Spells:
Flash
Ignite
Ability Order
Reign of Anger (PASSIVE)
Renekton Passive Ability
Pros / Cons
- High damage early - mid game
- Awesome team fighter with 2 AOE abilities
- Mobile champion with hard CC
- Super lane-sustain
Cons:
- Damage falls off late game
- Can be kited easily (like his brother

- Reliant on a good early game to be useful late game
Start with
Boots and 3
Health Potion or
Cloth Armor and 5
Health Potion depending on your lane. You will typically want to go boots, but against annoying harass champs like
Gangplank and
Yorick the extra pots and armor come in handy.
On your first trip back you have two options. You can either go 2
Doran's Blade or rush
The Brutalizer. As of late, I usually go with the Doran's Blade, because it gives you a cheap source of health and damage in the early game.
On your next trip back, you need to get the
Giant's Belt and finish your
The Brutalizer. The health from the
Giant's Belt will make you a monster and
The Brutalizer is an awesome source of damage and armor penetration.
Your next trip back you must judge if you need level 2 boots or not. Usually I will buy boots if I know that team fights will start soon, because the cc reduction from Mercury Treads is awesome. NEVER buy
Ionian Boots of Lucidity. Sure the cd reduction helps, but Mercury Treads and
Ninja Tabi are far more useful in lane and in team fights. Get
Ninja Tabi if you are against hard ad harassers like
Gangplank or
Vayne and Mercury Treads in all other situations. It is often smart to replace your
Ninja Tabi with Mercury Treads.
At this point in the game, you want to focus on farming your
Warmog's Armor and
Atma's Impaler. After you finish these two key items, you have a variety of items you can purchase to complete your build.
Damage Items (if you are doing well and you already have a dedicated tank)
Black Cleaver,
Wit's End,
Youmuu's Ghostblade,
Frozen Mallet,
Infinity Edge, and
Trinity Force
-
Infinity Edge is only if you are really dominating
-
Trinity Force is core on most off-tanks, but is less awesome on
Renekton
Tank Items
Randuin's Omen,
Force of Nature, Guardian's Angel

Tank Items

Summoner Spells
Flash and
Ignite are your best options, but [Ghost], [Exhaust], and [Teleport] are viable. Ignite helps with early kills and Flash is an all around great spell, but any combination of the above spells is good.
Masteries
21-9-0 is my preferred setup, gearing to domination early game, but sometimes I run 9-21-0, making sure to take the CD reduction mastery.
Runes
Because
Renekton is an early game champion, designed to hit hard early and tank late, I setup my runes and masteries to maximize his early damage. By building 3 AD marks, and 3 AD quints, I maximize my damage in the early - mid game. Renekton's job is to tank late game, not do damage. However, if you are still skeptical you can use the more traditional ArP marks and ArP quints.
Skill Sequence
Leveling Q first will maximize your sustain, while giving you an excellent source of fury and damage. After maxing Q, always take your E, because it lowers to CD, allowing you to harass more and be more mobile. Obviously, you want to take your ultimate whenever you can.

Renekton is a situational pick. He is the hard counter to
Singed and
Nasus, and survives against the harder solo-top champions like
Yorick and
Rumble. I don't recommend him as a first pick in ranked, but he is a great 4th or 5th pick to round of your lineup.
Early Game
Renekton is the god of early and mid game. After level 3 when you have all your spells, you want to use your E-Q-W-auto-E combo. Use fury on your Q for extra damage and healing during this phase. However if your jungler ganks for your, make sure you use a furious W, because the stun is huge with fury. Try not to push your lane with your spells, but be very very aggressive.
Mid Game
Ideally, you want to have your
Warmog's Armor and be close to finishing your
Atma's Impaler. You really want to finish the game now, because into late game your damage dies off. In team fights, jump the squishies and stick on them with your E. Many people forget about the armor reduction on a furious Dice. Try and E through the enemies at the beginning of the fight, because it will shred their armor.
Late Game
Late game,
Renekton becomes a hard tank and a stun bot. However, he is still useful in fights. Pop your ult and spam your spells. Just try to be as big as you can and force them to focus you down.
