Introduction to Urgot

Urgot can be considered as a mage/DPS champion based on the Armor Penetration.

Even if he uses Attack Damage to deal damage to his enemies his main source of damage is his Q spell Acid Hunter.

You will be maximising the Armor Penetration of Noxian Corrosive Charge with Masteries, Runes and Items.
Cooldown reduction is also important because you will be spamming Acid Hunter durying every fight.

Champion Spells

(Passive) Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter - 15% damage reduction of the enemy affected. It is applied with your AUTO-ATTACKS and lasts for 2.5 seconds.
It doesn't work with turrets, but it is always good to have some kind of advantage on your opponent.

Q Acid Hunter - Your main source of damage. The spell is casted immediately when the button is clicked, it is not like other aiming spells that will show you the area where you can cast so you will have to position your mouse cursos where you want the spell to hit. If you want to see the maximum range of Acid Hunter you will have to pass the cursor over it without touching it.
Only the first enemy in the way (minions included) will take the damage.
You can also use it to scout bushes. If the spell hits anything it will make a strange noise like metal that hits flash.

W Terror Capacitor - This is a shield that will prevent some damage. It is good if you are playing against Karthus or Lux but it is not very powerfull.
The most important thing with Terror Capacitor is that it can be combined with Acid Hunter and Auto-Attacks to slow the enemies hit.

E Noxian Corrosive Charge - A very good spell that does a lot of stuff. It scouts bushes and areas through walls, it deals some damage both on hit and over time, it reduces the Armor of the enemies it hits and it makes Acid Hunter lock the enemy.
The most important factor is the combo created with Acid Hunter. To make it work you have to move your cursor over the target you want to hit and simply click your Q spell. This works through walls and you will still be able to shoot one or two missles after the enemy seems to be out of range just by positioning your mouse in the direction the enemy disappeared or in the direction you think the enemy will be taking when running away (the missles are very easy to land if the target is affected by Noxian Corrosive Charge and you don't have to be 100% accurate).
The missle will also jump over other enemies like minions or other enemy champions. If both champion and minions are affected by Noxian Corrosive Charge the Acid Hunter will choose the champion as main target.

R (Ultimate) Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverse - One of my favourite ultimates in the game.
It is very powerfull in some situations, very useless in others and fking very stupid in others.
It switches you and your target after a very short channeling. During the channeling and for some moments after the switch the target is suppressed and Urgot gains some Armor and Magic Resistance.
The problem is that while you can throw the target back and create beautiful ganks you will also teleport yourself where the enemy champion was so you can't cast it on somebody who is just hugging his own turret (you would get under the turret).

Summoner Spells

As for any carry champion, the best choices are:

Flash - 100%!!! Take this always.

Exhaust - Very good with Urgot because he is vulnerable like any other DPS. Additionally you can have a double slow thanks to your Terror Capacitor.

Ghost - Good but Flash is better.

Ignite - Yes, there are better choices but you play carry and who if not the carry will take Ignite to stop the Dr. Mundo you might be facing??? It is viable if you are playing Ranked and you know you will be playing against a Mundo or a heal champion.

Cleanse - You know why cmn...

Masteries

YES
- Cripple is obviously good if you are going to use Exhaust
- Sorcery is nothing special but gived a good CD reduction if combined with Intelligence
- Sunder is a 100% sure pick when playing Urgot
- Brute Force is decent if you are going to maximize your Offensive tree
- Quickness is pretty good in any situation
- Blink of an Eye should always been picked if the build goes deep into the Utility tree because Flash is the best Summoner Spell for nearly every champion and Urgot isn't an exception

NO
- Archaic Knowledge is useless on Urgot because he doesn't have spells with Magic Damage.
- Lethality is useless because you will never be going for Critical Strike Chance.

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation and Greater Quintessence of Desolation are the only Marks and Quintessences that you will be taking with Urgot. This will give you 25 Armor Penetration only from the Runes.

For Seals you can choose between Greater Seal of Vitality and Greater Seal of Scaling Mana Regeneration. DO NOT TAKE ATTACK SPEED SEALS as you would do with other DPS champions because you will be usying abilities most of the time... ATTACK SPEED = BAD k?

The best Glyphs you can take are flat CD reduction Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction.

Items

Main items
Is always good and can become a or a . should be bought as soon as possible but it is the last item you will upgrade. should be purchased in late Mid-Game when your damage is not as efficient as it is in Early and Mid-Game.

Other viable items
maximizes your damage thanks to the 150% damage. gives a good movement speed buff and provides some decent HP and CD reduction. should be picked against a heavy DPS team while is a defensive item good in any situation. is really good for long games and should be picked only in 5v5 or when a 3v3 is never ending (not in a normal 3v3 because it is too expensive for a 25/30 minutes game). for obvious reasons.

How i build my items
I start with a Sapphire Crystal and health potions if i am in a 5v5 or with a Long Sword if i am in a 3v3. That's because the Summoner's Rift is very big and i can't spend much time in traveling from the base to the turret just because i have no mana. In Twisted Treeline i usually play premade so we gank very much and usually get down one or two enemies every time so it is not a problem recalling for mana.

For Boots you can choose between Mercury's Treads and Ionian Boots of Lucidity. However i prefear Mercury's Treads.

After you've got your The Brutalizer; Boots and Tear of the Goddess as soon as possible, you will be in the early part of Mid-Game where you should gank as much as possible. Therefore Sheen and Kindlegem are very good obviously because of 100% damage on Auto-Attack after spells, HP and CD reduction.

I prefear to maximize Shurelya's Battlesong and get Last Whisper before i upgrade my Tear of the Goddess into a Manamune.

Conclusions

The final result should be an Urgot with 40% CD reduction and a lot of Armor Penetration, that can shoot up to 5 Acid Hunter while the enemy champion is locked with Noxian Corrosive Charge and slowed thanks to Terror Capacitor.

From items as well as from masteries you want always to pick Armor Penetration (and AD when possible), CD reduction and survivability.

Just remember to shoot your Noxian Corrosive Charge when the enemy is just about to retreat so that you will still catch him with your missles even when he thinks he is safe.
