Introduction




xxxxx Talon is an attack damage burst assasin. Which means that he can quickly take down any squishy opponent, can come there by suprise, and is countered by 6x Thornmail.

Items

xxxxxxStarting items:
xxxxAs a mid lane Talon you can start the game with ether Long Sword and 2x Health Potion, or Crystalline Flask, sight ward and Health Potion. The choice between 2starts depends fully on your opponent, if you think you're gonna have an easy lane with no harass and a passive enemy jungler, go with the Long Sword start, but if your opponent is someone that pokes you every time you go to cs, go with full consumables, so you can stay in lane for over 5minutes.

xxxxxxFirst recall:
xxxxOn your first trip back I suggest getting The Brutalizer, because every champion gains armor with level, and if you don't get penetration you'll do no damage! Also I suggest getting Boots or if you're doing well a B. F. Sword.

xxxxxxFull build:
xxxx Mercury's Treads - These boots give you tenacity, which you will need if you want to get kills in teamfights, other wise a simple 2second stun might end your life. Also the Enchantment: Furor helps you stick to targets in case they run, it provides you with a nice boost in movement speed after you hit an opponent.
xxxx Last Whisper & Black Cleaver - These two items are both mostly for the armor penetration, which one to get first is all about your preferance. I suggest getting The Brutalizer early and then getting Last Whisper before finishing Black Cleaver
xxxx Ravenous Hydra - This item provides you with a very nice attack damage boost, and some lifesteal. But the main reason to get this item is the passive and active abilities, it makes your auto attacks do splash damage, which means that if your opponents are bunched up you damage all of them.
xxxx Bloodthirster - This item gives you a great boost in attack damage if you take the time to stack it with lasthits, it also gives you a good amount of lifesteal so you can sustain in fights.
xxxx Guardian Angel - This item provides you with armor magic resistance which you need to survive, but the biggest upside of this item is it's passive. This pretty much gives you a second life, and the opportunity for your team to come and back you up, and maybe even turn a fight arround.

xxxx Noxian Diplomacy - This ability makes Talon's next auto attack deal aditional damage, and applies damage over time to the target, the target also leaves a blood trail wherever he goes for the duration. It's maxed second because of it's additional damage on-hit and additional bleed damage.
xxxx Rake - This ability sends out 3spinning blades which shortly return to him, damaging all enemies in a cone area. It is maxed first for the slow increase, and the damage. It's Talon's best waveclearing ability, after buying a B. F. Sword and having this ability max rank, you can 1shot caster minions, and melee minions will be 1attack away from death.
xxxx cutthroat - This is Talon's gap closer, which makes him jump behind the target and apply a silence. It's maxed last, but you need to put a point in it early for gap closing.
xxxx Shadow Assault - This ability makes Talon go invisible, and send out blades all arround him, after a while, or when reactivated Talon comes out of stealth, and all the blades return to him. You need to put points in to this ability whenever you can, because it offers a great escape, altho the side you're headed to is soon given away by where the blades go. It also deals a lot of aoe damage, and if you position yourself correctly, multiple blades can hit a single target when returning.

Greater Seal of Armor - Provide you with an armor boost, so that you can stand up to AD mids a little bit, and defend from AD junglers. This also helps late game a little bit if ad carry focuses you.
greater mark of armor penetration & Greater Mark of Attack Damage - These runes provide you with some armor penetration, so that you can fight vs opponents that get armor runes, or vs opponents that rush something like Zhonya's Hourglass vs you.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - Provide you with magic resistance which you need to stay in the mid lane, because most mids are ability power, or if they're not - their jungler will most likely be.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage - Alowe you to lasthit easier, and maybe even get a kill if the opponent gets cocky.

Spells

xxxxxxRecommended
xxxxFor a mid lane Talon I suggest using Flash and Ignite combination, this provides you with a nice escape if needed, and lets you finish off kills.

xxxxxxAlso viable summoner spells:
xxxx Ghost - This summoner spell provides you with better chasing ability than Flash, but the escape options are a lot worse, and Talon can stick to targets pretty well even without it.
xxxx Exhaust - It's a very good 1v1 ability, reducing your opponent's damage and movement speed, so you can get the little edge if you were lacking it :P It can also be a very good teamfight ability, which can be used on the enemy team's strongest fighter while you kill someone else who is squishier.

Farming

Farming gets pretty easy for Talon after getting max rank Rake, because it deals a lot of damage to all minions, also after Ravenous Hydra you should be able to clear a wave in Rake + Ravenous Hydra active combo. So after 30minutes in to the game you shouldn't be lacking cs at all, actualy you should have most or close to the most in the game.

Teamfights

In a teamfight, you should always be the one to initiate, you should use cutthroat on the enemy team's squishiest member, then use Shadow Assault to go invisible, quickly Rake over him and one other target if someone is close, use basic attack on an opponent and use Noxian Diplomacy on him, then basic attack again, and active Ravenous Hydra active, after that run in a direction so as many of your ultimate's blades hit the opponent when it ends. That's when your team initiates, because the fight is suddenly not 5v5 but 4v5. Your full burst should take no more than 2seconds if you have low ping and have practised it many times.
