Introduction

Hello, guys. I am ShadowSlayerMain or SSM, a Aatrox main who ended up in Gold Tier in S9. On this guide I will show you how to abuse Top Lane as Mordekaiser, the AP Juggernaut who is easy to play. Be sure to read my chapters well because they have explanations and more. Good Luck!

Pros And Cons

PROS

+ Strong Early Game
+ Lane Bully
+ Be Unbeatable in Late Game
+ Best R- Focus

Thanks to his high Q- damage on a single target and his Passive-, can be unbeatable in Late Game.

CONS

- Missing Abilities
- Easily Kited
- Bad Late Game Focus

Missing Q- and E- is a big disadvantage for because when it happens, Passive- isn't casted and you don't have mobility or AoE damage. Also, focusing the wrong enemy with R- may ruin a Teamfight easily.

PRECISION

Mordekaiser's most frequent keystone is Conqueror for increased damage and can also be compatible with his Passive- Darkness Rise for increasing his damage easier since it's an AoE Spell.

Triumph is the best part for Mordekaiser because it restores some of your missing HP after a takedown. It can also be useful in Teamfights to have the chance for being more aggressive and keep fighting.

Legend: Tenacity is the best part for Mordekaiser for more Tenacity. Legend: Alacrity can be a use that is compatible with his AAs but taking the axe shard is more recommended.

Coup de Grace is the best part for Mordekaiser for more damage against low HP enemies. Last Stand can be optional for more damage when on low HP but Mordekaiser doesn't have Spell Vamp from his own kit so Coup de Grace is recommended.

RESOLVE

These are common secondary runes for Mordekaiser. Bone Plating reduces the incoming damage from an enemy champion after you take damage from them for 3 times. Revitalize is ideal for increasing W- Indestructible's HP regen.

This is your Starting Item. Compared to Doran's Ring it still deals increased damage against minions and restores HP, something that Doran's Ring doesn't do.

One of them is bought along with Doran's Shield as soon as a game starts.

This is Mordekaiser's basic Core Item for CDR and an Active mobility option.

This is your next Core Item for slowing enemies by using your offensive Spells.

These are the most common built Boots on Mordekaiser. You will build them usually on Top Lane.

These are the alternative built Boots on Mordekaiser and are bought against AP enemies like Teemo and Rumble.

This is an ideal purchase since it can be compatible with your Passive- Darkness Rise to deal more damage.

This is your offensive Grevious Wounds Option. Mordekaiser's Passive- Darkness Rise is a pretty nice Spell for Teamfight so they can make him OP in Late Game.

Mordekaiser's Auto Attacks deal magic damage so this can be an ideal purchase since it also grants CDR.

One of the most useful items for AP champions. If your Passive is triggered it can be ideal for dealing damage while being invulnerable.

Tanky options against Auto Attack based enemies that also reduce their Attack Speed. Their Passive and Active abilities are useful in Teamfights for more CC.

This is your mobility option with Armor. It can make your next Auto Attack slow the target.

This is the MR option for also increasing your HP regen. It can be compatible with W- Indestructible's 2nd cast.

Another Magic Pen option.

An ideal Late Game option.

After you full build, you can build this to increase your Tenacity.

Laning Phase

As Mordekaiser you can farm from both short and long range. At level 1 you 'll be starting with Q- Obliterate, your basic Spell for dealing damage. You can also use its bonus damage against single enemies to last hit enemy minions from distance. At level 2 you should continue with the Spell that will save you in the entire game. If the enemy laner has early damage or Spells that are very effective on you you should continue with W- Indestructible while you 've got Passive- Darkness Rise, which is another offensive Spell of yours. When you get E- Death's Grasp you can't just start trading with the enemy laner but you can also escape from ganks. This can also happen when you have reached level 6 and got R- Realm of Death because you can use it for killing an enemy with lower level than yours or less items. Some champions counter you in Early Game so casting R- Realm of Death in the wrong time may be a bad strategy. There are some useful and easy mechanics you can use:

-Basic Mechanic for Trading in early levels

Late Game

Mordekaiser can easily take out an enemy from a Teamfight thanks to his E- Death's Grasp and R- Realm of Death so you should target the one who will give you the stats your team needs. If it should be the enemy ADC, sometimes you 'll need your team's CC since you don't have a stun or route and they can easily kite you. Then you can prepare your E- Death's Grasp before you cast R- Realm of Death to pull them and they won't be able to kite you. After a successful objective with R- Realm of Death, you can use your Passive- Darkness Rise for AoE damage and help your team win.

In Conclusion
