By Zeffie
My experience

Hey there I'm Zeffie, I play in OCE and go by the ign Zejuani.
I picked up league in 2020 and since then have put countless hours into many champs and roles. Throughout this experience I found quite a few different playstyles I enjoyed with phases where i mained champs like Zyra and Neeko to playing lots of Leona and Jinx. Throughout all this playing and really getting to understand each role to my best capacity I found Sejuani to be the most appealing and fun character to me. She has lots of Potential to disrupt and surprise opponents in ganks and teamfights. I ended up low silver for seasons 10 and 11 of ranked but when i started to learn and play Sejuani I steadily climbed and managed to reach gold by the end of Season 12. While it is comparitavely a 'low' rank it's quite an improvement and this champ has a lot do with it.

I believe that Sejuani is one of the best champs to play if you're looking to improve at Cooperation and Jungling, much like Leona and other tanks her kit is used effectively when you can synergise and execute engages and fights with other teammates well. throughout the stages of late last season and the new preseason i've found that top is an area Sejuani can shine quite well if you don't like the pressure of jungling or just want something else to play.
Why Sejuani?

Sejuani has many benefits to picking her, from a strong CC heavy kit to incredible synergy with melee champs she can be quite a valuable member to many team comps.

While Sejuani has great team work potential she is also incredibly strong on her own thanks to her secondary passive. Whenever Sejuani attacks an enemy she stuns with either her E or R she deals a bonus 10% max health damage which is incredible into most top laners. After an enemy is stunned by Sejuani's E they gain a 10 second cooldown before you can apply permafrost (E) stacks again, however, her ult can bypass this cooldown to not only apply a second stun but let you re-proc her passive again.

Because of this fact Sejuani actually can be used as a burst Champion while being tanky. Not only do you have high CC and health scaling damage on her W, you gain a basically free 20% max health damage ontop of that when you full combo or even secure a pick on a >50% health laner from afar with R and ignite. This reason alone is what truly excels Sejuani as a champion to me
Abilities and laning

As mentioned previously, Sejuani's kit is all about CC and lets her be a strong, healthy tank.

Sejuani gains bonus Armour (10+50% bonus) and MR (10+50% bonus) while out of combat, this also grants her a resistance to slows until she takes damage, from that point after 3 seconds this will expire and go on cooldown until not taking damage for a long enough duration. This makes champs with strong early damage or engages with slows struggle to fight Sejuani but be careful all they have to do is auto you to remove it

The second part of her passive as i talked about earlier is a bonus 10% max health damage on enemies she stuns (only while they are stunned and this will break the ice meaning only 1 proc per stun)

Q: Q is a decent range dash which knocks up enemies briefly on hit and deals a decent bit of damage. This can be used for many different purposes, whether you are repositioning or engaging/disengaging. This dash can be used through terrain so long as it's short enough to pass through but the true beauty of it is that you can cast other abilities while dashing. Meaning you can get a quick high damage engage with a Q-W or even a long range stun with Q-R. While it has a high CD early on the versatility lets you take ignite and use Q as a flash substitute once you are confident with her.

W: Sejuani whips her flail twice, first in a cone and then in a straight line, the first hit deals less damage but knocks minions towards the center and the second hit deals high damage while applying a slow to any enemies hit. Both hits of this will apply permafrost to enemies making it good to start or weave in with auto attacks to get stuns off, don't be afraid to throw as many as you can during fights though, the secondary damage and slow can make for some sweet picks. Once this reaches max level you will be able to fully proc E with just W as long as you hit all 4 swings and cast the second W as soon as possible.

E: Sejuani and any nearby ally melee champs will apply a stack to enemies with autos, once at 4 autos Sejuani can stun an enemy in range for 1 second placing them on a 10 second cooldown before E can be stacked again.

R: R has 2 forms, at close range (>25%) it will stun briefly and deal a bit of damage, good for quick combos and close encounters. But at over 25% range it will stun for longer and create a circular slow field around either the first enemy hit or wherever it lands at max distance if no enemies are hit. After a brief duration the field will 'explode' and damage any enemies caught inside. While it is quite a long range ability the beauty of it is most of the time even at close quarters you will get the secondary version.

Sejuani's laning phase is quite easy to learn, unless into ranged laners it isnt too hard to cs and you can always use W to clean up a wave once you get Heartsteel (casters die from both hits). The only issue you may come across is mana. Sejuani has decently high costs which can make it easy to lose out on your power in trades and fights because you run out of mana leaving you without cc or an escape.

It can take a little bit to learn the balance between how much you can poke before an all in becomes a struggle but once you get the hang of it it's easy to stay ontop of. The best trick for this is to try and catch both minions and the enemy laner in a W cast. This way you get cs and damage off on them and then either if they move towards you or you can quickly Q in you can get a nice E proc and then back off gaining that sweet max health damage winning (almost) any short trade.

Sejuani has a few different ways to weave in her abilities but most situations you'll easily learn what works best for you and the fight ahead.

Poke: there are two forms of the simplest poke e proc combo, nice and simple for good damage
if you're close enough to auto first
This combo can work as a surprise and is quick due to the time to auto after the secondary hit of W being quite fast

Stepping it up is easy where you can throw a Q at the start of each combo as well, the knockup letting you be more disruptive of abilities, autos or movements of enemies

All in: The key to all inning as Sejuani is the double stun proc, HOWEVER, while its is strong don't let it stop you from getting an early jump with an R engage or making a gank easier with R first.

follow the earlier comboes with Q's included and just add an ult and ignite at the end

Burst: when the enemy gets low enough any of the above combos work really but dont understimate what else you can do, the basic burst is:
With this you can engage from range whether its from afar or just close enough that you can still get the bonus damage and stun duration on R, the combo letting you get an easy ~500dmg before reductions from early on. You can always throw on an ignite or even auto before the w if you need.
Final notes

This is the first guide i've made, i hope it wasn't too long and that it was easy to understand

And i hope if you do use this build you can have as much fun as I do :)
