can move freely (including movement abilities) without interrupting it himself.
Precision is the best keystone tree for Lucian because of Press the Attack. Your passive compliments PTA so well, so it is the best choice over all. You could try a cheesy Kleptomancy build on top lane to bully bruisers and tanks. Press the Attack gives you bonus damage after you proc it, so it is really good for extended trades, whom Lucian succeeds at.
Triumph is the best rune to chose from this tree. It gives you sustain and lets you stay in lane for longer after getting a kill. It is great for teamfights as well.
In this tree, every choice is great in my opinion. Legend: Alacrity is the best one over all. When against a heavy CC comp, you should pick Legend: Tenacity and against poke comps you should pick Legend: Bloodlinefor the increased sustain.
Usually these choices are based on the enemy team composition. If they have a lot of poke, pick the first Attack Speed Rune then two Defensive runes, either MR or Armor. But usually you would want to run Attack speed , Adaptive Damage and Armor/MR.
This is Lucian's most damaging combo, and I will explain how to do it. Firstly you need your passive up, you can do that by using the W on the target, but for simplicity's sake I used it randomly. This combo allows you to chain double shots from your passive with your other abilities while dishing a lot of damage.
This flashy mechanic is one that you won't use that often. What is essentially does is allow you to kill a target , and flash at the same time , essentially letting you pick one of the enemies and get some distance from the others, making your escape/kiting easier. You can also flash sideways to avoid skill shots that might kill you
This is pretty much the same combo as the first one, while incorporating your ultimate. I don't recommend using this combo , because even though you have more damage, you cannot move that much during it, and most importantly you cannot reset your E while using your Ultimate.
