Ki Strike: // Shen's next attack periodically deals bonus damage.
Ki Strike is based off your HP. The more you attack the faster it comes up as well. So you're going to want to build a nice big pool of HP so this passive procs hard and with that HP pool you'll be able to tank and auto enemies all day procing this ability more and more.
Vorpal Blade: // Deals 60/100/140/180/220 (+60% Ability Power) magic damage to target unit and marks them for 5 seconds.Allied spells and attacks against this target heal the attackers 6/10/14/18/22 (+ 1.5% of maximum Health) over 3 seconds.Killing an enemy with Vorpal Blade restores 2/3/5/6/7 (+0.5% of maximum Health) Health instantly instead.
This ability is great for harassing in lane as you can do it over and over since you'll never run out of energy and it actually heals you too! Use it to last hit minions to get a good heal boost back to yourself and make sure to auto attack any target that you hit with it to get an increased heal back to yourself. When you enter the lane in the early laning phase (level 1 and 2), be sure that you position yourself for maximum amount of harass early game. Try and hide in the bush that you think the enemy top lane will come into. If you know top lane is coming from Blue Golem buff (after leashing for the jungler). Then sit in the brush in river (near top lane). You can Q and then auto attack, then move, q again. This harass early game is VERY important to winning the lane. Try and auto attack some of the creeps so that you hit level 2 prior to the enemy champion. You want to be the first to level 2. Once you do this; you should be able to get a kill immediately. You want to FLASH, then Q and fast taunt. Once they are taunted; q again and keep auto attacking and ignite if you know you can get the kill. The amount of damage is unexpected and you will almost always get a kill nearly every champion.
Feint: //
Shen shields himself, absorbing the next 60/100/140/180/220 (+60% Ability Power) damage. Lasts up to 3 seconds. While Feint holds, his attacks reduce Ki Strike's cooldown by an additional 1 second.
Standard ability that absorbs damage. You max this 2nd to make you a stronger tank. Shields actually scale with resistances so the higher HP pool you make your shield the tankier you actually get. So maxing this 2nd is a great idea if you're wanting to absorb damage. The key part about Feint is using it at the right time. You want to 'prepare' mentally for what the incoming combo is from the enemy laner. For example, if you are laning against Gankplank - his combo will be Parley and then auto attack, auto attack. Plan for this and save your Feint for when the combo is incoming. The damage will be reduced and your COUNTER COMBO will deal more damage. The reaction speed of your W needs to be very quick. Using it before an incoming combo is vital to winning the lane. If you hit it AFTER because of your delay in reaction time; you might lose lane.
Shadow Dash: //
Shen dashes in a direction, dealing 50/85/120/155/190 (+50% Ability Power) magic damage to champions and taunting champions he collides with for 1.5 second(s).Taunted enemies are forced to attack
Shen and their basic attacks deal 50% reduced damage.Restores 40 Energy per champion affected.
This ability can be used over walls and can be used to initiate or just escape situations. It gives energy back based on how many enemy champions you hit so try to aim for more then one if you can! It also ONLY damages enemy champions and not minions so you can't use it to farm! You'll take 50% less damage when you've taunted someone by only the champions you've taunted though. So you won't get the bonus on champions you haven't taunted.
Stand United: // Places a shield on target allied champion, absorbing 250/550/850 (+135% Ability Power) damage for 5 seconds. After channeling for 3 seconds,
Shen teleports to the target's location.
Shen should ALWAYS be farming; I mean always. Your CS should be nearly double what anyone else's is on the map because as soon as your up; you should be going to lane to push. Don't be afraid to just hide in lane and then re-appear to keep farming (making the enemy team thinking you went back to fountain.) You should be mastering the art of split pushing. We have a guide that talks about split pushing on the site; please read this - pay close attention to the 'one man split push' technique.
