Early items

serrated dirk is a standard first item on zed, caufield if you love cdr so much, qss if you don't know dodge mechanics, hexdrinker if you're against leblanc or fizz or similar AP bursty assassins, cutlass is great early items on zed when you hit lvl 6, tiamat if your behind and bf sword if you can buy it early.

Defensive items

if you got qss early you can ungrade it to scimitar, if hexdrinker then maw. this season 7 if you got maw u don't need scaling cdr on the glyphs and if you're not against a bursty champion you can get cdr on runes and get edge of night later on. steraks if you think you can't survive ad damage. And since Zed is a melee champion you can get GA for "Being alive" purposes especially in team fights.

Runes

now that armor pen is changed to lethality, it's probably the best to put lethality marks in the runes i just put ad marks for early damage and cs. you can still use ad on marks but on your mind should be finish it before it gets late game. cdr on glyps depends. if you think you'll get maw then don't get cdr otherwise get it.

Teamfights

Now in teamfights, Zed doesn't shine well. But here's the technique. Poke with your Qand wait for someone that will proc your Passive and that's where you'll do Zed's combo. if you killed him with it, ult on a squishy target or on someone or else you'll die early. but if you didn't kill him, ult on the target you almost killed. after that go back wait for cd's and you're good to go.
