Hello im just random rell player whos sitting in plat currently. i started playing rell before her rework fell in love with champ for her playstyle and those 5 man ults, and just want to help anyone trying to learn her.

tanky build is for those back and forth type of fights when u either cant engage fully commit coz:

they have a tanky team so u cant blow them up with ur combo and u have play slow, peel for adc so they can slowly kill tanks.

enemy has relable counter to ur engage so u have to be tankier to have more time to look for right time to q flash on them.

we build hybrid build if:
if enemy has a squishier team with no counter to ur engage u just need to look for good engage on as many champs as possable.

if they have lot of assasins but u have an peeler like ivern for adc or they have self peel. depending on how much they need more tankiness u can either build knights vow second or continue with dmg items.

we build peeling build if:
locket vs fed assasins or lot of em coz radiant delayed healing is not gonna save ur adc coz he/she will just get one-shot by fed zed so we need an instant shield for them. u would ideally wanna go for glacial runes with this setup for dmg dealt reduction with frost waves.

first off all what determines if ur gonna play as engager or a peeler is if enemy has any abilities that cancel ur w here's list of champs that can cancel ur w(that i experienced) and how hard is it to time correctly: trundle e(easy), anivia w(easy), quinn e(easy), janna q/r(medium/easy), lulu r (hard), nami q/r(hard/impossable), renata q(easy), ahri e(easy), azir r(easy), braum r(impossable), draven e(easy), vayne e(easy), millio q(easy), poppy w(easy), alistar w (easy).
this is all i could think of rn all of these are easy to perform with lower ping ofc most of these will not matter if u have ur r up.

if u dont see enemy assasins (if they have one) u cant play as engager coz ur adc go boom if u do so. so we cant engage unless we catch em too with our r otherwise we play it slow and save our w and r for when they come out of fog.

if they have immobile bruiser like darius u dont use ur r as offensive ability it should be used defensievely example: enemy darius is running at ur adc but ur q w alone couldnt stop him so u walk up to him press r and stand in place he cant out run ur r without a dash so u can stop just stop from moving entirely and ur adc gets to freely aa them.

if enemy has tanky team ur evenshoroud oneshot dream is gone, coz ur mf or samira cant deal with them with just ults so u go radiant with aftershock to just play back and forth slow type of fights tank as much as u can and cc anyone going for u back line

if enemy has relable disengage u need to be sneaky either try to cheese them in bushes from fog of war or u need to play more patiently and wait for them to use their ability that counters u if they dont fall for it. u have to have flash up and do q flash combo to disengage champ stun them before they can do anything and hope ur team follows up ofc.
