UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I have put up my build which is finished, but I am not done with my chapters, which I will post later as I have time to do so!
Hello potential Vi's, My name is Rebel, and this is my first guide with Mobafire. I've been maining Vi since the middle of season 3, and I've been having fun with her ever since. I've been looking at builds, I've come across a few that I've liked, but I always thought they could be better so I decided to make my own. This has taken much experimentation to create, and is so far the best build (in my opinion) so far, but as I find better combinations, I'll update the guide! Currently, this guide is versatile, where it is tanky yet hard hitting, but I will make a tank option later. P.S. Instead of downvoting, put your opinions in the comment section where I can address them, and make this guide that much better. |
Pro's:
Con's:
-
2 Gap Closers built into her kit
Has a built in shield with her passive
Can go through walls to escape or surprise
Ult goes through everything straight to her target (perfect to get adc's in the back)
E holds two charges, also great for harass
Con's:
-
Get's banned ALOT
CC shuts her down without Tenacity
If you use Q to initiate, usually cannot Q to disengage
Difficult to stick to opponents without items
|
Vault Breaker - Only move in Vi's kit that you can can be used to escape Denting Blows - Every third blow allows gives extra damage and gives extra attack speed Relentless Force - Farming tool that proc's your denting blows Cease and Desist- Gap closing ult. can be used to focus and melt an adc in the back Blast Shield - Shield that comes up from 15-8seconds depending on your level. Scales with Health |
Runes
9 Greater Seal of Armor: Standard on all champions
6 Greater Mark of Attack Damage: Help give you that extra damage in the early rounds
3 Greater Mark of Attack Speed: No attack speed items besides BOTRK, so mostly for early game help
9 Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist: Already buffed on armor, with Ice Gauntlets and Randuins, but doesn't have any magic resist at all
2 Greater Quintessence of Armor Penetration: Help against tanky opponents, like Dr. Mundo or Renekton in early ganks
1 Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: Same reason as Mark of Attack Damage
Go for Denting Blows first, as it is the fastest way to get the buff of your choice (start with blue first, then over to red). Put one point in everything, then go for your E, as it is your best farming and harass tool, and with it's low cool downs it is your main killing tool.
Spirit of the Ancient Golem- You buy spirit of the ancient golem for two main reasons: Builds from Hunter's Machete, so keeps your jungling abilities high, and for its Tenacity, so lower CC, as it can shut you down (like Morgana's 5 second stun). |
Boots of Swiftness- These boots are the fastest boots, while in combat, you can buy, and is important so you don't let your prey get away. Switch these out for Mercury's Treads if you don't intend on getting Spirit of the Ancient Golem |
Black Cleaver - It's a must on any Vi build, as later in the game, everyone has armor, and the only way you're getting through that is a lot of armor pent, and the extra damage doesn't hurt. |
Iceborn Gauntlet- Main point here is the AOE slow that is given when you use your abilities. Also great synergy with your Relentless Force, so it brings heavy pain, slows, 10% CDR, and 70 armor on top of all of that. |
Blade of the Ruined King- Item can be switched with Bloodthirster. It is the only item in the list with attack speed and it's active crushes tanks, so even Dr. Mundo and Renekton fall under the weight of your blows. |
Randuin's Omen- This item is to round it all off. Use it's active for teamfights, as it will make it difficult for the enemy team to assist eachother, and if they try to run away, your team can catch up and finish them off for the ace! |
Optional Items:
(coming soon)
Gameplay:
Ganking:
Jungling:
-
Go for blue first, after a couple creep camps, you'll be hurting for mana without it
-
Always get red before ganking, IF AVAILABLE, it can be the difference between you getting the kill, or them getting away
-
Try not to Q to initiate, if something goes wrong, you cannot Q out to safety, and you will die
-
If someone wants your blue, I'm sorry to say this, DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM, just went through a game where I let Cho'gath get my blue because I had full mana and he was out, got into a fight and had no mana to finish anyone off
-
If you are stuck in a lane for a while, you can easily harass with Q, as it doesn't weaken no matter how many people it hits
Ganking:
-
I know this is supposed to be a given, but if you gank, make sure you come from behind them, I've seen people come to gank my lane, then comes from the front or side, it makes me cry a little
-
You can sometimes initiate a gank by Q'ing through a wall (goes against rule 3 of gameplay so do it carefully)
-
When ganking a duo lane, try to get into a position where you have an opponent between you and your target, so when you ult, you hit both of them
Jungling:
-
When approaching a creeper camp, start your Q to the point where it's fully charged right as your within range (twice the power when fully charged)
-
Immediately after following Rule 1, use E, as it will now hit all the creeps
-
Ward opponents buffs, as you can Q across to steal their buffs, particularly effective for first buff, though risky (if you die, you won't get a leash for your own blue)
To Vi, every problem is just another brick wall to punch through with her gigantic hextech gauntlets. Though she grew up on the wrong side of the law, Vi now uses her criminal know-how to serve Piltover's police force. Vi's brash attitude, abrasive humor, and blatant refusal to follow orders can often infuriate her by-the-books partner, Caitlyn. But even the sheriff of Piltover cannot deny that Vi is an invaluable asset in the fight against crime.
As a child growing up in the lawless outskirts of Piltover, Vi learned to rob and cheat to get by. Stealing and stripping hextech hardware gave her the skills of a master mechanic, while life on the streets taught her self-reliance. When she was six, a ragtag group of criminals took a shine to the young delinquent and brought her into their fold. By the time Vi was eleven, she had become a seasoned accomplice, and she relished the thrill of every heist.
Vi's attitude changed when a raid on a mining facility went bad. She was forced to decide between fleeing with her crew or trying to save the innocent mine workers from a collapsed tunnel. Vi chose to play the hero. While searching for a way to free the mine workers from the rubble, she discovered a damaged robotic mining rig. Improvising, she wrenched off its huge fists and modified them into makeshift hextech gauntlets. Fitting the heavy weapons to her tiny hands, the young girl flexed her arm and threw a powered punch at the rubble. The force of the blow blasted away the rock. With the workers free to escape, Vi fled the scene.
After that job gone wrong, Vi severed her connection to the crew. She returned to a life of solitary crime, but stole only from other criminals. As the years went by, Vi modified and improved her hextech fists, allowing her to bust up heists and snatch loot with ease. Eventually, word of her notoriety reached Caitlyn, the famed Sheriff of Piltover. Rather than seek Vi's arrest, Caitlyn offered the criminal a way to pay her debt to society: work for the law in Piltover. Vi laughed. To her, a job that let her beat up crooks without forcing her to run from the cops sounded perfect. She immediately accepted. Caitlyn now struggles to keep Vi in line, and Vi treats Caitlyn's orders as mere suggestions, but when they work together, they are feared by all lawbreakers in Piltover.
"It's a shame. I've got two fists, but you've only got one face."
―Vi
