Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
Fleet + Resolve. . Play to scale, avoid trading with her when your E is not up and her E is. Buy an oracle after 6 or during mid game to see where she is in shroud. BE AWARE OF HER BUFFED ULT CD, IT IS VERY LOW NOW. However, major nerfs to all her items and especially her Q energy cost makes it much easier to duel her, and even easier in the late game. Do not fight her at 6 unless she sux, and you have jungle help.
Zed
Fleet + Resolve. The hardest matchup for you in the game. Try your best to poke him and dodge his Q's pre-6 when his W is down. Try to walk in and out of it's range bait it out, never use your E unless his W is down, that is your only window of opportunity to really trade with him solo. Farm and play to scale once he reaches 6. Give up farm if you need to. Do NOT ult him when his ult is up. Buy an early chain vest after Berserker Greaves if you are really struggling and they have a lot of AD.
Ahri
Fleet. Annoying poke, take cleanse if you are big poosy. Do not ult her if her R is up, abuse her long ult cd early on, stand behind minions to avoid getting charmed.
Irelia
Fleet or Conq + Resolve. Very big lane bully threat, it's very hard to trade back with her mobility, especially if she is skilled. time your Q's when she Q's a minion, be wary of her E cooldown, that is her ticket to winning lane. Play it safe level 6 as her ult will give her a lot of dive opportunity especially if you are low.
Fizz
Fleet + Resolve. This matchup isn't as hard compared to the likes of Zed and Akali, who have safe ways to outrade you. When he goes in for a trade he is forced to use his E to either disengage or burst you down, and whatever he chooses to do you can easily punish him, especially with bone plating and fleet you can deny his burst and be able to survive to trade back. You still have to be careful of his burst damage at level 6, you will die if he R's you.
Ekko
Fleet. Ekko will always out damage you in every trade, but if he messes up, his spells will be on a set cooldown, which is very long early on. Play to scale, and go in when he misses his Q and R is on cooldown. Most Ekko's like to W the middle of the wave to zone you off, because you either get stunned in the zone or you have to give up farm and can't poke him because he gets a shield.
Viktor
Fleet. Take Resolve if you need. Most Viktor players don't really know how to abuse his early game, especially at low-elo. But a good Viktor main would understand how to abuse you early on and poke you out of lane. Completely avoid walking up level 1 if he has Aery because he has one of the best trades mid lane with that rune. Soak in the EXP and play for level 2 when you unlock your W. But if they do not respect your mobility and don't manage their cooldowns well, the game is yours.
LeBlanc
Fleet-Resolve. There are very small windows of opportunity to walk up. But, you can still trade back if you play it right. I recommend taking Doran's Shield on top of the defensive rune start, it will realy help. Buy a Hexdrinker if you really need it but I wouldn't really recommend it because you are rushing immortal Shieldbow anyways.
Galio
Conqueror, His Q's are not hard to dodge, if he misses his E you just win. Make sure to get a QSS if you need to because his cc becomes very powerful in teamfights. PING YOUR TEAM FOR HIS ROAMS
Orianna
Fleet. You can survive her poke really easily with fleet and her shield can't do justice for her compared to yours when you all in. Use your E to trade with Q3 if she misses her Q. She is immobile and ult her if her flash is down.
Aurelion Sol
Conqueror or Fleet. If you lose to this champion especially pre-6 I don't know what to tell you. he will not be looking to fight most of them time and when he does you outrade him regardless. just be careful around his Q because you have no way to deny it like Yasuo can. When the Q is about to explode you can E to potentially dodge it and go in for trades. PING YOUR TEAM FOR HIS ROAMS.
Talon
Fleet + Resolve. Like all other melee champions besides Yasuo, it is very easy to lose lane against a Talon. Even if the Tiamat changes do hurt him a lot, his abilities and trading combos still out damage yours by a mile. Play around his cooldowns, go in if he misses his W. Give him one kill and it could potentially be over. PING YOUR TEAM FOR HIS ROAMS.
Syndra
Fleet. You have to be careful around her early poke, up until you have enough to get Berserker Greaves, then it becomes easier with extra movement speed and more attack speed to stack up your Q's. Play it safe for the first few levels and give up farm if you need to. A good Syndra player will definitely make if hard for you but if you play it safe you can take it from there.
Yasuo
Fleet or Conqueror. It is very Yasuo favored in the early game, but his damage output is almost the same as yours. Respect his mobility early on, and try to punish him if he misses his Q3, and use your E and your own Q3 to fight back.Take short trades only. His annoying dashes and Wind Wall makes it easy for you to miss your skill shots, so when fighting him mid to late game try to take advantage of him when he has no other targets to dash to. You both are playing for the same exact power spikes so keep that in mind. It's pretty much down to whoever lands more Q's and dodges the most skillshots, which Yasuo is more favored in that too. He is one of the easiest champions to gank so try to freeze your lane and call for jungle help if you need it. You scale much harder than him so once you snowball you take the game from there.
Renekton
Fleet + Resolve. Doran's Shield. Anything that counters Yasuo messes you over 10 times harder, mostly seen top lane though.
Katarina
Fleet. I would always take MR in runes before the game starts, many Katarina players like to start with a Dark Seal and still build AD Kraken Slayer. Plus, her passive grants her additional cooldown reduction if she manages to get any takedowns. You win levels 1 to 2, but be careful around her all ins at level 3. Good micro can save you. Try to walk in and out of her dagger range to bait her out but be careful since the hitbox is much larger than the actual circle indicator the dagger creates.
Darius
Fleet + Resolve. Doran's Shield. The key to this matchup is to not be a *****. You can still trade with him when his E is down. IF HE E'S YOU EVEN ONCE YOU ARE SCREWED DO NOT LET IT HAPPEN. Mostly seen top lane.
Kassadin
Conqueror
Lucian
Fleet + Resolve. His early game poke and harass is unmatched compared to all other mid laners, and it is a lot harder to all in him compared to the likes of Yasuo. Play to scale, you will definitely beat him late game. All in him when he wastes his E. Give up farm if needed
Xerath
Fleet or Conqueror. All in if he misses his E. the one thing that insecure Xerath players like to do is to hit the wave and the enemy at the same time. Everytime they use a Q, it will most likely be targeted at the wave, especially if he is against a mobile champion such as Yone, because it is too unreliable to try to hit skill shots, especially with the lack of mana items this season. Try to stand next to the wave and off of it to bait out his Q, as it's one of his biggest tools to poke you with. You outscale and one shot him with even a few items, because your burst is too strong for an immobile champion like his.
Diana
Fleet. She can't all in you too much pre-6, but that doesn't mean that she can't win trades, since she still can by a simple, Q E AA combo. Dodge left if on Red side and right if on blue side. Beware of Level 6 all in and play it smart.
Malzahar
Fleet. Be careful of gank setup. Try to fight him early on so that he uses his abilities on you instead of the wave to prevent him from hard shoving.
Qiyana
Fleet + Resolve. If they have heavy AD an early chain vest after your Berserker Greaves can be a good buy. You can poke her level 1 but be careful once she hits level 3 because she can easily all in you and delete your HP.
Veigar
Conqueror or Fleet. You will still get stunned on your way back if Yone's spirit comes into contact with the cage, so when you arrive back at your body you can't move but you will probably be in a safe position anyways.
Vel'Koz
Fleet. Just be careful around poke, I like fleet to sustain through it and the movement speed makes it easier.
Twisted Fate
Fleet. Annoying poke, give up CS if you need to. Do not go in when he is picking a card because he will chose Gold if you choose to do so. Wait until he chooses specifically and play accordingly. PING YOUR TEAM WHEN HE IS MIA FOR HIIS ULT
Vladimir
Fleet or Conqueror. You do have a slight upperhand early on, but he can still zone you easily at level 1. Take Ignite always and build executioners before Berserker Greaves. Just recall if you are low HP, his Flash R combo will kill you.
Zoe
Fleet. The lane matchup is kind of similar to the Ahri matchup, but instead of losing your HP bar after being charmed, your E will cleanse her E bubble, which denies Zoe's damage output significantly. All in if she misses E in lane and be wary of her poke.
Sylas
Fleet or Conqueror. Your ultimate is one of the strongest in the game, and handing it straight over to Sylas can mean game over. Flash if you need to, and poke him early on levels 1-5. His cooldowns are very high early on but his abilities deal a decent amount of damage, so use that to your advantage when punishing him for missing an ability. Similar to Vladamir, rush an Executioners before Greaves and run Ignite.
Cassiopeia
Fleet. Similar to Syndra, she has a lot of early poke with Q and her W disables all of your abilities, meaning you can't R or recast your E to return to your original position. This makes your laning phase a nightmare for taking one trade if she has her W up, so try to bait it out by fake engaging or jungle gank, and it gets even easier once you get Berserker Greaves and Mortal Reminder with bonus attack speed, and the executioners passive is helpful too. She has very bad mana problems early on even with a Tear because she is so reliant on her E for sustain and farming, so definitely punish her when she falls short. buy a QSS post level 6 or mid game for her ult if you ever end up getting stunned by it.
Annie
Fleet + Resolve. Doran's Shield. She has the longest attack range out of any other champion in the game, and her abilities will also do a really good job at poking you out. Give up farm, and play safe. Only trade with her if she misses her E stun and only has 1-2 stacks of her passive. Play passive when she reaches 3. Her level 6 R stun will kill you. Buy some early MR, or go Wit's End first before Shieldbow if they have a lot of AP damage and buy Mercury treads if you choose to do so as Wit's End provides more than enough attack speed. I recommend building an Edge of Night later in the game after your core items as it denies her burst damage unlike Mercurial Scimitar which only cleanses her CC and you still take her burst damage.
Viego
Ban this disgusting slob you call a champion. Riot should really give up on letting things like this through.
Neeko
There is very little you can do against Neeko's early pressure. It's almost impossible to beat her in lane due to her high damage and lower cooldown abilities compared to other AP mages. You don't have the capabilities of windwall and your mobility is very limited pre-6. Ask for jungle help as much as possible. Fleet

Hey! My name is Ryank30 and I am a Yasuo and Yone main. I wanted to clear up some things on their builds and clarify what to do on specific match ups for viewers! I hope that this guide will be helpful in knowing what to build for Yone and giving tips for some specific matchups. I will be constantly be updating it as more changes in pre-season come out going into Season 11. I hope you enjoyed my guide and I wish you luck on the rift!
