By Freemo
Welcome
Hey guys, I'm Freemo and i've been playing league since Season 2!!! I'm a gold player(Yes gold making a guide) mainly because i play for the rewards and that's it. I've hit plat 1 at my peak on my main which is now banned, RIP epicdead. I know play on my smurf account, "Level 15". Feel free to add me if you want any real time advice just let me know you added me from mobafire. I'd like to thank you for giving my guide a chance!! Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for and if not please leave a comment of what you want me to explain or give more detail on.
BIO
I've been playing league since Season 2, i used to play a lot of Tryndamere and really liked the concept of under played champions and mastering them to a level normal people could reach my many hours of practice. Rengar i believe was released in season 2 and i remember him being so strong and broken and i couldn't resist but to play him. His kit reminded me so much of Tryndamere but with invisibility and more assassin like. I also remember when Tankgar was meta because his damage was so bad that assassin Rengar wasn't viable for the team. That doesn't mean i didn't stop playing him, i continued to play rengar but other champions as well. I didn't really start getting into rengar until season 3 when aatrox was released. I liked the fact that hardly anyone at all played rengar and if they did they couldn't "Perfect" him. I took it upon myself to play rengar ever since then. Till this day i still considering him my main champion even though i play him rarely. I don't like bringing my rengar into casual matches unless im trying new builds or things of that sort considering i'll get tired from the game and want to end ASAP since the enemy team cannot keep up.
Reasons behind the builds and runes
In short, I've tested it and found the best results for what i was looking for, runes as well. You can change them if you feel as if it isn't your play style.

In detail, I really like the way rengar is played. Assassin like while also having to play smart and utilize the bushes to your advantage. While using the Ravenous Hunter, no matter what the % im getting back in healing, i want to give myself as much healing as needed. You start off with dorans blade and with ravenous hunter you do heal if you look at the hp bar. Ravenous stacks up increasing the healing you get with autos and E. We all know its annoying to die to minions because you needed a little extra health. As for the build, well Spirit Visage has always been my go-to item when i need extra healing without buying extra healing. I think of Spirit Visage as a tankier Blood Thurster ( You can buy blood thurster instead of Hydra BTW but you'll lose AoE dmg and a free damaging ability) with tanky stats.
Laning
So as for laning with Rengar, its pretty simple. What you want to do is stay in the bushes. The Best thing you can do is abuse the abuses to your advantage. Don't fight until 2-3 stacks and make sure when you do decide to fight, get behind them. Not only does it make them choose a longer path maybe by milliseconds but you'll notice it when fighting. Just kite backwards towards their turret but not within range and keep autoing them between the movement. When you fight with 3 stacks plus the one Q you're basically 100% guaranteed the kill or force a flash. When you're fighting with 2 stacks + 1 Q, they will think they can fight you and stay awhile longer but remember to stay behind them and between them and the turret. Your level 1-3 is are the best times to fight someone considering you basically have 4 abilities with empowered in a row.

You want First blood?
When the lane starts sit in the bush, preferably the middle one. Stack up to 3 stacks and jump onto the enemy laner. position yourself between him and his tower and continue to go ham on his cheeks until he flash. You'll get a second chance once you let the lane push back towards you if he doesn't recall. If you don't have it by then you don't get first blood. if you level up get E for the slow, if hes below i'd say 10% ish hp and you have q up Flash + Auto Attack + Savagery + Ignite
and thats how you get FB.
Other Items
Well technically the items i gave you are the best for Rengar but here are a few worth noting.

Guardian Angel it's an ok item, but why would you want to settle for an item that's going to keep you stuck in one place while you rez? There's a reason you died. Its basically an hourglass but longer cooldown and not worth the stats.

Trinity Force An okay item with the sheen procs and move speed bonus but it doesn't offer much that would be worth buying. You should be looking for Health, crit, Armor pen and cdr. Not bad item but not worth it.

Stormrazor LOL, Thank you, Next!

Phantom Dancer is basically a better Statikk Shiv since it has a shield now but statikk shiv still has its moments considering the lighting can crit.

Bloodthirster It's a great LS item for rengar but the flat ad and healing doesn't make it better than hydra sadly, or else i would of used it. Use if you don't care for AoE dmg but highly advise against.

Maw of Malmortius should only be brought if you're vs. an ap burst mage or more than 1 AP mage and need the shield and resist.

Edge of Night Probably an item that would be on the core but considering it isn't great great, i decided not to put it on the list. The free spell shield is amazing but their are better items worth the gold.

Youmuu's Ghostblade Great item, buy if you don't want Shiv or something.

TANKY ITEMS: Listen, if you're going to go tankgar you have the wrong guide.
Mid/ Late game
Multiple things you can do:
Split
Pick
teamfight

My favorite is picking: What you can do is make sure to have the enemy jungle warded. When you're fed enough and you'll know when you are. Find a nice comfy bush to sit in for about 20s and if no one peaks find another bush and do the same thing. Not just a random bush tho, find a bush where they the enemy team likes to travel past a lot. kinda like enemy blue side blue buff bush. Its a rotating spot for dragon and botlane to mid. You can also use your ultimate to pick off the lonely adc bot lane while shes lacking communication with her teammates.

Splitpush: Its simple, splitpush since rengar Savagery Works on towers and you can split super hard with rengar especially if you're left alone. It takes maybe 20-30s late game to take a tower with 2 full stacks of fury. Just make sure to ward for an escape route because someone will come and try to stop you.

Team Fights: Don't sit with your team, flank to the left or right side of the enemy in your Thrill of the Hunt or in a bush. When you see a lone squishy wonder pass a little too far out, pounce on them and blow them up and retreat back to your team or a safe spot. You can repeat this but they will know where you're coming from so make sure to switch it up. You wont last long as a front line so DO NOT ENGAGE IN FIGHTS FIRST UNLESS THEY ARE ALREADY LOW . The only time you should engage is if there's 2 people and both are super weak due to team or item wise. Again no Head on fights
