Introduction

This a guide on how to have exceptionally high damage with Sona. This build can be used in mid or if you get... SUPPORT EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT ON YOUR SELECTED ROLES.

Pros and Cons

Pros

- Very high burst damage
- OK sustain in lane
- Very good team fight presence
- Also support (not really)
- Takes people off guard
- Very good ultimate (passive and active)
- "Do you have any idea how fast I am?"
- Moral support if you have DJ Sona

Cons

- Low AoE (only ultimate)
- People will call you a troll
- Squishy
- Prone to targeting
- Painful start

Items and Playstyle

This build leaves you squishy so this build needs a semi-competent team. You shouldn't be in the line of fire as you have decent range and can move in and out of combat really fast with Song of Celerity. Remember you have the Seraph's Embrace active to help you in a pinch. Let your team tank, after all you're giving them shields, heals and speed. Make good use of your auras in getting teammates out of danger.

Make sure you have Power Chord as often as possible to increase your damage. If you cycle through your abilites you can get the buff from Hym of Valour to deal your highest possible damage. The cooldown passive from Cresendo helps to up overall DPS as the cooldown reduction leads to 67% total cooldown reduction (the passive is multiplicative).

Pick Zhonya's or Banshee's as needed for the situation.

The reason for dropping boots in the end build is you already have Song of Celerity to speed you up and you are given an additional 17% speed in passives from Lich's Bane and Luden's Echo.

Runes

Only magic pen you have is void staff so the magic penetration runes help offset this
. Then we get an extra 20%(ish) CDR to cap. Then some mana runes to help sustain.

Masteries

Chosen around increasing your burst and overall damage output, I don't feel there is any further explanation is needed.

Skill Sequence

Prioritising damage is important as you're not a support... or if you are then keep it secret. Your non damage abilites will be up by the time team fight are fairly common.
