Introduction

(Note: Some game situations require you to pick and mix items from both the 'sustain support' and 'aggressive support' builds, hopefully my item explanations will help you when deciding which items to choose).
![]() It provides defence by enabling you to flash over a wall or flash from an oncoming spell. It can also provide offence by enabling you to flash towards the enemy if you need that final hit, however I find this type of scenario not occuring very often. |

This armour will help during early game to reduce the damage of any attacks/pokes done to you, it also let's you stay in the lane for longer. Same reason as the ![]() ![]() During early game, the enemy support will mostly cause magic damage when trying to poke you. This rune will help to reduce that damage and slightly helps late game in team fights when the APC is present. No need for ![]() ![]() |
Sustain mastery tree
Offensive:
You don't need offensive masteries if you're sustaining the team.
Defensive:
Lux is very squishy and needs some defence masteries to help her out in the game.
Block
can literally be a life saver if you're getting chased on low health.
Veteran Scars
and
Juggernaut
both give a nice boost to Lux's health enabling her to stay in the lane for longer.
Utility:
As a non-tanky support, you will need to concentrate on the utility masteries.
Greed
,
Scavenger
,
Wealth
and
Bandit
will all help to provide you the gold you need early game to rush those important items.
Culinary Master
; Cookies can be life savers, literally!
Fleet of Foot and
Wanderer
gives you extra speed needed either for running away from enemies or running to your allies help.
Aggressive mastery tree
Offensive:
If you're going aggressive, you will need damage.
Expose Weakness
is a good mastery which can let you and your ADC provide extra damage to the enemy.
Mental Force
and
Arcane Mastery provide you with some ability power in the game, this will make your pokes more painful.
Feast is a decent way to restore health and mana when performing wave clears late game.

There are three uses for
Lucent Singularity:
Below, there are two images showing the use of scouting. As we can see the scouted brush is clear and the dragon is still alive.
Note; the scouting effect does not work with stealthed champions such as Teemo, Rengar, Evelynn, Shaco or Twitch.
Below is an image showing the enemy Sona caught in
Lucent Singularity. This gives the ADC longer time to attack the enemy. Try to activate the second part of
Lucent Singularity just as the enemy is about to leave the spell zone, this will increase the time they are slowed.
----
There are two uses for
Light Binding:
Below is an image showing how two enemy players are trapped with
Light Binding, thus enabling me to escape alive. Please take note that
Light Binding does not stun the enemy, they can still attack you and allies whilst trapped. Also the spell hits two enemies, use this to try and trap two enemy players at once by using the spell at the correct angle.
----
There is only one use for
Prismatic Barrier, however it can be a life-saver one:
Below is an image of me using the spell on the ADC, this spell will give a shield to every ally it touches but will always give you the shield first. Therefore try and turn the enemies attention to you before using the spell, this will increase the chances of allies surviving.

Here is a map that roughly shows the best warding locations during certain game phases:
Notice how you cannot ward all of the black or light blue dots due to the Season 4 ward restrictions, this is where you will need to communicate with your team and ask them to place the wards in the locations you are currently unable to.
Same goes with the pink wards in the dragon and baron locations, however I usually place the pink ward on dragon during the early stages of the game and move it to baron during the late stages of the game.
Now here are 2 cheeky images of how to place the pink wards on dragon/baron:
The pink wards can only be seen once the enemy team has started attacking the dragon/baron, this will give the warning that they're there just before the ward get's destroyed.

I hope this guide helps you when using
Lux support and gives you a better understanding of what to get during the game. Leave comments if you wish, but no trolling or verbal abuse please.
