Talon... Right, be careful around him. He can pretty much one-shot you at mid game if you aren't careful. Watch out for his Passive and Stay away from the walls if you are not sure where he is.
Introduction
Heya, I'm Shady. Most of you know me as "SilentWingShady" or as "Ashenbaker".
I've been playing league for few years now and just started in Euw Couple months ago.
I'm Supp/Top Main and I usually play safe and other times aggressively.
I haven't played ranked matches yet cause I'm still learning how to play vs. certain champs.
Goal: Welp, the goal will probably be Gold III.
Champs That I Play:
Jinx, Taliyah, Tristana, Soraka, Irelia, Sona, Lux Cho'Gath, Katarina, Ashe and couple others
Note that This is the first time I'm doing any kind of Guide. So, It may lack certain things, but I'm trying to make things right.
The "main-rune-page" that I and many other players use for Taliyah is more focused on bursting down the squishies.
"We" run the Domination as first skill tree and sorcery as the second.
We go with Electrocute since it synergizes with Taliyah's W+E (+Q) combo pretty well.
Then we go with cheap shot for extra "true damage" against the laners.
For third skill/rune we go with Eyeball collection since it gives adaptive bonus damage 0,6 ad or 1 ap (Ap / Ad) per takedown. This can stack up to 20 times.
For the last rune, we'll go with Relentless Hunter for extra movement speed. This will help you when you're ganking other lanes or just roaming around the rift. It synergizes well with Taliyah's passive & with the rune "Celerity" so you'll be able roam around faster and get back to lane faster.
For the Second skill tree, We'll pick Sorcery.
For the first rune, you want to pick "Manaflow Band" since you'll most likely have mana problems. This will help you with them.
And the last rune shall be "Celerity".
As stated earlier, it synergizes well with Taliyah's Passive & "Relentless Hunter", which will help you roam faster and get back to lane faster.
For the "Second-Rune-Page", I run mostly the Sorcery/Domination Skill Tree.
Sorcery: I usually go for "Summon Aery" as keystone ', cause it can help you poke your opponent. The second Option would be "Arcane Comet".
For Mana Issues I go for "ManaFlow Band". It can be pretty useful at early game cause you're gonna run out of mana pretty soon.
I go for "Celerity" next cause of her "Q Passive". In worked ground, you gain 10% MS so it works pretty well with that.
The last one in Sorcery shall be.... "Scorch". It can help you get the enemy champ to low health in certain situations. Other option for this would be "Gathering Storm". It can help you in Mid & Late Game.
For the Second Skill Tree, I pick... Domination.
You might be wondering.. "Why to pick Domination?". You'll understand soon.
For the first rune I use, "Cheap Shot", It can be useful when you slow the enemies with your E or use your W.
For the second Rune I use Zombie Ward.
Everyone wards the river at top lane so. "Kill the enemy ward if your's is on Cooldown". It might save your life once or twice from ganks.
I start with Q most of the games, cause its your "main damage source".
You can poke with it, but remember.. It does a little bit damage around the target it hits. Use it with "Arcane comet" for damage.
Okay, so the second ability shall be E.
I usually max E second cause its useful in ganks and may help you survive..
Any enemy that dashes through it or is pulled through it, will take some damage.
It slows them down a little bit.
Third ability is of course W. You can do pretty nice amount of damage with the E + W combo if you manage to pull the enemies with W.
Remember, it can save your life too! Example: Use it to push the enemies away from you.
The last, but not least.. R, The giant rock wall.
It aint that good to be honest.
But you can make good 2v4/2v3/2v2 and so on situations with it. This ability is quite tricky in certain case. You gotta time it right in to the right direction.
Little bit info about Her Passive.
Technically you gain little bit of movement speed near walls/towers, by that I mean literally staying as close as possible to walls or towers.
Its good for getting back in to the lane after "Recall" or after you've been killed.
So as Taliyah in top lane, you mostly want to focus on farming in early game.
Use your Q to farm or to poke your opponent most of the times, but be careful so you don't run out of Mana while doing so!
If your opponent is tanky champ, then focus on farming and you can get little bit aggressive sometimes. If your opponent is somewhat damage based champ (building either ap/ad) Then Play it Safe, You don't want to feed or get killed!
Remember to ward the river at 1-3 Min, The enemy jungler will most likely try to gank.
Another thing about Wardin is that you have to buy sometimes Control Wards.
As top laner, remember to ward/check the Rift Herald/ Baron sometimes.
Focus on farming early game and little bit in mid game.
In mid game you shouldn't have any mana problems. Tho you may have lost or won your lane.
"So what Next?" Well then, I recommend you to help in mid lane and help to take the objectives down. Example: Rift Herald/Baron, Dragons or Towers.
In late game you're most likely to be the tanky or damage based champ in team fights.
Remember to time your Q and E. Sometimes to cut the enemy team in half (turn 5v5 situation into 3v5 or 4v5).
If you decided to try ranked games with Taliyah, Good luck then!
You don't see many Taliyah players in ranked games nowadays, but it doesn't mean people don't play her there.
After you've mastered Talyiah, You should be able to climb from from any elo, just remember to keep practicing and ofcourse.. Playing other champs too sometimes.
In ranked games, people are aware of the opponents abilities and they have map awareness. So should you be and have.
Tho, in this case. I recommend you to start playing Taliyah Mid (If you managed to climb from bronze to silver/gold with Taliyah) cause in top lane.. It will get harder to play her properly. You may encounter Yasuos, Teemos, Malphites, Master Yis and so on that are more skilled than you. So I recommend to switch to Mid Lane Taliyah After Silver/Gold.
