Hi, this guide was developed by me and a few friends who also main Support (All of us are Challenger/Diamond). Thresh is, if not the strongest, one of the few god tier supports which include Leona, Morgana and Braum. Me, and most Supports main Thresh because of its high potential for Solo Queue. Thresh has the best balance between Damage, Toughness and Crowd Control which is why he is so strong. Following this Thresh guide you will be able build him correctly against any team.

Almost always, you get Flash Ignite, but if needed, you can change Ignite for Exhaust or Heal. Some Marksman depend on Attack Speed to burst their opponents (Vayne, Twitch, Etc), in that case you should get Exhaust. And heal is real situational, if they have a Jungler with no gap closer, the movement speed should help but your adc should take barrier since two heals doesn't stack.

As i mentioned in the notes, you can also play Thresh 0/16/14 in difficult lanes. That's because adding more points to defense gives you a better Early Game.

Try to use your Shield Ability on Melee Minions since they give more gold. Always save a stack for the Big Minion and remember the Ability also heals your Adc, so use it wisely.

During early laning, you got 3 biscuits and a mana pot, that means your only ward is your trinket so if you're gonna place it on the lane bushes do it just when necessary.

Most times for Ranked Team, you should get the Coin because of the Movement Speed buff. When playing with teammates you can land longer Hooks if they Stun or Slow the enemy so try to synchronize the spells with them.

Jungler Gank: When your jungler ganks, you should always hook before throwing the lantern to him. Also, for an easier hook, you can use Flay first, and then Hook, it will land most of the time. You can combine the Flay with a Flash if needed.

Enemy Gank: If the enemy ganks and you throw the Lantern to your adc, flash if needed so he can escape. You can also hook the enemies and flay them, if you die and your adc lives, its probably worth.

Early Engage: This is probably the secret for high elo bot lane. To get level 2 you need 1 Wave + 3 or 4 Minions, so, you must kill the first wave exactly when the second wave of minions comes so you don't push the lane. After that, farm as fast as you can to get level 2 before your opponent and engage. You should Flay the closest enemy and then Hook it. If they have Heal, use ignite. This technique can be can also be applied at level 3 and 6.

Poke During Lane: Before poking try to charge your E and its Red, that way when you trade you'll deal more damage most of the times. Remember that you have 3 biscuits, so if you take more damage than the enemy adc, it's still worth because he doesn't have as much sustain as you do.
