Hi guys im WhySoRengar, I main Rengar since begining of season 8 and I completely love this champion I have over 200 games as Rengar this season. I play him mainly top but I know that most of Rengar mains are jungle players. Rengars assassin playstyle fits mine and I hope that my guide will help you to learn how to play Pridestalker toplane!

Hey, good question! Why top when most of people play him jungle? I will explain it. Toplane Rengar can do lot of things that jungle Rengar cant.First of all: bushes, there are 3 bushes on top that can be used to last hit and poke enemy,2nd one is outplays, Rengar can outplay ganks by using bushes! He is insane roamer after lvl 6, can setup ganks using emp. E and much more things that you will found in rest of this guide!

Poke combo (lvl 1)- jump-aa(Hail ogf Blades) Q-aa
Poke combo (lvl 2)- jump-aa (HoB)-Q-aa-W (to heal up)
Poke combo (lvl 3+) jump-E (midair)-aa( HoB)-Q-W-emp. abillity
Oneshot combo- Q (active it before jump)-jump (R or bushes)-E+tiamat+W midair-aa(HoB)-emp.Q
You may think that oneshot combo is so hard to do and its too long, but if you play right you will do it in less than 1 second.

AFTER EVERY POKE COMBO INSTANTLY BACK TO BUSHES, STAY ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN FINISH OFF ENEMY

In early you will want to poke as much as you can (lvl 1). By doing lvl 1 poke combo, if you know you can kill enemy lvl 1 after poke, get 3 stacks of fero, jump on and do ur all-in jump-Q-emp Q- ignite (if needed). If you cant wait till lvl 2-3 and do ur all in lvl 3+ all in is: jump-E midair-Q-W-emp.

Roam a lot with R, when get tiamt and dusk you will be able to oneshot enemy adc unless he is super feed and have 3 items lead. Get picks, call for dragons and turrets, mid game is stronger phase for Rengar.

You fall off a little bit, you are still able to oneshot adc, stick with your team and dont initiate team fights, let your team do this and then jump on adc and oneshot him.
Try to play safe becouse late game death timers are veryyy long, if you see solo adc/squishy mid/support (like sona or janna warding or something) go and get a pick.

Thats rly diffrent to normal oneshoting assassin Rengar, for 1st you are not oneshoter anymore. You still have high sustained dmg and with tanky build and W you are able to stay alive for long in fights. You will not be able to get as much kills durning laning phase as assassin Rengar, basicly you lose some dmg to get more survabillity. As a bruiser you will want to jump on enemy durning laning phase and do your standard poke combo, but do it only when you have your grasp of undying up. Getting grasp procs is very important becouse it lets you stay healthy longer and increase your max hp permanently

Assassin:
Spells:

Flash: Allows you to chase,escape,do E+flash combo and more

Ignite: you are assassin, who is insanely strong early game, its basicly made for champions like Rengar

Runes:

HoB: more burst and better early duels. Its always better than electro, go for trades only when your HoB is up, its have very low cd (4s out of combat)

Sudden impact: more leth after jumps, as Rengar you jump nearly all the time so more lethality is always useful
Alternatives: nothing

Ghost poro: more vision helps, as Rengar you dont rly can escape from ganks (especially pre-6) so it help you to stay safe, even when pushing. If posdible try to put it in enemy jg to get free AD

Alternatives: eyeball collection

Relentess Hunter: you will want to roam a lot, it will help you to move faster through map, easier ganks and faster back to lane

Secondary: Precision

Triumph: it help always, more gold,heal after kill will save you countless times, after dive or after enemys ignite

Coup de grace: basicly more dmg on low hp enemys, help both on lane and to oneshot ADC.

Alternatives: sorcery: absolute focus+geathering storm

Inspiration: magical footwear+cosmic insight

Stats:

2x adaptive force: more dmg, you are assassin so you need it

1x armor: most of tops are AD so armor helps, vs ap matchups take mr

Bruiser:

Flash: same with assassin

Exhaust: allows you to feel safer in lane, exhaust can be used both to secure a kill when enemy is trying to escape or to lower enemy dmg durning duel

Teleport: another spell that is useful, bot for bruiser and assassin. You can gank bottom to get advantage, to splitpush late game, or just faster back to lane.

Ignite: can be used as bruiser Rengar, but its not as much effective as on assassin

Runes:

Grasp of undying: best keystone for bruiser kitty, gives you bonus hp and make safer laning phase.

Alternatives: fleet footwork

Demolish: all 3 runes in that slot isnt great for Rengar. But demolish allows you to push faster so combined with TP makes your splitpush very strong

Alternatives: nothing

Bone plating: safer lane,easier duels.
Alternatives: secound wind

Revitalize: bonus healing affects your W and grasp/fleet. Just great rune

Alternatives: nothing

Secondary: Precision

Triumph: same with assassin

Legend:Bloodline: more lifesteal allows you to be healthier in lane and heal more durning teamfights

Alternatives: inspiration: magical footwear,cosmic insight
Stats:

AD: benifits you more than attack speed, lets you cs easier and overall increases dmg

Armor: against AD armor against AP magic resist

HP: bonus hp helps when you play bruiser Rengar, against hard ad/ap matchup you can take double armor/mr.
