Why Top Lane Quinn? Pros and Cons~

Quinn has a overall high burst damage from just her basic attacks due to Vulnerable targets. Hence a Top Lane Quinn can be achieved by building the correct items and playing correctly in each phase of the game.

Pros of Top Lane Quinn:
- Easy harass if the enemy is a melee type champion. If he/she walks up to you and gets marked by Harrier, simply attack him/her and back off.

- Able to spot incoming ganks if used Heightened Senses at the proper timing. Hence no wards can be achieved if you are careful, therefore saving some gold for other items. but I would still recommend buying wards.

- Able to trade well with usual Top Lane Champions due to her Q/Blinding Assault.

- All phases of the game will have quite decent damage output.

- Can chase/escape with R/Tag Team.
[More to come along]

Cons of Top Lane Quinn:
- No natural escape method due to the lack of a support. Even with E/Vault, she is still a easy target.

- Low base MS.

- If failed her Q/E abilities, generally a easy target for killing.

Why these Runes and Masteries?

With these Runes, Quinn would be able to dish out high damage, generally, higher than any champion at early game. Also with the scaling of MR, she would have higher survival rate into the late game as her only type of champion that can deal against her is AP.

Due to the runes being fully focused in damage output(as seals are replaced with Attack Speed instead of Armor seals), a full Defense Mastery is needed for her survival at top lane. With Unyielding and Block, champions would deal 5 less damage.(and yes 5 is a lot!) And with Honor Guard, that effect is further increased by 3%.(and yes that is still a lot!) Slow and CC duration is reduced hence she would have a better survival rate. Also with the increased Armor/MR/Health Regen, she can trade better with Top Lane champions like Garen/Riven/Darius/Singed/Vladimir etc.

Of course, you can always use your own build of Masteries and Runes if you don't like my build, as long as it works for you, it's good!

Why these Items? Alternative Items for Quinn!

- Always start off with Boots and 3 Health Potions as Quinn as a really low Base MS, she needs that boots in order to play well in top lane.

- If you play her well enough in the early phase, try to harness at least 1.6k gold before heading back to purchase Avarice Blade and Vampiric Scepter, if possible get potions and a couple of wards. Why these items? Avarice Blade gives you additional 3 gold every 10 seconds and +2 gold for every unit slain. Hence it helps you build up the gold gap between you and your lane counterpart. Vampiric Scepter provides you with a decent damage and lifesteal, providing you with enough sustain as long as you can attack. Together with Harrier, you can heal more back.

- Then get Berserker Greaves, Statikk Shiv and Alacrity Enchantment. Why these items? Berserker Greaves for the added attack speed you are going to have, it works perfectly together with your attack speed runes and W/Heightened Senses. Statikk Shiv for the the added movement speed, lightning proc and Critical Strike. This item would make your harrasment better and pushing easier. Alacrity for the base MS increase! Basically this items are for your general MS increase due to your low base MS and to provide you with better survival rate.

- Then Blade of the Ruined King comes in! If any bruiser intends to tower dive you, simply tag him with this item to steal his MS and health. It also provides you a lot of Attack Speed so you can charge up Statikk Shiv faster, also provides you with extra damage with every physical attack dealt, basically every damaging abilities of hers is going to proc that effect. After this item, if you want some health get ruby crystal, if you want more damage and mana, then get Sheen.

- Then progress into Iceborn Gauntlet and Black Cleaver. Why these items? Iceborn Gauntlet works amazingly with Statikk Shiv, The AOE ice field damage thingy and the lightning together with Blade of the Ruined King's proc is going to ripped even the tankiest champion apart! And also they cant get to you due to your ice field! With Black Cleaver, the damage from Blade of the Ruined King will be further increased due to the armor shredding effect. Hence shredding your target with every continuous attack!

- Finally you can get a Warmog to add to your survival as you would already have plenty of damage to shred through any champions as long as you can attack. Then get the usual elixirs and oracles if you need!

Alternatives!
Don't want Iceborn Gauntlet? You can replace it with Frozen Mallet. The slow works almost the same but it does not go together with Statikk Shiv proc. Up to you!~

Don't want Black Cleaver? You can replace it with Last Whisper for more damage and flat armor reduction!

Don't want Warmog? You can get Mercurial Scimitar for MR/DMG and a Cleanse effect! You can also get Maw of Malmortius for MR/DMG and shield when you are low in health.

Don't want Alacrity? Furor works well too. But since it only procs when you attack, the flat MS boost is still my style.

If in any case these items don't work for you, you can always build your own items and your own pace and order, as long as it works for you, it's good!

Summoner Spells and Skill Order!

Why these Summoner Spells?
Flash is like a given! Like all champions needs it! So I think it is pretty self explanatory!

Barrier is good for her as you can use it when people tower dive you, during clutch times and etc.

Ignite is good too but I would like Barrier for the added survivalbility.

Why Barrier and not Heal? Differences:
Barrier gives you more "health" then Heal.
Heal can be diminished if you are tagged with Ignite.

NO Clairvoyance - You have your W/Heightened Senses!

NO Clarity - Unless you want to throw the game!

Cleanse can be considered if you don't like Barrier/Ignite

Exhaust can be considered for the slow, damage reduction and increased damage dealt.

Ghost can be considered if you think you still need more MS if you think that her MS is still low.

NO Heal! - Reasons:
Barrier gives you more "health" then Heal.
Heal can be diminished if you are tagged with Ignite.

NO Smite! - Unless you really suck at last hit and you are trying JG Quinn which is ridiculous.

NO Revive - Unless you are new to LoL!

NO Teleport - Unless you want to play 4 man gank at other lanes!

Why the Skill Order?
W/Heightened Sense in Level 1 for the proc effect when attacking targets with Vulnerable. Also used to checked in brush far away.

Max E/Vault first for the Cooldown and the Mobility that is going to give you. Also Vaulted targets are marked with Vulnerable hence, your next attack is going to deal more.

Get 1 level in Q/Blinding Assault before Level 6 just for the blind when you trade with Champions like Olaf, Wukong, Riven etc.

Take R/Tag Team whenever possible to give you your so called first ever 'Natural Escape' skill due to increase mobility it has when switched to Valor. Also it is your Ultimate, no reason not to pick it up by Level 6/11/16.

Max Q/Blinding Assault next if you want the overall damage output or Max W/Heightened Senses next if you want the increase in Attack Speed and Cooldown for the reveal.

And of course, if you think this does not work for you, you can have your own! If it works for you, it's good!
