Introduction.
As a tank support your primary skill tree will be Resolve. From there you can opt into utility options, early game sustain or late game indestructibility. There's tons of flexibility to suit you and your team's needs. Champ specific information will be added later, but for now:
Default lines: Resolve into Aftershock, Font of Life, Conditioning for post laning phase late game tankiness, and finish off with Overgrowth. For the second tree, grab Biscuit Delivery for sustain and Approach Velocity for follow up on your Zenith Blade > Shield of Daybreak combo.
Utility lines: Although it is almost always better to opt for Aftershock as a CC bot, sometimes your allies just need that extra bit of protection. In such cases go for Guardian instead, then Font of Life for all your CC. The next option depends on whether or not you're up against heavy AD, AP, or the late game long haul against tanks and sustain. In respect, go for Iron Skin, Mirror Shell or Conditioning. Finalise the resolve line with Revitalize for all your active items.
For the second line, consider Domination, with Sudden Impact to complement your Zenith Blade and Ingenious Hunter for item cdr.

As a support lacking in shields and healing, utility actives will often be your saving grace. If your team is lacking in utility, opt for items which give you both tankiness and the ability to save your carries as your core.
It will be your job to assess the abilities, items and statuses of both your and the enemy team so as to optimise the durability, tenacity and damage output of your carries. One of the basic rules of thumb is to consider the damage types of the enemy team; that is, are they heavy on AP, AD or perhaps true damage?
Level 1, Leona is one of the champions with the highest base MR. As such, in early game, it is better to opt for armor items such as Ninja Tabi or Frozen Heart.
Mid game team fighting calls for items such as Locket of the Iron Solari for devestating aoe abilities, Redemption to keep your team healthy, Randuin's Omen for peel and Abyssal Mask for self sustain.
For late game sustain, your options may include: sunfire's cape, Gargoyle Stoneplate, Adaptive Helm.

If you happen to be the only tanky member of your team, it becomes a tough decision as to whether or not your team needs a tank or utility, and there are so many options! Here are some details on when to pick which item.

Mikael's Blessing: Ideally your carries will buy a Quicksilver Sash, but if the enemy team has a lot of CC then it may be best for you to invest in this item. Mikael's stacks with Redemption and Spirit Visage. While it does remove most types, it is not effective against:

Adaptive Helm: This item is useful against dot, dps and aoe
