Introduction

is an amazing melee-range assassin that does mind-blowing burst damage. You will rip squishy AP champions to shreds in seconds when you get how to play Talon right. Talon uses blades to attack very violently without feeling mercy to the enemy team. If you don't know how to play Talon at all - read this guide. Though this guide can be short, it has the basics of Talon inside of it.

Masteries

For masteries I go with basic 21/0/9 taking as you want to slow down that bastard running away from you with 20hp. From masteries you should also take . What is better than 15% longer buffs?

Runes

Greater Quintessence of Desolation: Aww yeah! Three of these give you 10 armor penetration, which gives you huge damage boost to rip out those enemies hearts!
Greater Mark of Desolation: More armor penetration? Explained it on quintessences. More potential to kill enemies.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: Magic resistance per level can save you from that LeBlancs gank try to burst you down.
Greater Seal of Armor: In teamfights when you use your ultimate, you're gonna run to a bunch of enemies. You really need that armor to survive.

Summoner Spells

: Flash. Why? You can get that enemy champion by flashing into him / her and then using Cutthroat. Or you can escape from a nasty gank by using flash. Best-summoner-spell-ever.

: Need to win a face-to-face fight like Tryndamere? Don't worry, while he uses his Endless Rage, you Exhaust him and make a trollface. Easy pie.

: Ignite is an alternative for exhaust. If you like ignite more, then pick it. It's your decision, both are very good and useful summoner spells, though late game Exhaust might be a little better.

Ability Explanation

Mercy Cutthroat

Mercy Mercy: A great passive, that makes Phage very good item on Talon. 10% bonus damage to CCed target always gives some extra damage.
Noxian Diplomacy (Q): A great skill, makes hell of a amount of damage. Late game burst comes mainly from this ability. Use this before Cutthroat for a very quick burst damage and nasty silence. Also resets auto attack timer. Max this second.
Rake (W): Oh my god I love this skill. So good to harass with this, and late game you can even kill minion waves with this. Also a great slow, and remember, Talon makes 10% more damage to slowed targets! Max this first.
Cutthroat Cutthroat (E): Deals no damage, but pops Talon into the back of the enemy, silences him/her and combined with Noxian Diplomacy this is also great harass. Max this last.
Shadow Assault (R): Best AD ultimate I know in this game so far. When you use this, you get stealthed for 2.5 seconds and got movement speed bonus and the blades will split into a circle, dealing damage. When you appear next time (attack or stealth ends) the blades will rush back to you - dealing damage once again to the enemies they hit. Max this always when you can.

You really want to try this combo every time possible, except if you're harassing. For harassing, use . This combo is great since you use , boosting your next melee attack, then rush to enemy and silence him by Cutthroat, then slowing him/her down and dealing crazy damage by , if needed use and keep running on front of your enemy as the blades return to you and he or she should be dead.

Items

: Crazy damage boost and armor penetration boost. You really don't need that Youmuu's Ghostblade since this item already gives you what you want from Youmuu's. Though you can buy Youmuu's after earning some money to spend when you already have full build.
: These are the best boots for every single champion in the game because of the +35 tenacity. It can save your life so many times, because Talon has not any kind of escape mechanism except Shadow Assaults 2.5 second stealth.
: Talon has no any healing or shielding skills, so lifesteal is so nice. You can keep going forever without going to base because Talon with lifesteal clears one minion wave and has full hp. Of course the bloodthirster stacks with +40 ad also sounds nice.
: This item is often complained about because Talon is an assassin. Yeah, that's true, but what you gonna do when everyone focuses you on teamfight? With Warmog's Armor you get that little survivability you need for get more kills and better teamplay. Plus, combined with Atma's Impaler it gives a very nice damage boost.
: This doesn't need to get explained. More survivability, more damage combined with Warmog's Armor.
: This is also often complained about, I think it's a very great item for almost every champion in the game (okay not really) but for Talon, it really is great. Especially the Sheen and Phage. Oh yeah.

Teamfights

In teamfights should focus taking the squishy supports and/or AP carries down one by one. Cutthroat into the fight, use , and get a few kills. One versus one fight Talon should win as long the enemy is not armor stacking or a pure tank (, ). Just don't fear in teamfights to rush into battle. Use your ultimate A-L-W-A-Y-S in teamfight as it does CRAZY AoE damage and has such a short cooldown that you should always use it in fights if possible.

often gets focused in teamfights cause they know you do so much damage, but even this is cleared by your ultimate. The 2.5 second lasting stealth can save you, and I'm not lying. Just don't fear to use your at all times when you feel using it.
