Enjoyed your guide. Very well put together. I have been main zyra for season 5 and 6. There was a few things I have taken from your guide and it has definitely helped my win rate (currently 70% with 150 games). Couple things you could add is early dragon. Maybe everyone already knows this or I might blow some people's minds but you can proc drag to attack your plants for 4 hits and it makes early drag safer. You just need to W Q (do this twice) behind drag and it will attack plants instead of jungler. And with her new passive you can sit at gromp or golems and it makes for a quick leash and plants take damage instead of jungler. Just remind jungler to not let plants take camp. Once again great guide and appreciate the good info!

I'll be sure to add that the next time I update the guide. ♥ Thank you.

I started playing Zyra using this guide, and crushed every game so far. It seems like low rank players don't know how to deal with her properly. xD Most games I deal about as much damage as the adc, but in magic damage instead of physical.

I like that you explain her adc synergies and counters. What about supports? I'm curious about who to look out for, and who to use against her. I personally always countered her with Janna (playing super defensively with coin and letting the adc farm). I imagine that a good Blitzcrank or Leona could counter her as well. Also Vel'Koz and maybe Brand, but I feel like Zyra can beat Brand.

P.S. laning as zyra with adc teemo can be a lot of fun.

I do plan on making a support section but I've been super lazy recently. Zyra is good against Janna in some cases where either Zyra's ADC is an aggressive early game champion (Draven, Lucian) or the enemy ADC isn't very strong in short trades (Kog'maw). However, a good Janna will usually beat Zyra because she'll just shield her damage.

Blitzcrank and Leona are some of the scariest supports you could go against as a mage support and Zyra is no exception. Those two completely dumpster her if you make a mistake as Zyra.

I'd say Brand is like twice as strong in lane as Zyra, but his teamfighting is a bit weaker. Brand snowballs a lot harder than Zyra though, and he has better damage pre 6.

Don't pick Zyra into Vel'koz. It's a hit or miss lane and it'll usually end badly.

I have a quick question about runes. You listed two options, and the first option has significantly more MR than armor. Do you find that you need the extra MR in bot lane? I was just thinking that it might be more helpful to have AP in glyphs (or MPEN if you prefer), and still 2-3 armor quints.

I'm just starting to learn Zyra, but I'm basing this on my experience with other supports. I usually find that I don't need a lot of MR in runes for bot lane, especially when taking health seals (though it is helpful against some bot lanes that have lots of magic damage). What do you think?

I guess what I'm proposing would be a hybrid between the two rune sets. A little more damage than rune set one, but a little more defense than rune set two.

It really comes down to personal preference. I only ever run page 2 (full magic penetration) but when I was starting out on Zyra I found that using MR glyphs were good because I never really built much magic resist. This build isn't something that is set in stone, and nor should the runes. If you want a mix between offence and defence instead of leaning towards just one then go for it! League is all about personal playstyle and if you find that it works for you then who am I to stop you? (>^-^)>

Am I the only one who hates the Zyra rework?

She feels really weird to play both as and against now. Her entire playstyle changed and she's not as dynamic as she was before. She has a very linear win condition now; you win lane and snowball out of control or you lose.

But yeah, I'm not a huge fan but I'm glad they got rid of her stupid passive.

Great guide for the new zyra. Maybe consider rod of ages or hex items since they have been updated?

But i threat here differently.
I start with roots then Q then W, reason rooting helps your companion more, and in those first levels your not going to kill so its better for teamwork.

Another difference i go for ferocity attack items instead of the defensive ones from resolve.
BEcause well lets face it Zyra is burst E > W > Q

Main items on zyra are : Morenolonicom + Rylais cristal scepter; because it gives your team advantage of slowed down even if your E>W>Q misses a plant shot still slows them down.

And i think you should dive more into playing with ASHE, he's the top combo for zyra.
Reaons both play much alike your roots and rylais scepter + his slow; allow for easy escapes and great attack.

And dont ever invest into wards invest into AP

Thank you for your comment!

I've heard your concerns, and I understand that some people do play Zyra like that but I solely play her for lane pressure on the enemy ADC and to then transition into an AOE mage mid game who can counter engage or follow up when my team is the one engaging.

I feel like Morellonomicon isn't actually necessary on her and I only build it in instances where I'm needing to rely on DPS instead of burst and the enemy has a lot of healing. Sometimes, the best way to kill tanks is to buy Morellonomicon because without the CDR your burst combo will barely do anything, but your plants will obliterate them with Liandry's Torment.

I disagree by saying that Ashe is the strongest ADC with Zyra. I do need to update the matchup section and also write a VS support section but I feel like the best picks with Zyra are currently Jhin, Kalista and Caitlyn because they can all take advantage of the burst Zyra has, and they have decent poke and/or trading.

Wards are vital to win. If you don't invest in a Sightstone and the enemy does, you may as well have not bought the AP or even an item at all because you're going to get killed in fog of war without being able to do anything in return.

wtf are the MPen glyphs ugh. The idea of dropping ap/mr/cdr/lvl for MPEN of all things in glyphs sounds terrible to me AT LEAST because AP glyphs outdamage them. not 100% but even cdr/lvl is unneeded as u can PROBABLY fill 40% cdr with support items that u have literally one of in your "standard build" but at least have mentioned somewhere deeper in the guide. Wiithout mr glyphs and 1-2 armor quints you honestly will just get one shot by enemy bot lane AND/or their jungler because of how abusable zyra is by junglers. And I think your avg deaths of 6.4(!) over 76(!!) games just goes to prove that.

I recommend alternatives in the rune section (magic resist glyphs and armour quintessences). My playstyle with Zyra is high risk high reward, and I want to deal the most amount of damage as possible. Magic penetration is a very strong stat and allows Zyra to easily oneshot somebody with her full combo either when you hit 6 or you've bought Haunting Guise and Sorcerer Shoes. I don't play Zyra in order to survive, but rather deal a ton of damage in fights whilst laying down my Stranglethorns to either zone or CC important targets so my team can then clean up (which is where a lot of my deaths come from, but in return we get 2 or 3 kills and flashes burnt too.)

I said that games are never set in stone and if the player is uncomfortable using my setup then they can try the more mainstream and well recognized alternatives that I have mentioned in the guide.

Thanks for your feedback. (>^-^)>
