Introduction

My name is Divinev. This is my first guide and there won't be any fancy pictures to make this page look cool or anything. Just plain information that I believe is important to a Lee Sin player. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I mainly play Lee Sin and up until recently, I've used Bloodthirster and other AD items in my build. This didn't work too well most of the time, as Lee Sin falls off late-game. This tanky item build has won me at least 80% of my Lee Sin games recently, so try it out for yourself.

In this guide, I will assume you have a decent knowledge of the game.

Pros and Cons

PROS
-Good ganks
-Strong early game
-Slow and shield
-Can easily protect ADC by kicking enemy away from ADC

CONS
-Not as much damage lategame
-Requires decent/good allies

Why Tanky Lee Sin and not more AD?

This is a build that keeps your opponent annoyed and scared of you for the entire game. A more AD Lee Sin build falls off late-game even with Armour Penetration and in teamfights the enemy will probably kill you really fast with no sweat.

A tanky Lee Sin in the lategame may not do much damage but is a big nuisance, since he has around 4000 health and a decent amount of armour and MR. Your kick does a lot of damage and if you kick the enemy to your own team, then chances are you just scored a free kill. Also, he has a perma slow with his Frozen Mallet and he can give a shield, lifesteal, spell vamp and armour to an ally every 9 seconds.

Runes & Masteries

The runes are self explanatory.
-9 Greater Mark of Attack Damage - AD runes for easier jungling and more damage.
-9 Greater Seal of Armor - These armour runes help you survive in the jungle and help you be more tanky in whole.
-9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - Better than flat MR runes because you are going to be tanking lategame, not earlygame.
-3 Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage - Again, easier jungling and more damage.

On the Offense tree, I take the normal AD masteries, Butcher for easier jungling and Armor Penetration for more damage.

On the Defense tree, I take masteries that help you jungle easier - more gold every time you use Smite and also extra health.

Ward Jumping

Scene 1
YOU SEE AN ENEMY AT THEIR TOWER
1. Place down Sight Ward
2. Dash to it
3. Dragon's Rage towards ally
4. ????
5. Profit

Scene 2
YOU SEE AN ENEMY AT LOW HP ABOUT TO RECALL - OH NO YOU'RE TOO FAR AWAY!
1. Place down Sight Ward
2. Dash to it
3. Use Q
4. Use Q again
5. Use other abilities if needed
6. ????
7. Profit

Scene 3
OH NO THE ENEMY ARE DOING BARON. YOU'RE ON THE OPPOSITE WALL TO BARON.
1. Q the Baron Nashor
2. Q again to dash to it
3. Smite steal it like a boss
4. Place Sight Ward back on the side you came from
5. W to Sight Ward
6. Run for your life because the enemy team is mad

NOTE: Ward jumping can take a while to get used to and smartcasting wards can help.

Items

Mercury's Treads - MR and CC lasts shorter
Wriggle's Lantern - Lifesteal + That red buff is no match for you now, not to mention the free ward.
Randuin's Omen - Armour and Health + Slows that annoying Caitlyn
Frozen Mallet - Perma Slow after you catch up to that annoying Caitlyn
Warmog's Armor - You suddenly look super hard to kill after you get this item
Atma's Impaler - Attack damage for your high hp! How convenient

After you sell your Wriggle's Lantern pick your last item depending on the enemy team.
Guardian Angel - Revive after you go Leeroy on their team
Maw of Malmortius - AD, MR and you get more AD when you take damage. (Mainly for the Magic Resist)
Thornmail - When the enemy team needs to basic attack you to do damage. The armour is also nice.
Mercurial Scimitar - Someone recommended this item to me and it seems decent. MR and extra AD is always nice, not to mention the active which removes debuffs and gives you movement speed.

Summoner Spells

Smite - You need this because it helps you to jungle much faster and it can steal dragon and baron.

Exhaust - I prefer this over Flash because in teamfights you can kill one person and exhaust someone else rendering them less useful while your team kills the enemies. Also, this spell can help slow the enemy down when you gank which gives you more time to ward jump behind them and Dragon's Rage them towards your team.

Flash - This is also a decent spell because it gives a free escape and you can Flash+ Dragon's Rage someone, but to be honest you should be able to do all the things a flash can do with ward jumping.

Jungle Route

Buy Hunter's Machete and 5 Health Potion. Tell your team to defend your jungle and help you kill Wraiths and The Lizard Elder.
Wraiths spawn at 1:40 so if you're not getting invaded, level up your E.
The Lizard Elder spawns at 1:55.
Use a health pot while doing Wraiths , and more health pots during jungling when needed.
Jungle Route
1. Wraiths
2. The Elder Lizard(Red Buff)
3. Golems
4. Wolves
5. Ancient Golem (Blue Buff)
6. Wolves
7. Wraiths
Etc.

NOTE: IF YOU SEE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GANK DURING THIS JUNGLE ROUTE, DON'T HESITATE TO DO SO.

Lee Sin as a Champion

I've played many games with Lee Sin and it is easy to tell if you are going to lose or not.
The one thing Lee Sin cannot stand is FED CARRIES! This contains their fed AP mid - a fed Brand or Katarina is going to kill you in 1 second. This contains their fed ADC - a fed Caitlyn or Ezreal will be impossible for you to take down. Same with their Top Bruiser such as Riven. Even their fed jungler could be a real pain in the ***.

In other words, A FED ENEMY IS WHAT YOU NEED TO AVOID, which is why I pointed out in the "Cons" section that you require decent/good allies to do good yourself. Your allies need to be able to actually kill the enemy. I can think of a million games where I've gone something like 3/0 and then become something like 4/8 because you can't dent them hard enough and you die in a second.

Summary

I know this guide isn't very fancy or very entertaining to read, but the information is solid and important. This build is very effective overall as it means that Lee Sin becomes useful for the entire game instead of just the early game. Before you vote - try it out for yourself. Please note that you need good team-mates to have a good game as Lee Sin.
