Viego Stomp Low Elo! (JUNGLE)

By Zen1tsUchiha
All About me
Well uh, you don't really need to know about me unless you want to see how experienced I am. Im just gonna give you a hint. I was under Platinum rank Preseason 12 and Season 11.
:) Oh right, I don't one trick any champs but I like playing multiple champs every week/day. For example, one day I might play Irelia, but after a few hours she gets boring so I start picking up random champs, watching guides, testing them in practice, blah blah blah. I do have the most mastery points on Viego though since his passive makes the game so much fun, transforming into other champs. His passive is basically my "playstyle"/"pickstyle" (because I pick random champs to start playing). In 2nd place, we have Akali with the 2nd most mastery points, and Jax as 3rd. I first started playing league in like, 2019 but I was like, a total noob. All I knew how to do was, spam the Fizz R+E+Q+AA+W combo which got my my first S of my entire playtime. Then I picked up Eveleynn jg and soon became an Eve main. Soon, I started playing Lux which got me the 2nd S of my life. You should know, unless I'm playing free rotation champs, I get around 2 S's a week. I'm also doing decent with Jhin right now.

Also, I just got Viego Mastery 6 hehe.
Jungle Clear
With Viego you usually want to path towards a lane that needs help, because your ganks will give the weak laner(s) an advantage in gold/items and exp which will let your weak laner kill their enemy.

RED START
This is the clear I always go for whenever my bot lane is evenly matched or stronger than the enemy bot laners. You start with your Q ability, red leash, upgrade E (Harrowed Path) go to Krugs and smite big Krug on sight, Kill all the Raptors, get W (Spectral Maw), go over to Wolves, Kill all of them (no smite), get blue low (450) then smite, then finish your clear with Gromp and kill scuttle. Also, your W will instantly destroy scuttle's shield so use it whenever you don't have smite up or want to save it up for a small duel/skirmish with a ranged champ/high mobility.

Blue Clear
I usually don't go this clear since I'm more comfortable with Red Clear, but it is also a good clear if you need to help bot lane a lot. Start Blue leash (start Q), go to Gromp and smite it, then go to wolves, then raptors, then red, smite it, go to Krugs, then go over to scuttle and gank bot if you can (you most likely will be able to).

You might be wondering, "Why haven't you listed any other clears besides full clears?" Well, thats because Viego needs all the exp he can get, or else he will be pretty weak without any teammates to assist him. However, there will be some instances where you can do a 3-5 camp clear, but that's only the lane you are closest to is either up against an easy match up, or if the gank is a guaranteed lead.

DICTIONARY

Red- Red Brambleback (Wood monster guy)

Blue- Blue Sentinel (Rock guy with blue aura)

Leash- When your teammate(s) help you take down Red/Blue but you kill it

Gank- You should know this if you're a jungler but in League, ganking means after clearing or scuttle, you go over to a lane and help your teammate attack the enemy laner to get your laner ahead.

Laners- Your teammates or enemies in a lane, Bottom lane, Top lane, and Mid lane.

Skirmish- A fight

Krugs- Rock monsters (Once again, you should know this).

Raptors- Bird monsters, one big one and other little ones.

I guess that's it but the only reason I added these words everyone should already know is because I've seen a lot of people under silver sometiems in silver not know these terms.
Tips and Tricks/Abilities
A few tricks I like to use with Viego. Good luck!

First, let's talk about his passive.
His passive lets you transform into the enemy you just killed, so you can turn the tide of the battle by destroying the enemies with their own teammate.

Whenever you kill someone, you have to think about their abilities, items, and class(e.g squishy, tanks, bruisers)

Although abilities won't matter too much in fights, the items and class do.
You want to make sure that the person you're transforming into isn't squishy if you are in the front of the teamfight/duel, because you will get killed quickly. In these situations, you usually want to transform into a tank, but bruisers are fine too.

In fights, you usually can't transform into the champ you need, so you might panic knowing that the only champ you can transform is too squishy, or there are none at all. Even if the only champs you killed are squishy, you can always use the ult reset to your advantage.

Everytime you transform, your ult goes off it's cooldown, letting you use it again during your transformation, but at a price. When you ult during a transformation you discard/lose the soul/champ you were transformed into and you turn back to regular Viego.

Alrighty then, now let's talk about Viego's first ability, Blade of the Ruined King (Q)

Viego's Q has its own little passive that is the reason you want to build Divine Sunderer. His Q is just a basic forward thrust that deals a medium amount of damage. Basically, when you hit someone with your Q, it marks them, and when you attack them, the stack disappears and you hit them twice in quick succession. This one ability makes Viego's auto attacks very important, so make sure to weave in auto attacks in between abilities. (by the way, all of Viego's abilities besides E creates a mark)

Viego's W is a stun that you can hold to increase the range. There is also a little dash but holding the ability doesn't increase the dash range. This is very good for combo extending during fights and starting a gank because the stun will allow your laners to get in the right place in order to kill them without leaving them so low that even one auto attack would kill them. Trust me, this has happened to me many many times.

His E is a very unique and interesting ability that has many uses. Using Harrowed Path, you send out a wave of black mist that covers a piece of terrain if hit. The ability gives you camoflauge after 1 second and attack speed which will increase your dps/damage output during fights. The camouflage is very useful when running, or ganks because if the enemy laner or jungle has a big stun like Lux, you can dodge it and continue the gank. Be warned though, if you attack or use an ability (or hold aim with W), you go out of camo. You can be seen through your camoflauge if you get too close to an enemy or ward.

Viego's ult is just an aoe slam attack that does a good amount of damage. As I said before, your ult cooldown will reset during a transformation, and when you use it you discard the soul (champ you transformed into). The ult will slow and knock back any enemies outside the core hit range which will be good for chasing.

I guess that's about it for the abilities, now let's get into some tips and tricks.

First, you want to remember that your ult can be used for mobility either to chase or run away. You can also hop over walls with it which makes it very useful for surprising enemies or catching up to them. When you're getting chased by a high mobility champ, the best thing to do is trick them. In order to trick them, you can either flash ult into the opposite direction, behind terrain, or just stun them and hop over a wall with ult.

While aiming W, you can cast E to give yourself the movespeed buff to catch up to enemies quickly and stun them while moving. This trick can help you kill many ranged champs that would usually require your ultimate to catch up to them.

To master Viego, you need a decent if not complete understanding of every champ in the game because you will have a lot of problems where you transform into a champ you don't know and mess up because you don't know his/her's/it's abilities. I would suggest going to the shop and just skimming the abilities and passives of every champ in the game, including the new champ Zeri who is going to be really annoying to play against.
Combos
Here are a few combos to ensure maximum damage output. AA means autoattack/basic attack by the way.

Remember to hit terrain with E to start a gank as much as you can.

W-AA-Q-AA-R-AA

Q-AA-W-AA

R-AA-Q-AA-W-AA

Flash-Q-AA-R-W-AA

R-AA-Flash-Q-AA-W-AA Use this combo if they run away during your combo with flash.

R-AA-W-AA-Q-AA

That's about it but feel free to try them out in practice in order to gain the muscle memory needed in order to get better.
Goodbye and Thanks
Thanks for reading guys! I hope you all learned something new and get better at Viego. He is a very fun champ to play so good luck!
