Introduction

Hey guys I just want to share my thoughts of Jax with you. Before he got nerfed hard I played him pretty ofetn and he was one of my favorite champs. Then when he got reworked I was really impressed of him and how good he became. In this guide I gonna explain how I play him and how good Jax actually is.

Runes

There are to options of runecombinations:

1. Greater Mark of Strenght AD Quints, Greater Seal of Vitality Hp / level Seals, Magicresist/lvl Glyphs and Magicpen and Arpen Quints

2. Greater Mark of Strenght AD Quints, Greater Seal of Vitality Hp / level Seals, Magicresist/lvl Glyphs and Greater Quintessence of Desolation Arpen Quints

I dont really know what is better but I tend to get the first option. AD Quints are a must have since EVERY spell even his passive scales with AD.

Masteries / Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells:

As summoner spells I chose Ghost and Ignite.
Ghsot is very usefull chase down someone and to keep your passive up.
Ignite will help you in the laneingphase to finish someone when your spells are on cooldown and to increase your damage due to yor masteries.

Abilities / Skill Sequence

Relentless Assault

Every time Jax attacks an enemy he gains 4 / 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 % increased attack speed for 2.5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 6 times. Will still stack if the attack is dodged or misses due to blind.
.

Nice passive althought the old one was better :P.

Leap Strike

Jax leaps towards a target. If it's an enemy, he attacks, dealing 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+60% of ability power) (+1.0 per bonus attack damage) physical damage.

This ability is just so awesome, it has a really good scaling and a low cooldown. Free inbuild flash!

Empower

Jax charges his weapon with energy, causing his next attack to deal 40 / 85 / 130 / 175 / 220 (+60% of ability power) additional magic damage.

An other great ability with a very low cooldown. It also resets your autoattack and provides good damage. All in all a really strong spell due to his cooldown. Perfect spell for Trinity Force

Counter Strike

Jax dodges all incoming basic attacks for 2 seconds and reduces AoE damage by 25% while he is dodging. At the end of the duration, Jax deals 50/75/100/125/150 (+0.5 bonus attack damage) physical damage to nearby enemies and stuns them for 1 second. This spell deals 20% (up to a maximum of 100%) increased damage for each attack dodged. Jax has the option to activate the ability again after 1 second to end the effect early.

Well rounded ability which deals moderate damage and has an amazing dodge. Furthermore it makes him really tanky and in combination with Leap Strike it is a good spell to engage a fight

Grandmaster's Might

Passive: Hitting 3 consecutive times enhances Jax's next attack for 100 / 160 / 220 (+70% of ability power) bonus magic damage.

Active: Jax gains 25/35/45 (+30% of his bonus attack damage) armor and 25/35/45 (+20% of his ability power) magic resist for 8 seconds.

I actually like the new ultimate more then the old. It makes him much more tanky

Priority:

* * *

I max Grandmaster's Might first. Then I go for Empower which gives me a high damageoutput on a low cooldown. Because mobilaty is very importent and in order to get more damage I go for Leap Strike next. Then I go for Counter Strike before.

In the first levels I go Leap Strike, Counter Strike and then Empower. I do that cause its much saver and you can escapes ganks easily. But then I max Empower because of the really good DPS due to its cooldown. More explenation in the "Gameplay" section.

Preferred items

After my core items I prefer to get Guardian Angel and Maw of Malmortius. GA gives me nice armor and magicresistance. It also has an amazing passive. MoM is also great as it provides huge damage, nice magicresi and it also has a really good passive.

Other viable items

Srsly, I dont suggest to go any other build... I play LoL now since 2 years and Jax was one of my first champs... he was my main before the nerf and is it now again. Tis build is just well thought and it gives you anything you ever want.

Gameplay

Laneing:

Jax is one of the strongest champs in 1on1 situations... he can beat every champ that rely on autoattacks easily. The only point where Jax is weak is the first 2 levels... so just try to farm and take as less harras as you can. Once you hit level 3 you can trade damage really good. Active E and Q to an enemy, autoattack then W. THis will do a lot of damage but it also cost a lot of mana. I dont suggest to try to get a kill so early only if the enemy is bad. It would be a too close fight and you gonna run oom pretty soon. So just farm as good as you can and mbe use W to harras when they attack you. Once you hit level 6 there is nearly no toplaner who can fight you. Autoattack a minion 2 times, then jump to your enemy with E active, autoattack (ult gonna proc + E) and active W. Nearly no champ can deal with that burst. Do that 2 times and you will most likely get a kill. Make sure to max W since it provides the most DPS and in combination with your ult the burst is just "OP". If they try to fight you after the combo your W will be rdy really soon and you can get your ult stack faster since it resets the aa. With Ghost and Bilgewater Cutlass noone gonna escape after you threw them to 30%. Using Ignite early is also highly recommended since it gives you bonus AP+AD!

Teamfights:

In teamfights your job is to focus the carrys. Mostlikely the one who is the most fed one. With Gunblade an Ghost it should be kinda easy to keep close to him. If you play smart you might catch an out of postion enemy with Q+E and get a good advantage with that.

Summary

First of all, thanks to Searz for the awesome guide format! You can find it here.

So far, I can say that I nearly win ever lane with Jax and that he is superstrong... in nearly every game people complain I play an "OP" char :-x. One ranked @1700 elo I had Trinity and Gunblade finihsed after 20 min ;O. Imo Jax is an easy to learn and hard to master champ. Just keep playing him and you gonna get to know his limits and what you can/cannot do.

Giong into detail soon! Just have no time atm!
